You know Techfast's RAM is bad when cheap SODIMMs have the same frequency and timings lol.

    • 2666mhz cl19 is pretty standard.

I believe Techfast is more like 2400mhz :-)

I paid for 2400CLXX but ended up with 2666CL19… on RYZEN. Both are awful. I believe they still ship their Intel systems with the 2666CL19 kits.

Free upgrade and still whining. If you want 3000+MHz speeds then pay the extra 40%.

@MuddyClear: I'm not whining it's a good overclocker, 3733CL18. But it caused microstutter in certain games for me being so slow so the fact that they ship(ped) systems with this by default is atrocious.

@Void: I rather have stability than to overclock with instability with no significant speed difference - rookie mistake.

              • -1

@MuddyClear: Not a rookie mistake. 16 hours of TestMem5, 2 hours of AIDA64, 2 hours of Prime95 Small FFTs and a lot of gaming has proven it to be 100% stable… or at least 99.9%.

                • @Void: Your systems overall performance is not just based on memory. I highly doubt your micro stuttering is caused by 2666cl19 memory. In any case, I would NEVER buy from Tech Slow.

                  • -1

@MuddyClear: Battlefield 1 went from blech to good with 3733CL18. On Ryzen memory strongly affects multicore performance due to the inter-CCX latency reductions.

                    • @Void: Should have gone Intel then… and not sure why you’re comparing Tech Slow desktop ram with laptop ram??

    • You pay peanut you get monkey, but the problem is you not paying a peanut but you still get a monkey!

  • This looks like an appropriate matched pair for a NUC6i5?

That said, would I benefit from going to 16gb from 8gb?

    Hmm.

    • Depends on use case.

  • Damn, I was going to list my 2 x 8GB Micron 2333 sticks for $80 - I think I better tell myself I'm dreaming

  • FYI, damn seller sent me 1x16gb stick, so now I have to return it. I won’t be purchasing from gadget lifestyle again!
