Don’t know how you can make money selling at these prices . ordered to give them a try.

    • ah ha. Great wine doesn't have to be expensive. Thanks for the order. Cheers! RD

  • +1

Haven't quite finished the last purchase, but love the Shiraz. Ordered 2 more cases. Thank you.

    • Thanks @Jos. Glad you're enjoying the shiraz! Cheers RD :-)

    • +1

      Which Shiraz did you get?

      • hi Bravyboy - I suspect Jos got the Lakeside Shiraz 2018. Cheers! RD

        • Thankyou RD. Just wondering if any of the Shiraz's are particularly good for cellaring?

          • +1

@Maverick911: The Barossa Shiraz will cellar well for 8 years comfortably.
The Lakeside will do so for around 5 but both wines are drinking really well now, particularly the Barossa which we polished off a few nights ago. Cheers RD :-)

        • Full bodied?

          • @Archaleas: The Barossa more so than the Lakeside. Cheers RD :-)

            • @RD ADL: Just took delivery and the first sips of the Barossa. What a drop. Very very nice.

Going to be difficult to keep any put away for long.

        Lakeside Shiraz. Easy drinking!

    • Which Shiraz did you get?

Hi Maverick911 - I suspect Jos got the Lakeside Shiraz 2018. Cheers! RD

      • Yes, the Lakeside Shiraz.

  • +1

    Got myself a "Lakeside SA Cabernet Sauvignon 2019" 6pk = $7.5 each
    Thanks!

  • +7

Thanks for the deal, I bought 4 six packs of red and white. Look forward to drinking them all and then disappointing my wife.

    • +6

      I'm sure you're already a disappointment

    • Thanks @Richox - Am sure there might be a glass or two in there for your good lady. Enjoy and thank you. RD :-)

      • +6

I'll definitely give a few glasses to my good lady, as long as my wife doesn't find out about her.

        • hahaha. Funny. :-)

          • +2

@RD ADL: It's just a joke I am not cheating on my wife

    Hey Richard,
Using Vivino as my guide. Is Bec Hardy/Lakeside brand a replacement of the Pertaringa brand? As the Bec Hardy brand is relatively new (in winery terms) the more detail the better :)

    Thanks

    • +5

Hi Ashola. great questions. Thanks for asking.
We're yet to update the Vivino app to reflect the ownership change but Bec and I have been running her father's wine business (of which Pertaringa was the vast majority) for the last nine years.
In July, as part of the Hardy family's succession planning ownership of the Pertaringa brand passed to Bec.Pertaringa will continue on, unchanged, as it has done now since 1980.
It's really just a change in company structure.
The Lakeside range is the firstline/entry level range for Pertaringa which we started around four years ago.
more information can be found here -> https://bechardy.com.au/news/bec-hardy-wines-takes-over-owne…

Thanks for the great questions. Cheers! RD :-)

Hi RD, I'm having trouble finding links to some of the wines in the various packs. I'm thinking about the Virtual Tasting Red 6 Pack and I'd like to know a bit more about the Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 and the Bec Hardy Barossa Valley Shiraz 2017. Same with the Export Label Premium McLaren Vale Cabernet Sauvignon 2018. Cheers!

    • +1

      hi Wilburt. Happy to help.
We're just waiting on bottle photography before loading up the new wines that have recently bottled, hence why one or two aren't already up there.

Lakeside Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 - The tasting note for the 2018 is up there and this wine will be very similar.

Bec Hardy Barossa Shiraz 2017 - An absolute crowd pleasing Barossa shiraz, great palate weight and acidity. Great wine at that price. Knocked a bottle off on Wednesday evening packing some wine in the shed!

Export Label Premium MV Shiraz 2018 - isn't up on the site as it is a wine we made for someone else and there's literally only 9 six packs of it for sale. This is a premium MV Cab Sauv that would retail at around $40/btl.

Please let me know if I can help further.
      Cheers RD :-)

      • Thanks RD, my virtual 6 pack arrived yesterday afternoon! Have you sold out of the Barossa shiraz?

        • Hi Wilburt. Our Canadian distributor moved to clean up the rest. 2018 bottling soon. Watch this space. Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

My timing is terrible. I purchased the mixed white pack as a birthday present yesterday and paid for postage. BUT still great value at $72 delivered.

  • +1

Got a virtual dozen for the first time after seeing how many were raving about them in the past deals! Thanks RD!

    • Excellent - thanks for that. It's a great way into the range. See what you like and order more - or just keep getting the Mixed Packs - choice is yours. Thanks for the support. Enjoy! Cheers! RD :-)

  • +1

What's the difference between the Lakeside SA and Bec Hardy SA Shiraz, other than the year? Description is identical…

    • +1

Good question. It's a consistent wine year in year out. The 2019 is just a little fresher given it is a year younger. Both very enjoyable wines - I think there's been a few recommendations for the Lakeside further up the comments page here :-) Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

Got a white tasting pack! Can't wait!

    • Happy days! Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

Just ordered a virtual 12 pack so I can taste a bit of everything. Can't wait.
10% off with free delivery using the code. Awesome.

  • +1

Great deal. Just got a doz Lakeside Cab Sav.

  • -1

Has anyone actually tried these? .. apart from Jos who seems to be associated & had commented on all RD ADL posts in the past.

    • +1

Yes, Pinot is fantastic and the Cab Sav was nice too. I got both from last deal.

    • +1

Bought the tasting pack and a few cases of Shiraz and cab sav for the folks. They were very happy with it all :)

    • +1

Actually, no association at all. First purchased some GMH red blend following an OzBargain deal and loved them. At home we like to regularly have a glass of red at night, and I just can't bring myself to pay $15+ for a bottle of wine for casual home drinking. Too expensive. This is my solution as I really enjoy the wine. However, I'm no wine connoisseur, I just like what I like (and can rarely find much wine I enjoy under $15). Therefore, as the wine and service has always been great, I like to highly recommend.

    • +1

HI Zandz. I can confirm @Jos and I are not associated in any way. Lots of happy Ozbargainers who would endorse the wines , just as James Halliday has. Cheers RD :-)

    • +1

Yes. Consistently my go to brand for cheap but enjoyable red. I can't comment on the white but will likely get some this time around to try out.

  • +2

Thanks guys bought 2 cases, we loved the Pinot from the previous sales!

  • +1

    So glad you are back!

Bought the Cab Sav and the Pinot in the last deal. The Pinot is spectacular for less than $10 a bottle delivered. Ordered a dozen, thanks RD!

    • Agree the Pinot is a ripper. We often knock it over at home. Pinot that tastes like Pinot for around $10! Happy days. Cheers! RD :-)

      • +1

Wine arrived today and I'm straight into it. Just as good as last time, $10 for a Monday night quaff is great. Thanks RD.

        • Great to hear. All the best RD:-)

  • +3

Never tried this wine before. Going by fellow Oz-bargainers reviews. Just ordered 2 x 6 packs of mixed red. It would be good if they had a mixed 12 red for sale.

    • +2

Same here. Wanted a 12 pack of the mixed red. Settled for 2 of the 6 bottles instead. Hopefully this will be a pack they sell in the future.

      • +1

Hi Ozhxb & Perfecttiming. Yes, the best idea is 2 x 6pks. Thanks for the feedback though. The list got a bit long with a few more packs, so we'll make a slight structural change to the site and be able to do them at a later date. Cheers for the feedback and the order - much appreciated. Thanks RD :-)

  • +1

Bought a half dozen each of the Pinot and the export Cab Sav, looking forward to trying.

    • +1

Hi Kenvin. The export MV Cabernet Sauvignon is a sleeper - only 9 six packs available and a $40/btl wine under our own label.
Cheers for the order! RD :-)

  • +1

Do you guys still have GMH reds? I got some in a tasting pack previously and absolutely loved them.

More specifically, the 2018 meritage and shiraz

    • Hi Bonbi. I'm afraid we don't. The Lakeside wines are the Pertaringa equivalent and were often the same wines. That will, of course, change going forward beyond 2019 vintage. Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

    How dry is the Rose?

    • Hi Oppo - The Rose is a dry rose made from sangiovese from Langhorne Creek. Cheers RD :-)

  • +1

@OP Congrats on the score on the Tipsy Hill Cabernet! During a particular low point during this covid lockdown I cracked a bottle of Yeoman I've had for a couple of years (I think it was the 2013, might have been '14) and it was a moment of ecstasy. Certainly one of the pricier purchases I've made on the wine front but so very worth it. Ruined every other wine I drank for the next week.

But sadly the wallet doesn't allow for that kind of drinking on a regular basis. I smashed the last virtual dozen and can't actually remember what I liked (it was a bit of an "it's all good") so on to another (and snatch up a 6 pack of the export one).

    • +1

Thanks @freefall for taking the time to tell that story - it's what wine is all about right?
Thanks also for the congratulations on the score of 99 for the Tipsy Hill Cabernet. The Yeoman 2017 did well too with 97. :-)
Chuffed you enjoyed it but sorry it ruined wine for the rest of the week! :-)
Things like the new wineshedsale.com.au relfect the fact that Bec and I absolutely get it that not everyone can enjoy pricey or expensive wines everyday but what we are about is delivering great price/quality ratio at every price point and making bloody good wine accessible to everyone on any budget. Thanks for the post and the story. Stay safe. Cheers! RD :-)

  • Oh nooo! The Exporto one is sold out =(

    • +1

Ah yes, sorry about that. Literally only 9 six packs to start with! A good alternative - the Barossa Shiraz 2017 - it's the sleeper of the sale IMHO. Cheers! Richard :-)

  • +2

Thanks Richard. Just ordered a pinot gris and a shiraz. I'd like to see a mixed white without the bubbles - I'd buy that.

    • Hi Lenard - will certainly keep it in mind :-) Cheers RD

    • +1

I agree. No bubbles and no rose.

  • +2

must not give in to temptation!!!!!! just one dozen of the shiraz and only 2 virtual reds!!! success - i guess……………..

    • Huzzah! Success! Thanks for the order. Richard :-)

  • +1

    This is very tempting…

    • ah ha. We try :-)

  • +1

I’ve been keeping these guys in business for a few months now (my liver probably won’t thank them though) Some good deals on various styles and I’m currently enjoying a Tempranillo.Delivery is tardy due to the current state of transport chaos.

    • Hi Dynaflow - I think you're referring to the Tempranillo from Bec's father's business which we ran for nine years until 1 July when we took control of the vast majority of Geoff's business, taking much of the back office expertise and personnel with us.
I understand that they had some issues with logistics on their recent sales as they get to grips with their business.
At Bec Hardy we're not seeing any excessive blowouts to delivery timeframes into Victoria - sure a day or two but nothing beyond other seasonal peaks such as Christmas. Hope that helps. Cheers! Richard :-)

      • Hi Richard- I'm yet to receive delivery of an order dispatched on 24th Jul via Aus post to Sydney metro location. I figured it was slow delivery due to COVID but maybe not the case? Does this seem unusual?

        • +1

Hi Naynay. Let’s take a look as that seems slow. Please email us the details to [email protected] and one of the team will look into it. Thanks. RD :-)

          • +1

@RD ADL: Thanks Richard- email sent. Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon :)

  • +1

I specifically registered to say thanks. Have ordered 2 x dozen virtual tasting dozens. Should see us through stage 4 in Vic :)

    • +1

hi lijy85 - Thanks for the order. We're all rooting for Vic. Your success is ours. Stay safe, take care. Richard :-)

  • +1

Always nice to discover a new winery. Ordered the virtual tasting red. Thanks!

    • Thanks Soph. Sort of new, sort of old. The Pertaringa range been going for 40 years, but ownership and the new Bec Hardy label are the new bits. Thanks for the support - look forward to welcoming you to cellar door once the current madness is over. Stay safe RD :-)

      • +1

Thanks Richard. I meant new to us! Looking forward to tasting your wines. All the best in these crazy times.

        • Welcome to the family. Best to you too.RD :-)

Ozbargain should do awards for best reps. This one is very good. Like that guy who used to rep those international sim cards.

I ordered a virtual dozen. Looking forward to it.

  • +2

Ah thanks. Nice words. I'm not much good with SIM cards but I'm sort of ok with wine. Cheers RD :-)

  • Any reds or whites vegan ?

    • Hi Chrisharry. All of the reds in the Lakeside range are. Cheers RD :-)

  • OP - Is the Lakeside Shiraz 2018 still available? Added it to the cart but just didn't get around to complete the purchase last night.
Also, is delivery still free (to Sydney) or did I miss the boat on this? :(

    • Vintage has now rolled to the 2019. Delivery still free. Cheers RD :-)

      • +1

Thanks RD. Just ordered a virtual red 6 pack. Looking forward to trying them out.

  • +1
