Got my cashback after a few hours. Thanks TA

  • +2

Just saw that cashback has already been tracked, thanks for the deal TA!

    • +2

Pleasure as always. Look out for more great deals coming soon :)

      • any deals with 1660ti :D

    TA FOR PRIME MINISTER

  • +1

Thank you TA. you Legend. My cash back tracked after an hour of ordering.

  • I bought at the end of the window since I didn't see the deal earlier (confirmation email from Lenovo is timestamped for Wed 12 Aug 2020 15:59 AEST, cashrewards click history says 3:56 PM), but cashrewards tracking only applied at 3% lol. Do I just wait a week and then contact CR support?

    • +1

Hi MHLoppy. If the click and purchase details above are correct, this will be fixed for you. Please PM me your CR email address and Lenovo OrderID. Thanks!

    • +2

Update: TA, Lenovo, and another CR rep have sorted it out, and I now have the full cashback amount. It seems that despite receiving my email at 3:59 (and some seconds), the order system only finished processing the order at 4:00:01 and so I was technically 1-2 seconds past the promotional window.

I agree with whoever said to give TA a raise!

      • +2

lol, glad to have sorted this for you. Enjoy the laptop :)

  • got email confirmation that tracked for $24.66 :( submitted an enquiry anyway.

    • Hi Tommy. $24.66 is exactly 3% of $822 - the rate before 2pm and after 4pm. What time was your click and equally importantly, what time was your transaction completed?

      • 2:02PM :) thanks TA

        • +2

I'm assuming this is the purchase time? Please note that click time must be 2pm or later else you will track at the lower rate. Please PM me your CR email address and Lenovo OrderID. Thanks.

          • +1

@tightarse: Hooray! Thank you very much for your help, TA! Got my 20% cashback!

  • +1

Hi TA, thanks heaps! I've just received the reward comfirmation email of $164.40, it's also shown in my CR account. It tells me: "Once Lenovo confirms your cashback, it will be added to your available rewards. This can take anywhere from one to 100 days." but I don't mind the long wait though:-) But just out of curious: in real life, what is the average waiting time for Lenovo to approve its cash reward?

  • +1

I got one of these last year for about the same price. Very happy with it. A bit heavy to use as a tablet, but love the touch screen, fast enough for my basic use, and I liked being able to get inside and upgrade the RAM to 16GB and the SSD to 1TB. Too many laptops these days cannot be home uggraded.

Battery life is decent. Like the 4 USB ports and USB C charging.

    • Eh? This can't be used as a tablet i don't think.

  • Estimated delivery date: 20th August

  • Estimated delivery date is 20th August for me as well. I thought it says 2 business days LOL…once you order something you feel like getting it the same day :D

  • Thanks @tightarse, I've made my first purchase through CR. Started off with CR website and clicked on the deal and was routed to Lenovo website. Then completed the order after applying the eCoupon came up as $822. All good! But still the transaction not appearing in CR :(. More depressed seeing lots of people commenting they've received theirs in few minutes to couple of hours lol

    • Hi Muhammad. When you say you clicked on the deal, do you mean you clicked from the main OzB link that redirects to Lenovo, or my link at the bottom of OP (in bold) that calls out the 20% cashback?

      • Your link that took me to CR website that listed all the deals

        • Please turn on messaging in your OzB settings and PM me your CR email address and Lenovo order ID. Thanks.

          • @tightarse: It doesn't let me send PM's as I've just created my account on OzB. Is there any other way I can send you the details?

          • @tightarse: Sorry, Just noticed I've turned on the messaging :D

          • +1

@tightarse: Thanks TA for fixing the problem. Got the tracking email and a $164.40 Cashback!!! You are a gem :D

  • I was a quick draw 2:00 click and 2:04 purchase
    No tracking yet though

    • Thanks TA for responding and getting it tracked. Absolutely brilliant service. Cheers!

  • How the hell did my 2 day shipping become 5 day shipping - so annoying.

    • Ask for an upgrade to the i7 8th Gen, 16GB DDR4 and 512GB SSD for the 3 day worth of delay lol.

      • Its my human rights

      • He spammed exactly the same comment on this post

        • Did you contact the sales rep and look into my cart and heart?
          :/

    • 2 day shipping became expected to ship on 17th and expected arrival 24th. A bit annoying but not too bad, Atleast its not 7-8 weeks… yet

      • -1

        lenovo r such explicit explicit

dodgy companies using covid as an excuse for everything lol - i'd understand if the extra time was for time in transit not time until they get the box out the door

        • Do you mean expletive?

          • @pomchu: LOL true dat

          • @pomchu: you're a gentleman and a scholar

            • @fd9: LOL I do what I can. But on a serious note, enjoy your new laptop. I was really close to pulling the trigger but in the end decided to hold out for a potential Yoga deal. Hint hint…

              • @pomchu: EyYYYyyYyYy thanks brah.

Honestly I was going to get that sleek silver Yoga X1 Gen 4

But tried it out at computer shop next to the T490.

And the T490 keyboard blew the Yoga out of the water ….
They didn't have the X1 CARBON on display anywhere in my city so wasn't able to try out the X1 Gen Carbon

                But read on reddit that

                1) X1 Gen 7 Carbon and Yoga Gen 4 X1 carbon where the same (unverified but whatever lol)
                2) Gen 7 had 13% less travel than Gen 6
                3) Yoga was Glossssyyyyyy screen

                Just my 2 dodgecoin
                Just my 2 shillings

So bought the gen 6 (plus I needed 4G and bigger battery was a plus and it had touch screen as well which I use - but I was buying this laptop mainly for the keyboard)

Anyway maybe just consider that - do try out the yoga - keyboard isn't BAD but its much less travel than the T490.

              • @pomchu: Wait… hint hint??? Do you work at Le Expletive Novo?

                • @fd9: No no no. Just hoping that TA picks up on a few of the comments on here and comes to the Yoga party sometime.

      • +1

I can only pass on the information I was given. If it's any consolation, I ordered something from Officeworks last Saturday and was promised delivery two days later. I called them today as I'm yet to see it, and they apologised stating I'll receive it sometime next week due to being inundated with deliveries due to COVID (I'm in Melbourne). Not making excuses, but this may have something to do with it? But please rest assured the machines are shipping from Sydney (not China) so you should have it soon :)

        • +1

Yea of course not blaming you :) (Thanks for sharing the deal!) - only Le EXPLETIVE novo for not advertising properly on their website.

Like I was swayed to purchase something since it said ships in 2 days. But thank you for the response - it is reassuring.

    • I owe Le non-expletive novo an apology. They shipped my order today and its coming on the 18th (allegedly - with a past history of BS claims).

  • Website isn't loading?

  • would this be faster than an I3 10th gen Acer i got for $490 last year.

  • I had multiple clicks registered at 2:06pm and made purchase, but still nothing on cashrewards has come through…

    • +3

[TA] Needs a pay-rise for working after hours. All fixed and tracked now. Cheers mate.

  • +1

Picked up one today with 20% cashback (thanks to TA for the continued great deals!). Expected dispatch 17/08, arrival 20/8 in Perth. For my needs an excellent deal IMO!

  • Where are people seeing their expected dispatch and arrival? It seems like a lot of people ordered and I am worried that I might have missed out even though I placed my order at 2:08.

  • +1

I'm curious… People here are pretty tech savvy… What will those who bought it do with this subpar processor (when a few bucks more would've gotten them a ThinkPad E14 or an Ideapad S14 with Ryzen 5 4500U)?

    • Maybe most of the people who comment are tech savvy? What's the cheapest E14 with a Ryzen 5 available?

      • Check the comments in the following. post

        https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/557645

        ThinkPad E14 Gen 2 (AMD)

        Web Price:$1,729.00Sale Price:$950.95

$760 for this after cashback seems like a pretty sweet deal! (would have loved to upgrade the specs though!)

        Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 4500U (6C / 6T, 2.3 / 4.0GHz, 3MB L2 / 8MB L3)
        Display Type: 14" FHD (1920x1080) IPS 250nits Anti-glare
        Memory: 8GB Soldered DDR4-3200
Hard Drive: 256GB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe NVMe
        AC Adapter: 65W USB-C
        Graphics: Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics
        Battery: Integrated 45Wh
        Camera: 720p with ThinkShutter
        Fingerprint Reader: Touch Style
        Wireless: RTL8822CE 11ac, 2x2 + BT5.0

        • The RAM, SSD and Wifi upgrades are fairly cheap and easy off of Amazon.

    • I'm guessing people are like sheep. They like to follow each other and are too lazy to do their own research and analysis (me included sometimes lol)

      • Lazy or time constrained. But I doubt OzBargainers fit any of these categories. Sheeple pay full price for marketing.

        • To a certain degree yes. Check the deals with the most upvotes and assume its the best deal. A lot of the time it is genuinely a good deal.

    • +6

A few bucks? You mean like $100, that's about 15% more. This is ozbargain right? That should be enough surely?
I bought the L380 for my kid to use at school, so:
      + smaller
      + lighter
      + portability
      + touch screen
+ potentially better build quality of L vs E
      + Windows 10 Pro
It may be slower than the 4500U but for the things that this will get used for will mean the i5-8250U is fast enough

      • As pointed out in the thread, the E14 gen2 could have been bought for $740 which is definitely less than $100 difference compared to the L380. I don't think you can find an E14 AMD gen2 for cheaper at any other time? The closest it had come prior to the 20% CR Lenovo sale was $888 before 3% CR discount. They are very similar laptops and are comparable. How much is $100 to you? Is it worth spending an extra $100 for something that is current generation with better specs that could potentially be better futureproofed and last longer? The L380 is a great deal, but everyone has different preferences.

        • +1

Okay its about $80 more then, so only like 12% more ;)
The E14 was around $780 with the 10% discount unidays code until a few days ago
I agree the E14 is superior and is probably a better value deal for raw computing specs
But this L380 was a great deal, very cheap for a quality device, that fits my needs for a portable laptop better than the E14

          • @choofa: There you go, that's exactly what I was asking. Cheers.

Although… I saw people saying the Unidays discount was still on, thus minus the cashback, the E14 would've been even cheaper?! ($624)

          • @choofa: So $80 more for thinner, more modern designed laptop with larger screen and thinner bezels. Ryzen 5 4500U CPU, BT5.0, aluminum build, USB 3.2. Biggest difference is the more modern internals and aesthetic/build.

            • @rendezvous: All good points, but a bit late to have this discussion now ;)

              • +1

@choofa: I was telling TA, should have bought both and decide later which one to keep later. Ahh well if there is a next time know better now

    • +1

The usage for this laptop for my purchase has no appreciable difference in the performance of the 8250U vs anything faster. It's replacing a dead 6200U system that was already fast enough for its usage of basic office suite / web browsing etc.

E14 doesn't have a touchscreen, which was present and frequently used on the aforementioned dead system, making the L380 a far better replacement for this use case. Agree that the E14 deal looked great for non-touchscreen users though!

      • -1

Some comments mentioned that the touchscreen is not that great. Not that I have any experience with it

        • Yeah, I've seen those. Pretty sure the system it's replacing had a mediocre touchscreen as well, but apparently it's good enough for someone who isn't too fussy ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

          • @MHLoppy: Missus has a Surface laptop and the touchscreen on that is very good. Experience far exceeded my expectations that when I went back to non touch screen laptop I found myself poking at the screen without any response

  • Shipped 20 hours after purchase! Initially said was gonna be shipped on 17th for me

    • yeah…just got a shipping confirmation email too…

  • cash back hasn't been tracked for me, but I'll wait the 7 days to put in a claim?

    • Same here, cashback hasn't tracked for me either. Is TA around?

      • +1

I am. Please PM me your CR email address and Lenovo Order ID. Thanks.

        • +2

Cashback has now tracked on my account, TA is really helpful and got it sorted in no time.

        • +1

          All sorted now, thanks mate!

  • Just had a shipped confirmation email too, but no cashback yet.

    • Please PM me your CR email address and Lenovo Order ID. Thanks.

Got it delivered this afternoon, via DHL from Sydney, Thank you TA!

    • Wow delivered in Melbourne, that's amazing considering the restrictions. Any upgrades received :P

  • Received my laptop just 2 minutes ago, report from Melbourne! Very happy!

    • +1

My order has arrived at delivery facility in Melbourne yesterday, and since been put on hold. It is showing the shipment is awaiting the next scheduled movement. Did you get this before receiving your laptop?

      • No, just suddently got a txt at 12:02pm to inform the DHL delivery today, then 2 hours ago received the call from the drive and he was just outside my home.

        • It seems like a few people here from Melbourne already received their laptop. My shipment is unfortunately been put on hold for whatever reason.

  • Recieved just now… That was quick.

Gives me time today to set it up..

  • +3

Got it delivered this morning. Very happy. And thanks TA for tracking the cashback for me. 😊
