im clicking on the referral link above and when I get to the page where it asks for a referral code, I don't know where to get that from. Any insight?

Some of the referral links don't work properly. I had same experience.

Click again on the random referral link and start afresh.
The referral code should be autopopulated if the referral worked

  • Seeing mixed reports about poor speeds - Can anyone who is on FTTC let me know what speeds they are getting (and what they were previously getting with their old ISP)

    • Strangely my FTTN degraded over the day but got better after a modem power cycle. I never did modem resets previously so a bit weird but I guess it could be old network settings or something.

Back to over 100mbps after the power cycle.

      • it nearly always helps to reboot on FTTN when you change providers.

    • there should be no reason for slower speeds on a network level (you can see our CVC graphs)
other factors come in when you churn, and rebooting things helps a lot.
also, you can try different speed test servers, and if you have a SAmKnows box, it will report true speeds more reliable than speedtest.net
      (samknows is the ACCC box)

  • So is there a specific referral code or just any old referral code will do?

    • Use a referral link from the bottom of the deal post

  • Anyone who migrated from Telstra NBN HFC to Superloop? How's your experience been so far?

    • +1

Am on HFC, took 5 mins to churn after form submitted.

Getting speeds of 100mbps in speed test, running great.

    • +1

i moved from Telstra Cable to Superloop HFC .. and i had massive issues with the Telstra modem i had… constant dropouts and stuff.

I spoke with Superloop technical who said that i wasnt having dropouts on the radius server with NBN so it must be my side.

I ended up spending couple of hundred and bought a decent modem. I havent restarted it in months and have had near perfect connectivity the whole time!

      So that's my feedback :)

      • Thanks for sharing. That modem would be the NBN modem right? The one in this video: https://youtu.be/iSKUn_oPtSM

      • When you say modem - do you mean router? I think youre getting the 2 mixed up.

      • I'm having that issue as of today. I switched from Telstra Cable to Superloop HFC and am using the Tesltra Smart Modem 2 (which is actually router) for the moment.

What speeds are you getting after upgrading the router?

I've seen a drop of 30mbps using TSM2 - but (and very importantly) initially when I plugged it in I was getting approximately the same speed as I'd been getting with Telstra Cable but with faster upload and better ping. It was showing as Telstra NBN on Ookla speedtest, but Telstra NBN doesn't offer 100/20.

        • @tolchok did you inform Telstra of the move in order to cancel your cable? I currently on telstra cable and have just signed up with SL…

          • @Shibuya: No, I had both running concurrently without issue and didn't cancel Telstra cable.

AFTER I cancelled SL, Telstra decided to cancel my cable anyway (without request or permission). I've now signed up for AussieBroadband and couldn't be happier.

  • Can i ask is the refferal link generic. is it a different referral link for the $10 off for 6 months for the new customer or the 6 weeks free? Asking as i want to join through 6 weeks free referral link.

    • +1

The referral link generator above has (590) users referral links in it and it will assign you a random one.

When you use a code to sign up, YOU get the 6 weeks free and the person whose code you used gets $10 off for 6 months.

  • I still have two and half months with Belong, can I sign up now and connect later?

  • Would it be possible to downgrade to 50mbps plan after 6 weeks? Any change fee?

  • Can I use my ABB supplied modem if I churn over to Superloop?

    • +2

Yep. I just did and it was super easy. See my post below

  • +2

Wow. I now have the fastest internet connection I’ve ever had! I was ported over from Aussie BB within 5 mins of signing up, turned off my modem and back on again and whooooosh! And free for 6 weeks! This is a great deal. Thanks OP

We were with Superloop for nearly a year. Unfortunately no responses to emails and long waits on the phone when we experienced repeated issues. Moving to another ISP as the saving is not worth the time spent waiting on the phone.

  • +1

I need to switch from ADSL to NBN, was going to wait till Sept/Oct when it's close to the disconnection timing. In my case would I need to notify my current ISP before signing up with Superloop?

    • Why would you torture yourself by staying on adsl?

      • Couldn't find any plan to match my $60/month unlimited ADSL at the time; and didn't really need an upgrade as mainly myself using internet. Could say laziness plays a part as well, just couldn't be bothered?

        • I know those laziness feels too well.

But yeah, changing over to NBN is pretty quick and easy. I'd jump on this as a starter and then scale down after the 6 weeks to a lower speed - maybe a 25/5 plan if its just yourself

  • Nice. Change over was smooth and speeds have been great even during peak times.

  • is 10% off for 6 month for each referral?
what if 100 people sign up using the same code?

    • There's 500 codes in the system… The chance of reusing is slim. I know so far no one has used my code… So that's least one code not used yet ..

    • It might be capped at one per user? If not, then a few users might get a nice little discount on their internet bill for the next 6 months.

      • No idea how it works

    • It’s capped at (up to) $10 per referral and at 100% of the referrer’s plan fee for the 6 months.

      https://www.superloop.com/documents/legal/20200429-SHBB-Refe…

      1. A referral will be successful once the referee has been accepted by Superloop Home Broadband, has an active service and pays their first invoice. The Rewards available for successful referrals are:
        • a 10% discount (maximum of $10) off the referrer’s monthly invoice for 6 months for each successful referral between 1 May and 31 December 2020 (capped at 100% of the referrer’s monthly invoice) and a $10 discount off the referee’s account per month for their first six months

I am with ABB and have the landline number with them redirected to my mobile. Does Superloop offer transferring the number with free redirection. I am not seeing any option when trying to signup. I am happy with ABB but 50/20 speed is limiting, since I am on FTTP willing to take the risk with Superloop hoping the speed will be alright.

  • Hi Op, how to get a referral code? I clicked on your link which directed me to the signup page but the referral code box is still empty. cheers,

  • Has anyone here signed up then switched over to the 100/40 plan?

I don't see anything in the terms and conditions to prevent this. According to point number 10 of T&C's the customer will pay the extra cost of upgrading

Can someone also confirm if upgrading plan can be done online and happens instantaneously?

    • Can’t help with the first question but I signed up on the weekend and can see a ‘plan changer’ in the portal, however when I click it, it says:

      Plan Changer Unavailable
The plan changer is not available for your service at this time. Please try again later or contact if you believe this is incorrect.

Maybe it will become active after the 6 weeks?

      • +2

Ha ha. Was just typing the same comment.
So answer to the possibility of an immediate switch of plan online is no.

The rep said it can be done in the second month though.

        • Can They change it for you though ?

      • Thank you both for checking. That's very unfortunate as I really need the faster upload atm

        • Who are you with currently and what NBN type, and is the upload speed satisfactory?
Maybe stay with your current NBN RSP for now.

If you want to change and must have 100/40, you can still sign up using a referral code and get $10 off per month for 6 months instead of the 100/20 special posted.

I'm sure you know what you need, but am currently on 100/20, and it works great for all my WFH and home schooling needs.
Was previously on 100/40, didn't feel much different.

  • I'm looking to take advantage of this deal but i was wondering if you can change the after the first month to a cheaper plan?

Also is there a minimum time frame you have to stay with superloop?

    • Yep, you can change for the second month

There’s no minimum time frame you have to stay with them, but they don’t do pro rata refunds so if you churn out halfway through your second month you’ll still have to pay for the full month.

      • Thanks for the info

  • I just switched my HFC connection this morning, transition was easy and I’ve gone from 93-94Mbps to 106-107Mbps down and ping from 9-11ms to 5-7ms using the same Speedtest servers. Thanks to the poster!!

    • Fabulous! Am enjoying great speeds in Superloop HFC-NBN too. Very pleased.

    • Have messaged you. Cheers

  • Got installed today, from scratch (no NBN before).
Excellent service. The installation was unobtrusive (I know that is NBN and not SL, but the Mrs was concerned).
Had a problem getting a modem to work but ended up with a daisy chain of an older modem/router from the ADSL days connected to an fifth gen Apple Airport.
The result was 92mbs down, very happy.
Still might investigate getting a better router, any recommendations?

    • What NBN service - HFC, FTTC or FTTN?
      I presume not FTTP.

      • HFC

        • That's easy then.
Your old Airport can connect direct to the provided ARRIS NBN modem, and provide N speed internet which should work fine.
Set up of the Airport router is via iOS app Apple Airport Utility.

If you need greater range either get a standalone AC router or to cover the whole house consider a mesh system like

          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/560033

          • @pencilman: Re-did that and with the help of SL's helpline, eliminated the 'middle' router.
Speed is a bit ugly but it's Saturday morning in Melbourne so the speed it not going to be brilliant

    • Same here, had installation this morning from scratch. All done in about 45 mins, and the activation/configuration took another 15-20 mins thereafter.

Download speed is 84Mbps from 10Mbps before :) I'm also on HFC and using the old modem from previous provider (MyRepublic).

  • Thanks OP, I have been dreading having to move to NBN, but this effectively allows me to try before committing to transferring for good. I am going to test speed and reliability of FTTC vs Telstra Cable (as both can co-exist because they decided not to use either of the HFC networks installed in our area) and will stick with Superloop if I am no worse off - even though it is slightly more expensive than what I'm paying for cable which includes phone.

As Superloop don't have a landline/VOIP service, does anyone have advice for setting up a VOIP service that works with them? I need to be able to reliably make calls once or twice a week and receive calls for up to 3 hours a week and we are in a bit of a mobile signal black-spot.

    • +1

I know every case is different but my FTTC has been flawless for 6+ months now. Never dropped or been down once

      • Good to know. With the over-provisioning I might actually get close to my cable download speeds, which was the major thing I was worried about.

Also, for VOIP I ended up getting a DID from crazytel for $1 a month and a Grandstream ATA which work extremely well.

        • Really furious. Confirmed prior to trying Superloop NBN that connecting would have no impact on Telstra Cable as it is not sharing infrastructure. Both worked for last 3 or 4 days and given Superloop NBN was significantly worse than Telstra Cable, I rang Superloop and asked for NBN to be cancelled. Discussed the reason with the person (that Telstra cable is faster for now and I'll stick with it until forced to move in 18 months). Got off phone and cable internet stopped working immediately. It has taken 5 hours on support messages with Telstra to find out that apparently there was a cancellation order for Telstra Cable without my authorisation, claiming "on customer request".

          • @tolchok: Oh dear. Hope Telstra comes to the party and reconnects your Telstra Cable.

          • @tolchok: IMPORTANT: My annoyance might be directed at the wrong party. Superloop have indicated that they did not request the cancellation, so might be Telstra at fault. Superloop customer service have also been available, polite and sympathetic. Will update when I find out exactly how this happened.

I've been on chats with Telstra for 5.5 hours (no exaggeration) last night because they apparently aren't running a call centre at the moment for lowly issues like having no internet. I'm on another one this morning since 9:24am, with no response since 9:26am.

  • Bloody hell that was quick and easy, 20 minute cut over, rebooted the router and now up and running again - 106 down!

    • Congrats! So easy to switch NBN providers, and now 6 weeks free. Yay!

  • I live in an MDU and when I went with Launtel earlier this year, was first time I had a 100mbps plan, usually on 50/20 before when I was with ABB/Superloop.

It never reached 100, always hovered around 7.2MB/s downing linux ISOs and thought it must be due to HFC issues and network layout in the MDU and not really a Launtel/Vocus thing. Speed test in the router was about 75-80.

Switched to this Superloop deal and speed test in the router was 106mbps! But download is about the same, averaging 7.4mb/s.

First Tracert is Launtel, second is Superloop.

    • Was on 50/20 with ABB and got 54ish with speed test. Linux ISO’s used to download around 6 mb/s

Switched to superloop and now getting 106-108 down and Linux isos are downloading around 11.5-12 mb/s. So pretty consistent

  • I switched from TPG. Connected this morning but the Huawei modem I had from TPG is not working for Superloop. Spent the whole morning with Superloop support. I was told I could buy a new modem from Superloop and have it shipped to me (Vic in lockdown). So I think don’t connect unless you know your modem works.

    • What NBN connection is it?
      HFC doesn't need separate modem.
For FTTC or FTTN may need reconfiguration of the modem.
One would think there should be no reason why your old device can't be reconfigured unless it's locked in some way.

      • FTTC here and the standard NBN modem you recieve when you first connect (white box) will work for everything.

@lousy - do you mean your router?

  • Does anyone know if I am still eligible if I sign up prior to 30 September, but set my activation date in October?

  • can we pay the difference for an upgrade to 100/40 once we have signed up?

ie. get 100/40 immediately and just pay the extra $10 or so dollars a month extra or do we have to wait the extra 6 weeks?

  • What about the modem/ router cost?

    • Source your own

  • +1

Did anyone else receive a bill from Superloop early this morning? They seem to have charged me

    • +1

      This is for next month

    • Did they charge you for a whole month? Or 2 weeks ?

      • They charged me $55.35

        • You were charged 2 weeks in ?

  • Can i use them for 6 weeks and disconnect or swap over to another provider?

    • +2

Yes, but they are hoping that you will be pleased with the performance and service and so will stay.

      • cheers

      • so first month will be free, and second month if I stay will be $55.35? and then 89.95$ moving ahead

        • yep

        • How did you reach the $55.35 figure ?

          • +2

@HardQuiz: assuming i stay on the 100/20 plan

            credit 124.55

first month bill = 0 (89.95 deducted from the credit, remaining $34.6 credit)

            second month bill = 55.35 (89.95-34.6)

            • @kehuehue: Thanks. I wish they’d give us the $124.55 credit and let us decide how/what speed to use it on.

              • +2

                @HardQuiz: I wish they’d give us 52 weeks free.

But you know what, I’m pretty grateful I’m getting 100 down internet for free for 6 weeks

  • I am getting a "Server Error" when attempting to sign up after putting in the payment details. Can anyone advise if they are able to sign up this morning? I just want to check if its just me or an issue with super loop.

  • +3

Signed up 3 days ago, and I'm very happy with the service so far.
I used a random referral code from here and spent like only 2 minutes at the sign up page. With the BPAY payment option, I didn't need to provide any credit card information.
After 4 minutes later, I got the sms message that my service is connected and ready to use. (It was a Friday morning.)

    FTTP Werribee. (Melbourne)
    speedtest.net 105-107mbps at anytime I tried.
    107 mbps / 19 mbps at 10 p.m.
    https://www.speedtest.net/result/9993024175.png

    Previously 90-95 mbps with TPG.

For a gamer who is playing on international game servers, this can be a great choice for you. I got huge improvements without any vpn usage.
I used to use TPG and now with Superloop, ~270ms to ~225ms US East, and, ~220ms to ~170ms US West.
    Singapore ~130ms to ~85ms, H.K. ~220ms to ~130ms.
    Europe ~360ms to ~240ms

  • Can anyone tell me if the credit is reflected on the summary page?

I note on the first page the referrers code is entered and there is a tick next to it, but then when I proceed to the summary page there is no mention of the credit just the $89.95 total minimum cost over 1 month.

    • Yes. If you don't see the credit on the last page you did it wrong! Hope you didnt submit it Will send you a message.

  • is this deal still active? i tried clicking the referral link and it only shows 1 month free?

    • Should still be valid until 30 September.

    • Yea but go to next step, will show $125 ish bucks in credits. Just signed up now. Thanks Op.

  • Thanks op, registered for a future date.

  • Hi all,

I’ve tried numerous random codes and in the summary page (100/40) I see No mention of 6 weeks free? Is that right? It’s saying $10 off for 6 months

You have chosen the Superloop NBN 100/40 Unlimited plan.

The typical evening download speeds for this plan are 90.0Mbps, with a maximum download speed of up to 100Mbps.

This plan includes unlimited data each month.

The monthly fee for this plan is $98.95.
In addition, the referral benefit grants you $10.00 off per month for 6 months.
Your first invoice will be raised when your nbn™ service is connected with Superloop, and will be due 14 days later

    • Choose 100/20 not 100/40 plan

  • I've today ported across to Superloop from TPG HFC 50/20… I still seem to be getting 50/20, not 100/20.

Have rebooted NBN device and my router (AC3150), and no luck getting to 100. Still maxing out at 44/18 on speedtest, which is what I was getting beforehand.

First time porting NBN - does it maybe take a few hours to sort out on the backend?

    • Shouldn't be so on HFC. Best call Superloop.
Are you sure you have been ported over tk Superloop? What does Speedtest tell you?
