Got it last week for $1200 and now it goes down to $998, I know it has been cheaper in the past but recently they have been short of stocks everywhere and price has gone up.

Haven't seen under 1k recently, reckon this is good price.

Note: Huawei P30 Pro come with Google installed, just in case some may ask.

Enjoy.

I have been looking for a P30 pro. Is this price good?

    • +9

You got too many other options for this price….

      • I know- only released for 1.5 years

        release date 2019, March 26

    • Maybe, and maybe not.
Chinese site says it's about A$861 for 8+256, but will have to pay $40 international freight fee excluding GST, let alone the difficulty on Google Services components installation.
So, it is a good price

  • good price

  • Been waiting for this for a while but only found mobiciti doing special for normal p30 constantly, and smashed my mate 20 pro two weeks ago but couldn't find p30 pro under $1200 anywhere at the time….

  • +6

Buyers beware. There were news yesterday about Huawei losing license to update Google services on their old phones. Cannot find the link though.

How is this phone still 1k?

Feel sorry for you if you paid $1200 for this last week.

    • +1

Thanks, feel the pain here too.did the research for that one and couldn't find a better price…..

  • P30 Pro $887

Also P40 pro $1097 on the same website

    • is this a trust website? is it local stock?

    • +2

This is from hk. Not local Aussie stock.

    • If I were leaving the GMS ecosystem for a Huawei I'd be buying the P40 Pro+.

Happy with my P30 Pro for now. It seems like Huawei are making inroads to supporting bank payments, if they succeed for Aussie banks I might be a convert. Google Pay is the only thing stopping me .

get a samsung s20 plus for <$800 from jb hifi. noo hassle with GMS.

    • +4

The Samsung S20 is a nice phone, but the Huawei P30 Pro has an absolutely stellar camera - it was a quantum leap in image quality when it was released last year, with a best low light (traditionally the weakest point of camera phones) capability of any phone.

See https://petapixel.com/2018/04/20/huawei-p20-pro-vs-canon-5ds… (refers to a P20, but applies equally to the P30) and https://petapixel.com/2019/03/26/huawei-p30-pro-is-an-iso-40…

I love my P20 pro still. Very snappy, great camera. Have to say though, S20 pro takes great photos too (wife has one). But fingerprint sensor under the screen is very hit and miss. I won't hurry upgrading my P20 pro for they reason, as I like its fingerprint sensor.

        • +2

So wish I hadn't upgraded to the S20+. That fingerprint sensor is just a POS.

      • i Think the oneplus 7pro competes with it now. but am unsure
also is cheaper and supports custom roms

    • +1

Cannot find the S20 plus on JB HIFI for <$800, would you mind posting the link? Much appreciated

      • One of those Telstra signup thing

    • +2

Owned both, much preferred the P30 Pro.

  • can you still install Google play shop?

    • +3

      It is already installed.

  • Was tempted to buy this until i saw this video
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN9q4gSN1nY
can anyone who has one confirm from the 8:48 mark if this is true?

    • I havent had that issue

    • No issue for me

I wonder if the Chinese communist backdoor is in the hardware or software - or both

  • P30 pro is set for a price drop, I've been holding off purchasing another for a while.
Above $1000 is inflated price - I paid $1049 at jb hifi over 12 months ago, anything higher is just trying to maximise profit
    $1000 is about standard price
I'm expecting ~$800 prices in the next few months

  • BE CAUTIOUS GUYS, since Temporary General License has just finished, now even older phones that manufactured prior May 2019 WILL NOT get any new update from Google unless ban on Huawei lifted which is not likely at this moment.

  • hmm my partner has a p20 pro i was think of just going for the nova 5t, this now may also be an option.

  • The price has dropped to match Harvey Norman and Officeworks at $997.
