  • Great price for that printer. Hard to get filament at the moment though.

    • There’s tons of places to get filament from currently. Does this have a special size or does it use the standard 1.75 or 3mm?

Hobbyking have an au warehouse, jaycar and even some office works stores sell it, there’s also a bunch of speciality stores like X3D that sell it online and I’m told from others who order specialty spools regularly (like carbon fibre blends) the shipping is quick.

      • most printers nowadays use standard 1.75mm
but you can buy 3mm nozzles if you need them

      • Tons of places that might be charging a lot more now. But looking at most places online, getting usable colours is a challenge.

  • What software is it using to turn your drawing into a 3D?

Yeah this isn't for you bro

To create your own you could start with something online like Tinkercad, or use a program such as SketchUp or Fusion 360 to create your 3D object.

Once you have your object you then need another program, a slicer like Cura or Simplify3D that will convert the object into code for the printer to use.

      • Thanks

  • How does this printer compare to the Artillery Sidewinder? https://www.banggood.com/Artillery-Sidewinder-X1-3D-Printer-…

    • It's way better

      • Oh yeah, why, apart from the BL touch?

  • That's a good price for that printer, ordered one.
Glad they upgraded the auto Leveling, it was pretty bad on the first generation.

  • GST free?

    • Says it has AU stock shipping from AU warehouse so no additional GST will be added

      • So GST included, one would expect, not disregarded.

  • Great printer, my v1 pumps out prints like a charm.

  • Got a CR-10V2 only about 6 months ago for not much less and that printer is pretty good. This touchscreen would be so nice and upgraded bl-touch would probably help in my efforts to get abs to behave

  • Purchased this a week ago for around $730. Cant wait for delivery :)

I just purchased some PLA from Jaycar to start.

    • Pla will get you thinking 3D printing is easy mode. Then you switch to abs and whaaaaat??

Not trying to be a smartarse, but how much “better” is a printer like this over the Ender 3 deal that was also posted by the rep? (https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/559497)
-Can it print with better detail/clarity (less “texture” or whatever it’s called)?
    Cheers

This printer is kind of like an Ender 3 V2 but with larger build volume (ie. printable area) in all three dimensions and with auto bed levelling which is a great feature to have.

The printer you link is the original Ender 3 (Version 1 Non-Pro).

There's ~$450 price difference which I'd say roughly breaks down to:
      ~$250 for extra build volume
      ~$200 in other upgrades

Besides the extra build volume, the upgrades are mainly quality of life improvements, not printer quality/detail/texture improvements.

Given the cost of extra build volume, it's a feature that's more for people who know they need it.

The quality of life improvements are substantial, 3D printing is a pain in the ass. If you want them without the extra build volume then buy something like an Ender 3 V2 or Biqu B1 for just under $400 and adding auto bed levelling if you want a closer match to this printers features excluding build volume which would take you slightly over $400 total.

  • Hello @banggood - would it be possible to get a coupon on a Creality CR-10 V3?
