Given the RAM, wouldnt this get bottlenecked?

    • Yep. 16 GB is the new minimum.

16 was standard a decade ago, this is just slack on a $1500 laptop.

Common standard and "your" standard are two different things. You are exaggerating. Be realistic and scale accordingly to this price range.

@shiny1: Sorry I meant on PC's, not laptops.

    • You'd definitely want to upgrade the RAM as soon as you get it. At the minimum, you'd need to buy an 8GB stick to get 12GB RAM

This model has been $1600 for brand new and 16GB RAM in the past

    • Good pickup, can't say I searched. Just saw a good price relative to other deals being posted at the moment and thought it's worth a share.

Let's hope Dell run that promo again if people want to wait and are interested in this model as new that's a pretty good deal.

The 2070 max P model was also a great deal for those that picked it up as well.

Laptop prices seem to be all over the place at the moment and pre end of March prices seem like a pipedream.

Even previous sales seem to sometimes be a one off and never to be repeated (see Dell with the G5 se 4800h and 144hz panel)

Most of the sales are way overpriced for what you get (see JB's supposed sale on 1650s compared to what you could get from Lenovo last week) and if someone wants one now you could do a lot worse than this laptop for the specs on offer.

There's always decent deals when Dell runs their eBay 20% off sale which are fairly regular. I'd wait for that if possible

There can be great Dell deals especially when they don't realise multiple discounts can stack, or they have a great deal on a reasonably specced gaming model.

I'd wait as long as possible too if you can, though some people might need something now or this ticks all their boxes and they can handle the 8gb of ram (least it's in dual channel)

  • Note these refurbs chassis maybe the ones with an overheating problem and undervolting doesn't seem to help.
