Sorry if this is a repost but with the release of the new Flight Simulator I thought I'd post it for those that don't know.
Note: This only works if you don’t currently have any active subscriptions and haven’t already used the $1 upgrade/trial on your account yet.
Edit: Thanks to ShortyX, It seems like you may be able to do the $1 conversion more than once provided that it has already expired.
Edit 2: It seems like if you've already done the $1 conversion/trial, it will cost you $15.95 to do the conversion the second time.

Steps are as follows:

  1. Create Xbox AU account here: https://www.xbox.com/en-AU (or use existing).
  2. Get 12 month Xbox Live subscriptions here for $34: https://www.g2a.com/en-au/xbox-live-gold-subscription-card-1…
    I purchased from the "Floatingclouds" seller. BACK IN STOCK
  3. Get a Brazillian VPN. If the one you have doesn't work in Step 5 (my paid SurfShark one gave me errors when redeeming), try this free Chrome Extension (G2A seller recommended this one and it worked): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/free-vpn/jcbiifklm…
  4. Connect to Brazil VPN and go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/. Login to your Microsoft/Xbox account if not already. (I opted to login to my Microsoft account with a one-time code sent to my email rather than using my password as a precaution while using a sketchy VPN/extension.)
  5. Repeat redemption for all of the codes. I had to try a couple times for each one as the VPN is free and slow, I think it times out. Note: Make sure you don’t opt-in to automatic renewal for the 1 bonus month. This will prevent you from redeeming the 3rd 12 month pass.
  6. Once you have redeemed as many as you want (max of 3 for 36 months), you can then opt to “upgrade” to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. I did this in the Microsoft account/subscriptions page, but I think you can also do it here: https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/live/gold/upgrade. Note: Don't use the VPN for this part.

Hopefully that's clear enough. Not sure how much longer this offer is going to be around for so I'd probably jump on it if interested. If I've missed any steps or there are better VPN's/key prices let me know and I'll update the post. Cheers!

      I just used CDkeys again now to top up my Live Gold. Never had a problem with their codes.

        Thanks. I dont get whats going on,Tunnelbear,nord and windscribe all give me legit Brazil ip. When I try and redeem,only Tunnelbear does not say Australia,but says UK for some reason. Obviously,still cant rdeem. Pulling my hair out. I've also tried on mobile and windows 10 with both the site and xbox app,I dunno what the hell Im missing.

              @Robstar350: On my pc,I chaned my location in Windows to Brazil as well,that seemed to have changed the country in brackets to "Brasil" Tunnelbear was the only VPN that changed it,but for some reason it says United Kingdom. Everything else I try,it just keep saying Australia. I hope they will refund,Im obviously to stupid for this trick

              PS Will try again in a bit,but Im sure it only chnaged to Brasil in the xbox windows app,not on the site.

                  @Robstar350: Just open Chrome in an incognito window and use your VPN to brazil. It will change the (Australia) window to (brasil). Also try to go directly to https://redeem.microsoft.com/ then login after that.

                @boondocksaint: After much researching, the issue is the VPNs.. It doesn't matter if it says Australia in brackets when you log in. Express VPN brazil IPs are flashing up as geoblocking… and only some of Nords work. As for the codes buy them from CDkeys. I just bought 3 years worth and it worked using Nord.

                  @Robstar350: This is so insane… The seller told me the key is valid, so refund not possible. I don't even know how they can check it without actually using it? I've tried Nord and Tunnelbear again, I've even created a new microsoft account, no luck. All I get is "Code not found. Try re-entering it. If that doesn't work, contact the merchant."

                    @boondocksaint: What exactly does the error code say? Also make sure you don't confuse A with R. 2 of mine from MTC games worked in the end but 1 had all ready been redeemed. Also with Nord it took 4 different tries using different IPs for it to work

              @Penpinch: I never got that specific error. My situation was a bit different to others, here is what I had to do.

              1. The code is really difficult to read, R and A which seem simple to de-cipher, was not.
              2. Once I got the correct code, it said the token was not found, the although the code was valid, my VPN was acting up.
              3. I had to use my phone on 4G, and connect to the VPN (Nord) as no other combination of connection or VPN worked for me. And activate the keys. (Try this)
              4. Had to migrate my region (Originally created in South Africa)
              5. Had to buy and activate and once off 1 month ultimate card to upgrade while using the VPN (normal users should not use the vpn), somewhere in the migration process something broke I think.

              Luckily I got everything sorted after loads of swearing and messing around.

    Still works like a charm for me, even if the codes are a bit more expensive now. I purchased one from CDKeys.com and another slightly cheaper one from CJS CD Key no problem.

      How long did it take for you to get the code from CDKeys (and how many previous orders do you have you made with them)? I tried to buy a key yesterday directly using my card but the transaction failed so I rebought it today using my Paypal but its been stuck on "On Hold" (originally "Under Review") for the last 2.5 hours. How was you experience with CJS?

      Beware of CJS keys for whoever is reading here. I bought from that link and the order took a day to get approved after I submitted a support ticket. After that, when I try to collect my keys from them, the system says the keys are in freaking back-order even though their product page still says the keys are in stock. WTF. waiting for a day and it is still in back-order. Going to ask for refund.

      Mate you are a legend! I had never heard of CJS before your comment but decided to them a go and after a couple days of waiting for the purchase to clear + an additional day waiting for them to restock the keys, I redeemed all three keys and converted them to GPU with no issues (with Surfshark VPN). You've saved me a ton of trouble trying to deal with CDKeys or risk buying from G2A.

    DON’T USE G2A for acquiring the Brazilian Xbox keys…

    The deal DOES work, verified by my friend whom we both were following the guide at the same time, however, as he was successfully applying the final 12 months to make it a total of 36 months… I received two ( invalid ) already redeemed keys from purchasing my second and third keys in one transaction. I had only just successfully did the first 12 months and saw the redeeming of the key work… so I felt confident that it’s legit because my friend was already at the end and I was in progress…

    KEYS ALREADY REDEEMED… MS would not accept my second and third keys that I purchased from the seller linked on this post… MS would only indicate them as being already redeemed.

    G2A BLOCKED MY ACCOUNT… while I was opening a dispute for the 2 invalid ( already redeemed ) keys and was waiting for a response… I then discovered my account became blocked and I could no longer login to check my dispute or continue to communicate.

    G2A WANTS MY PHOTO ID… for an online market place, I will not be giving them a scan of any photo identification… this is how your identity can be stolen and you’re also trusting them to handle your information… I only made an account with a single purpose and don’t trust them beyond knowing them as an online market place… they’re refusing to support me while my account is blocked and now I am having to get a refund from PayPal which thankfully I used for purchase… not that I would because who uses CC details anymore with random sites but if I did then I would be stuck with dealing with CC fraud concerns.

    TLDR
    G2A SHOULD NOT BE TRUSTED, buy the key from anywhere else but preferably somewhere you can trust and 100% not from G2A… you’ve been warned…
    DEAL DOES WORK THOUGH! NEED LEGIT KEYS!

Even not including G2A's other shady practices, it is always worth it to pay that tiny bit more for trusted/dedicated sellers like CDKeys.com and CJS. The OP should really have a bigger warning for G2A.

    Finally got around to doing this, bought 3 years worth of Brazil cards from a seller on G2A, the 3rd key came up as "can't be redeemed, contact the seller" which was very annoying! Good thing was as soon as I sent the seller a message, they offered a refund straight away.

    Been waiting for Brazil keys to be availbel for cheap again but that hasn't happened so bought an extra 12 months from another seller for $44 (US store).

    Went to activate it all, no issues, but as I already used the $1 tracfers a while ago, I had to pay the $.15.99 subsciption fee as well.

    it was a U.S card but was cheaper than i could find the brazil ones for at the moment

      We got our Xbox one X at xmas time and used the $1 first month then 6 months of Ultimate.
      We're due to go onto the monthly $15 Ultimate plan on 16 Oct.
      So can I still do the $1 upgrade?
      I just thought if you by 12 months of gold that converts to 8 months of Ultimate.

      Old and confused, just trying to get this shit sorted for the kids so they don't crack it!!!!! LOL

        You need to make sure you have no current active subscription. If you had used the $1 promo before and it was a while ago then you are probably eligible for it again (If not you just pay the one off $15.95 which is still worth it). The gold conversion is 1:1, so once you pay the upgrade 12 months gold = 12 months Ultimate, plus you get an extra month from the upgrade you just paid (Unless you are getting 3 years).

          Still in a subscription untill the 15th Oct then it goes into the monthly payment direct debit of $15.XX.
          So do I let this run out and do it when it does?
          Can I then use my existing microsoft login so I won't lose any saved stuff?
          Can I buy the Xbox Subscriptions now (seeing as they seem to be increasing in price every day!) and then use when I'm ready?

            @cactus68: Yup make sure to let it run out, meaning cancel your recurring subscription now so that it does not auto-renew on the 15th Oct. Once it has properly expired on the 15th/16th then you can apply the gold and do the upgrade. You can do it to your existing account no matter which region it was created in, no need to create a new one and yes you can purchase the gold subscriptions now since they don't expire.

    I can confirm that CJS works well (although a little slow) https://www.cjs-cdkeys.com/products/Xbox-LIVE-12-Month-Gold-… . I bought three codes using Paypal at 10pm on the 18th and it took until 8am on the 22nd for the order to process and then I had to wait another 24hrs for them to restock the keys (despite the site saying "10+ in stock"). However once I got the keys I was able to redeem them with no issues (with Surfshark VPN) and convert the 3 years to GPU for $1.
    Although if you're looking to buy from them, I'd probably recommend buying USA keys as they're slightly cheaper and it seems they are more in stock (while my Brazil codes were sitting on backorder I could see others buying and instantly redeeming USA codes). According to their site you should be able to redeem USA codes using a USA VPN the same way you redeem Brazil codes using a Brazil VPN.

    I ordered keys from a seller called 'Playdistribution' from G2A. All three keys were already used. I filed a claim in G2A. 7 days passed with no answer. So I started the 'Money Back Guarantee' process on G2A. I got no answer for another week. So I filed a claim under PayPal. Now G2A has replied saying 'it has been noted that there was another claim opened on your payment provider's side. In such circumstances, due to the fact, that the complaint cannot be processed via two channels simultaneously, the process of the Money Back Guarantee application won’t be possible'.

    Will PayPal be able to get me my money back? I have no idea how the claims systems work. What should I do?

      The Paypal process is long but it has worked for me before for other purchases, it's basically just a back and forth with the seller until Paypal make a final judgement. I'm not sure how they deal with CD Keys though.

    However, got caught up in their "fraud detection" process, which is a major pain to deal with.
    I would reccomend - if you are creating an acccount to use the same email address as your main paypal id, I think thats what triggers it (I used another email).

    Purchased the USA codes (cheaper), and used surfshark vpn fine after that
    total of $161AU

      Yeah, I got caught up in this fraud detection process too. Logged a ticket and managed to get out of it very quickly. I'd used PayPal as well.

      Initially they wanted all kinds of ID. Finally I just sent them a photo of a credit card with just my name on it (and everything else meticulously blacked out). They seemed to accept this.

      When I did get the keys.. 5 minutes later, followed the instructions on this post and got game pass ultimate activated for 3 years.. great deal.

    I've got Xbox game pass ultimate till 1/22 so 15 months worth ( sort of cheaply done through last ultimate upgrade).. Not cheaper, but guess just waiting for a jbhifi half price game pass would be the go for me given time remaining? Damn though, regret jumping on the upgrade initially now! Well done to all who got the 3 years awesome deal

    Why are the prices increasing so much daily???????

    New Xbox coming out, any chance of deals for Xbox subscriptions.
    (Back in Dec we got 3 months Ultimate free when we purchased 3 months!)

      The Xbox PC game pass price was increased by 120% after it left "beta".

      Next month the pass will include EA play.
