[PC, XBOX] Xbox Game Pass Ultimate - up to 36 Months for ~A$102.50 (A$2.85/Month) - Brazilian VPN Required

3340

Sorry if this is a repost but with the release of the new Flight Simulator I thought I'd post it for those that don't know.
Note: This only works if you don’t currently have any active subscriptions and haven’t already used the $1 upgrade/trial on your account yet.
Edit: Thanks to ShortyX, It seems like you may be able to do the $1 conversion more than once provided that it has already expired.
Edit 2: It seems like if you've already done the $1 conversion/trial, it will cost you $15.95 to do the conversion the second time.

Steps are as follows:

  1. Create Xbox AU account here: https://www.xbox.com/en-AU (or use existing).
  2. Get 12 month Xbox Live subscriptions here for $34: https://www.g2a.com/en-au/xbox-live-gold-subscription-card-1…
I purchased from the "Floatingclouds" seller. BACK IN STOCK
  3. Get a Brazillian VPN. If the one you have doesn't work in Step 5 (my paid SurfShark one gave me errors when redeeming), try this free Chrome Extension (G2A seller recommended this one and it worked): https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/free-vpn/jcbiifklm…
  4. Connect to Brazil VPN and go to https://redeem.microsoft.com/. Login to your Microsoft/Xbox account if not already. (I opted to login to my Microsoft account with a one-time code sent to my email rather than using my password as a precaution while using a sketchy VPN/extension.)
  5. Repeat redemption for all of the codes. I had to try a couple times for each one as the VPN is free and slow, I think it times out. Note: Make sure you don’t opt-in to automatic renewal for the 1 bonus month. This will prevent you from redeeming the 3rd 12 month pass.
  6. Once you have redeemed as many as you want (max of 3 for 36 months), you can then opt to “upgrade” to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. I did this in the Microsoft account/subscriptions page, but I think you can also do it here: https://www.xbox.com/en-AU/live/gold/upgrade. Note: Don't use the VPN for this part.

Hopefully that's clear enough. Not sure how much longer this offer is going to be around for so I'd probably jump on it if interested. If I've missed any steps or there are better VPN's/key prices let me know and I'll update the post. Cheers!

If the keys are out of stock, here's a list of some other sites I was considering before I purchased (not quite as cheap):
https://www.electronicfirst.com/12-month-xbox-live-gold-memb… (Warning: some users reporting ID verification required)
https://www.gamivo.com/product/xbox-live-gold-12-month-brazi… (Warning: some users reporting ID verification required)
https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-l…
Note: Buy at your own risk, I cannot speak for the legitimacy of these sellers

Edit: Floatingclouds on G2A is back in stock here (scroll down, top of the list): https://www.g2a.com/xbox-live-gold-subscription-card-12-mont…

Note/Comparison: Australian Xbox Game Pass Ultimate has RRP of $574.20 for 36 months ($15.95/Month)

  • Is there any logic in just buying 36 months of Australian Xbox and doing this all legitimately? Only about $180. Still a great saving on the $600 RRP and prevents potentially pissing away $120 like I just did?

    • Seems you were a bit unlucky with that ID verification request..Surely you'll get it back though. Where can you get $60 12 month Xbox Live Gold subscriptions?

    • Saving 40%+ on the $180 would be my answer, but sucks it didn't work out for you. Hopefully you get the refund etc easy enough

      • The danger for me is that I could now go and splash $120 at CD Keys buying up 3 years worth and then gamivo just go ‘nah we don’t need verification here you go!’ I’ll end up with 6 years worth!

    • Is there any logic in just buying 36 months of Australian Xbox and doing this all legitimately?

Your brain says yes, but your heart goes: but all those OZBers got the same deal for $102.5.

then gamivo just go ‘nah we don’t need verification here you go!’ I’ll end up with 6 years worth!

Are you sure you can stack up to 6 years?

You might need to sell that 36 months to me for $36 and after I received the code electronically, I will raise an item not received claim (of course I am kidding).

Sort out the gamivo mess first. I reckon Microsoft will include a 1 month GamePass Ultimate voucher code for every XBox Series S|X console. Even if that voucher is restricted to new player only, you can contact Microsoft Support to fix that up for you and apply 1 month extra (worked for me before for XB1X GamePass voucher code).

If Microsoft dared to stop offering crazy GamePass Ultimate deals, I am happy to give Microsoft the middle finger and save the money towards a PC GPU or PS5, instead of burning cash on an XBox Series X.

  • +1

Thanks OP, still working. Purchased my keys from G2A $39.49 each.

    • +2

Exact Same experience. Still working. Had to pay the $15.95 but all good. Installing Flight Simulator right now. Thank god for 1000/50!

    • +3

Yup, just confirming - followed all the steps as per OP's instructions, including G2A Floating Clouds purchase. Completed successfully just before 10:00 pm AEST, still working.

Can also confirm that Surfsharks VPN does not work.

Thanks OP, wish I had bought it @ $102, but oh well - still a good deal.

Heads up: You can also use Cashrewards for 2.8% back!

  • Worked for me, thanks OP.

Was reducing to 4 of the 12 months per Gold voucher if I tried redeeming through my UK account, which has an active subscription until January. Needed to make an Aus account anyway, and the switch is still worth it—-even with the 5 months being lost to the overlap.

  • I went for it and just bought through G2A and all worked beautifully thanks OP. Just got to chase down Gamivo now… at least I’ve got a tonne of games to play while I do…

  • I have an xbox live gold 12 month code sitting around because I accidentally signed up to a 1 month trial taking it to 25 months initially. I converted to game pass ultimate then, and I still have the code. Does anyone know if I can now add the code and have the game pass ultimate added to that?

    • +1

You can but it gets converted at a different rate (not 1:1). 12 months of Gold converts to 4 months of Game Pass Ultimate. Info here under "After I join Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, can I still redeem Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass codes?"

    • +1

Don't do that because the conversion ratio when you are on active GamePass Ultimate is really bad.

If you are really unhappy with the situation, try contacting XBox customer support, explain to them that you did not know the conversion rules and did things in the wrong order. Ask the customer support rep whether he/she can fix it for you. The CSR might be willing to apply that code for you and then perform a special once off to extend your GP Ultimate further to give you an additional 12 months overall.

If the CSR were not able to do that, you are better off waiting for your current subscription to expire and then re-do it, assuming the XBox Live Gold code will still be valid then.

  • Didn't realise they (g2a) were going to call me, phone was on silent. Now just stuck on waiting for payment for almost an hour…… ffs…

    • Did they call back?

      • Nope. :(

        • Great…also missed their call since it's 1AM and had DND on.

          • @Satirical: yeah they called me back at 3:30 am, which i missed.

        • I just called the Polish # and got someone in a minute. Tried to brush me off real quick and simply told me to email [email protected]

  • I tried to Redeem Code using Brazil VPN but it is not working due to country restrictions….
Not sure why my email address appears as " [email protected] (Australia) " … Tried to change the country to Brazil in my profile but no luck….

Any ideas how to get around it … ??

    • did you confirm your vpn is working properly? (make sure your ip shows as in brazil)

      • +1

all good it worked eventually .. I tried different VPN and used it logging via Mobile ….
        thanks…

  • I saw a seller on eBay selling XGPU for $99 one year
Is this the same way ? Which one better?? Cheers guys

    • +1

Yes Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (XGPU) is the end result.

This method is better value because its 3 years of XGPU for $120 odd vs $99 for 1 year.

  • +2

Awesome this worked for me using my old Xbox live account that's been dormant since the Xbox 360 days. Bought x3 from the "fasteasygames" seller for $120. Then got the upgrade for $1 and converted all 36 months to Ultimate.

Thanks for the great post Elliot, finally gave me the confidence to go through with this method.

  • +1

Thanks OP! I was just contemplating on spending $250 for the 3 years this morning. I know the regular hack has been available for awhile but the VPN one takes the cake in value.

EDIT: I'm in some payment queue hell…

    • +1

If you miss the phone call, give them an email or create a ticket to get it resolved. Took 30 minutes.

  • +4

Just completed this , subscription till 21/08/2023.
    - Bought 3x XBOX Gold 12m from Floatingclouds, paid with PayPal on G2A no issues
    - Connected to Brazil via ExpressVPN and redeemed all three, turning off the 1m for recurring billing each time
    - Disconnected VPN and performed the $1 conversion for XGPU
    - Turned off recurring billing so it will not renew at the normal rate once expired.

    Cheers OP!

    • About to do the same, but the prices keep changing
how much did u have to pay?

      • +1

The sellers see the demand. I paid $40.40 last night after the $39.44 seller sold out (same one who jacked it from $34). Now my seller jacked it to $45. Cdkeys.com still has it for $42.79

        • just bought 2 years from cdkeys, but lowkey confused af with their website ahha made an account for my code but its not showing it.. hmm

      • +1

I paid $40 each for 3 years of codes, so $120 total. Still an amazing deal I reckon.

  • Anyone else grabbing this who doesn’t have an Xbox or gaming PC?

    • and use it on what… ps4? lol

      • +1

Nah I plan on buying the series x and figure I’m better securing this than have them pull the plug on the deal altogether as games pass is a no brainer with series x.

        • ah i see, yeah good idea

        • +1

Well, yeah, if you are getting Series X obviously get this, Game Pass includes every Microsoft published game so every Halo, Gears, Forza and all the new games like Fable and Perfect Dark if it comes to be etc. I dont really understand anyone on Xbox not having GP tbh, it's the best thing in gaming on any console by an absolute mile.

          • @Iggemo: I don't see the need to have GP constantly because I am on 3 platforms (XB1X, PC, PS4). So far, Microsoft has introduced $1/month every time a new first party exclusive is on. Honestly, there aren't that many new exclusives per year. Forza H4 was 2018, wasn't it? Gears 5 was last year. Gears 5 was buggy initially on PC. Ended up playing it mostly on XB1X.

Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that I only paid $2 to play both Forza H4 and Gears 5. $34/year prepaid for renting games - I guess is a great deal. I kind of prefer to just use the $100 to buy Fable. Also, I should be able to accumulate enough MS reward points per year for at least 1 GamePass Ultimate 1 month voucher so if I could squeeze my game play to 1 month, it will basically be free.

My concern is whether to buy the $1/month promotion that's likely to happen this November/December. Which game do I get to play though? I don't think I will still be playing flight sim by then.

            • @netsurfer: Lately i've been playing Yakuza Kiwami 1, Undermine, Battletoads, New Super Lucky's Tale, Darksiders Genesis and Spiritfarer - and these are nearly all games JUST added in the last week or two. If you think there is `only' first-party games on there you're truly missing out. So many brilliant, brilliant games (like Spiritfarer for example) i would otherwise never have played.

              • @Iggemo: I am not missing out. I will just try them out whenever a $1/month deal is available (if I want). I still have 3 unused GamePass vouchers.

Also, I am on 3 camps. Switching to Sony temporary for now due to new exclusives recently.

GamePass, honestly, far too many times I played games which I don't really want to play. All those games you mention don't really interest me. I am still on GamePass Ultimate, thanks to AMD's 3 months GamePass PC voucher for getting an AMD CPU last year. And, $1/month conversion a few months ago.

Still have backlog of PC games to play. GamePass just adds to that backlog.

  • Hi Guys,
i've done the 36 months Brazilian xbox offer - all good
The $1 upgrade is that only for one month? Not sure how I get it to work for all 36 months

    Thanks,
    Dave

    • +1

I thought the same, but it seems to have applied for all 36 months, check your account.

      • All good! Thanks mate
I bit the bullet and it said expiry 2023. Happy days!

  • I wish this worked on current subscriptions.
    Still got 6 months left.

    • +1

I’m in the same boat but have 12 months left on my sub. I stocked up on a years worth when JB Hifi had it for half price. Sucks. Wish there was something we could do.

      • Yeah this hurts, I purchased til Dec 2021 as I thought for sure they'd put the lid on this scheme pretty quick. Wasn't smart / devious enough to think of using a VPN, so all told I probably paid about $140ish for 2~ years. Not bad but clearly not as good as this :<

  • wondering if i shall wait till my current active pass expires 14/09 or redeem codes using brand new account ?

  • +1

Great, Thanks OP! Perfect instructions. Worked for me using Nord. Cheers.

  • Ended up just over $120. Excellent deal.

Cheaper than buying a couple of games.

  • Can you play all the games on pc if I get this? Just wanna make sure before committing :)

    • Only PC games. Not all.
There are Xbox only games, pc only games and games compatible on both.

  • I just turned off recurring billing - my plan expires next month and I have previously used the $1 dollar promo. WIll I still be able to use this??

  • Just wondering if this might work. If you had 12 months left of your current GPU on profile A, but wanted to extend it, could you create Profile B, get the 36 months, log into your xbox as Profile B then go back to your original Profile A and still have access for another 36 months to GPU because of the sharing feature?

Could be a way to extend for those of us who have too long left on current Subscription

    • +1

That's what i did but i was only losing one month not a whole year.

      • Cool thanks for the heads up

      • Can you still play online with profile A if profile B has the gold/ultimate pass? Thanks.

        • Yep it shares to all accounts on the Xbox.

    • Yes you can do this. This is exactly what I have done. I had 7 months to go on my ultimate. Created an account for my partner and got the 36 months of ultimate. Made sure to set her account as home on the Xbox as well. So it shares the ultimate across both.

  • Don’t buy from cdkeys.. been nearly 2 hours and haven’t received my codes.

    • Did you check your junk folder?

      • Yeah, I got email confirmation in inbox, it redirects to their website
I see my order but theres no code.
        Just stuck on "Under Review"

    • Lol wtf, they just refunded my order. Cool

  • +2

Just purchased 3x codes from Electronic First for $114.93 AUD (only accept Paypal payment)
Did require ID verification if you've never bought from them before

They asked for a scan of any letter that shows your name and address (must match the name and address on your Paypal receipt), and your mobile number (didn't get a call from them though).
After that they will send you an order confirmation email (waited for less than 30mins), but you actually need to reply and confirm that you want the Brazil codes.
Shortly after that, 3 codes were sent to me in email.
Overall the shopping experience was good, if you don't mind to send your personal information.

I used the Tunnel Bear VPN app on my Android phone to redeem the codes without any issues.

    • Ok thanks for details, I think I will try this now since cdkeys cancelled my order

      • omg… they cancelled my order aswell
        Why is this happening lol

    • +2

Thanks, did the same after I read your post from ElectronicFirst (the G2A was already over $45 when I did). Used their FB discount (they emailed one-off discount code if you liked their FB page), and ended up paying 111.48 via paypal.
They only sent email to ask whether I really want Brazil one (no ID check for me eventhough this is my first time too), few minutes after I purchased, and got the code like 5 minutes later once I replied (luckily I read yours, really helpful).
Used TunnerBear too for VPN, as the free one in the post was really slow for me. Can confirm the paid SurfShark is useless for this - whatmyipaddress.com still showing I'm in Australia after connecting to Brazil, where TunnelBear is showing Sao Paulo :()
Redeemed the code on my kids account (no GPU trial before, so $1) as his birthday present.
Thanks for this and Op for posting, very easy guide to follow.

  • Thanks OP, Finally got 36 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. total cost me $125AUD.

    • I keep having issues with sellers, where did u buy from?

  • +4

Alrighty! So i've followed the steps cautiously and was successful in activating and getting 3 years of membership on xbox gold (later converted to xbox ultimate pass)

So I'll log what i've done step by step. (Note: I am on Win 10 with a main sign-in already)

    1. Buy yourself 3x Xbox 12 Months Gold Cd Keys (Bought from CDKey for 42.79 (Note: You'll need to sign up an account to activate keys)
    2. Activate a VPN connected to Brazil (I got NordVPN so easy one-click)
    3. Once connected to Brazil, go to https://redeem.microsoft.com and redeem the 3 keys one at a time.

IMPORTANT(Note: Each time before you finalize a key activation, YOU MUST TURN OFF recurring billing (automatic renewal) You'll have to do this 3 times IMPORTANT
(Don't get tempted by the extra 1 month or you can't claim all 3 keys)

    1. After confirming you now have 36 months of Xbox Gold, TURN OFF VPN and go to

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-au/p/xbox-game-pass-ultimate/cf…

and Upgrade to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1 (or 15.95 if you have already used the $1 trial before)

    1. Finally when you have Upgraded to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, go to https://account.microsoft.com/services/ and TURN OFF "Recurring Billing" one last time for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (Ctrl + F find it if you can't see it).

And that's how I got 3 Years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for the total price of $129.37AUD (including $1)

    Hope this helps! Happy Hunting.

    And Thank You OP <3

    • Did you use a new account or an expired sub account?

      • +1

It was neither new or expired, I had my windows 10 microsoft account with my old xbox gamer tag linked together. Also I never used the $1 promotion for xbox pass so I didn't have to pay 15.95

        Does that answer your Q??

    • When you signed up for cdkeys account, did you use details in Australia? Or did you make up a Brazilian address?

      • +1

Aus details because i'm purchasing the keys as an Aussie Customer from the link provided in the top post.

        https://www.cdkeys.com/xbox-live/memberships/12-month-xbox-l…

        • Bought it off that link too and paid via Paypal but when received the receipt via email it shows the charged of $167.79. Contacted Cdkeys - no reply. So I lodged a dispute with Paypal now.

Has this ever happened to anyone?

          • @Tam: I just checked the Cdkeys link, the price increased to $44.69, but that shouldn't total to $167.79

Strange because I also paid with paypal but with no issues, so hope you get your amount back.

          • @Tam: bought 4 instead?

            • +1

              @Duff5000: Nope only 1.

Anyway CDKeys wanted me to cancel the Paypal dispute before issuing a partial refund but I told them refund me first then dispute case will be closed.

Sounds very dodgy because once I cancel the dispute and they don't refund me then I am screwed.

    • Did you Visit the redeem.microsoft website in INCOGNITO / PRIVATE BROWSING mode?

  • Did you use a new account or an expired sub account?

  • Spewing. Didn't work for me.

Went through all the steps correctly. Got 36 months of codes. Redeemed one after another turning off re-curring option.

Took off VPN, clicked on link with $1 offer. As soon as I logged into Microsoft account showed $15.95/month.

My Xbox sub ran out around a year ago. I remember previously using $1 offer before so maybe that's y didn't work 😑

    • If you read the OP's updated note, he says the people with second try will cost $15.95. Still worth doing since you already signed up the 36 months. Hope they haven't closed the loop hole before you read this.

    • +1

Yep, had the same because I had already done the $1 deal. If you pay the $15.95 once then it will work and will upgrade your 3 years to Ultimate. One time fee only. I know it's a leap of faith but it works. :)

      • +2

Pulled the trigger on ultimate @ $16 as I already bought 36 months of subs, worked fine.

36 months of ultimate @ $145, I'll get a few months use out of it, till lockdown ends in Vic.

  • it's all Spanish after getting to the payment screen and keeps dropping out :(

  • +1

Hi OP, and others who give detailed guy on how to do this. Thank you! Just did this for the wifes account and can confirm all works fine.

Even registered a cdkeys account from scratch as that gave instant delivery of the 3 keys.

Used my existing NordVPN for the Brazil swap, all was too easy.

    • i paid 130 on CD keys however no keys received, i'm opening a paypal dispute…

      • +1

If you made an account with cdkeys it will be in there.

Click on your dashboard. It's next to cart button. Scroll down to games purchased, you'll see a plus sign in the corner. Click that it should open you purchase of Xbox live and show all the keys you bought.

      • Yup sorry should have been clear. I got the key directly in my account as I logged in into cdkeys. Didn't bother checking email.

      • thanks @brettick and @starburstyellow I actually used the online chat and they helped me link the codes now I've redeemed all of them. im a happy mid-aged (multi)teenager again!! :D

  • If I only want it for PC can I just buy a discounted pass, or do I need to jump through these hoops?

Thanks if anyone can help answer!

    • This is still cheaper, and caters for both pc and xbox. I'm in same boat. Only got an old 360 and want this primarily for pc.

  • +1

done it! thanks everyone for the help!

man my heart skip a beat when i say 'gold membership cancelled' i was like WTF? then it says 'now upgraded to ultimate' and also the next billing date is 2023!!! oh yeah.

  • Damn, wish I could use this for an existing GamePass subscription

    • there's a way around it, which I just did.

I've got an original one that I have all my saves on it, paid monthly, so I unsubscribed.

I then went ahead and bought 3 years and created a new account and redeemed.

Now I log into my xbox one with the new account, then make it 'my home xbox'

now i log back to my previous account, it still works.

  • Hi guys, for those who want to use it while still have an active subscription for the rest of the month, I thought I might explain how I used a new account while still being about to keep the old account's saves going.

First, see this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qdjyolg-VCA he explains how to share the ultimate pass by making your xbox 'home xbox'.

    Basically what I did was
    1. get a new account, put those 3 years sub into it.
    2. cancel the previous account's subscription.
    3. login using the new account, make it home xbox
    4. login using the previous account and keep playing your game.

It'll annoy you by saying 'you have 9 days until you lose all your games' but fear not cos you have the new account's ultimate still working there.

I haven't tried if I can install new games via iphone app like I used to do. but I can totally switch to the new account and manual.y do that.

As for windows PC however you'll lose your saves - I wasn't able to retrieve the previous save however I'm not too worried. My PC is not as powerful as my xbox one x haha. I don't really use it to play any AAA games at all.

    • TLDR

Only one account on an Xbox needs to be set to Home with an active subscription for all the other accounts to gain benefits so the moment you set the new account to Home even if the other account didn't have gold still it would have because the other Account does and it's set to Home on the console

    • Does your old account still auto login? I don’t want to have to switch accounts every time I boot up if I do this to be able to use live etc. I’m contemplating doing this even though I have a year to run on my ultimate sub… massive waste but I’d still be effectively paying only $120 for the additional 2 years. That’s still about $80 cheaper than 2 years worth at the half price JB deals that semi regularly come up.

  • I tried adding 36 months to my existing XBL account but the 3rd code didn't apply; is that because you can only extend 36 months in total on your account, not per transaction? I guess it's obvious now that I think about it… it's the same reason if you accidentally don't turn off the 1 month extra for auto-renew it fails on the 3rd one, yeah?

If so, my XBL account was due to expire on the 26/09 this year. So should I wait a month and then apply the 3rd code or is that too risky? I bought from the suggested floating clouds seller on G2A. It also means I can't convert to GP Ultimate until then either.

Or should I just go ahead and upgrade my existing XBL account now, and then add the 3rd code, losing 8 months in the 1:4 downgrade?

Or is there some other better option I haven't considered?

    • I was thinking about activating it on the third one as well but you will gain an extra month then you would technically have to wait out that month before you could convert if that makes sense because you've got 36 months plus one extra
