  • Thank you! I was just looking up any iTunes cards on sale 5 minutes ago.

    • It's probably worth looking at what your subscriptions will cost for the year ahead with Apple and buying that amount of gift cards upfront. Who knows if Apple will allow these sales in the future, after they finish merging iTunes and the Apple Store gift cards around the world.

      • +1

It's probably worth looking at what your subscriptions will cost for the year ahead with Apple and buying that amount of gift cards upfront.

I wouldn't do that, especially if Apple go the way of Google and decide to kick everyone off Netflix via iTunes billing. I know a few OzBargainers complained that they had built up all this credit to use on Netflix, only to find that they were no longer able to and (to them) now had useless credit.

        • Does Netflix let you pay a year ahead like Disney+? Only for those who can still pay by iTunes. My iTunes subscription is $33 a month for family iCloud and Apple Music, and $90 a year for Disney+, and I think I pay $30 a year for Infuse Pro. And sometimes I pay for Duet Display to use iPad as graphics tablet.

          • @AustriaBargain: If Apple billing is like how I was billed on Google Play and currently billed via Netflix direct, it's monthly billing.

            • @kerfuffle: Does anyone know if any of the other streaming services let you pay 12 months ahead through in app purchase?

        • +2

Why would Apple boot you off paying for Netflix? They take 15-30% of the revenue. More like Netflix blocking you fro paying via Apple.

  • Can iTune gift cards still be used to pay for Netflix sub?
(my netflix billing is via iTunes)

    • +4

If you're already paying that way, then yes

    • +1

It works for those lucky ones who set it up before it was taken down as an option.

      • That's part of why I gave up on Netflix, the 4K stream is too expensive and there's no discounts. Disney+ in 4K is only 8.99 a month, or 89.90 a year, minus 15% off these gift cards.

        • +6

Netflix Turkey or Argentina is much better

          • @fozzie: Do you need VPN just to sign up, or you need to run it when you watch as well?

            • @High: Only sign up. After not needed and works the same as the Australian one

    • Yes as long as you dont change it… Their tv app has become shit experience lately though… Takes so much time to load from launch.

  • They didn't appear in the catalog for my store. Can you please state which store catalog it's in? Thanks.

(Bonus points if anyone knows if they get honoured over here in Perth).

    • +1

Page 46 of the NSW Catalogue.

Update: Also checked the WA Catalogue, and it also on Page 46.

      • Extra points awarded, thanks! The online catalog viewer didn't go that far for me first time, but now I see it!

  • Does buying gift cards add to the minimum spend amount for delivery?

    • No, because you can't buy gift cards online for physical delivery?

  • When is Google Play's turn?!?!

  • pay with Woolies eGift?

    • +3

      Not anymore.

    • +3

2014 called and asked for their joke back

  • +8

Just as an FYI. Apple is starting to merge the iTunes/App Store card and Apple store card into one.

It will mean that if they roll it out here, it will be the end of discounts as I highly doubt they would discount any card that let you buy hardware at 15%.

Currently only in the US at the moment but likely to come to Aus in the future.

No idea when it would roll out, but if having discount credit is important to you, it may be worthwhile to stock up.

    • They are putting much more on media/entertainment services such as:

      • Apple TV+ (free if you’re a student subscriber to Apple Music)
      • Apple Arcade (with ARM-based Mac, hmmm…)
      • Apple News+ (for AU paper, you get The Australian full subscription. But I think it’s not worth it if you hardly read foreign papers)

These services in long term are expected to be a vital role on their profit reports. In fact, it already is, and is still growing strong. Discount for these? Nah. Get ready to pay the exact price for them.

Tim Cook really knows the game.

  • Correct me if I'm wrong but have there been any 20% off iTunes cards in 2020?

    • +1

20% has become a lot more rare in recent years.

The last 20% off was back in January 2020 (Coles & Costco)

  • Can we still buy with Woolworths gift cards along with other grocery items without splitting payment?

    • i don’t see why not if you’re doing instore…

    • I bought some other kind of gift card along with groceries weeks ago but couldn't complete the payment by using WWS gift card only, so i suppose it's the same with iTune card also.

      • are you saying its only possible if it was split between card and gift card?

  • Don’t forget the costco deal is still there for those that in need before this goes live.

    • Going to call OW to see if they'll price match and give me a discount off the Costco deal.

I have a Costco membership anyways, if not, could always wait till tomorrow to price match woolies.

      • +2

Based on previous experience they won’t as costco is membership only store.

  • Thanks!, building up my list of music to buy, this is arriving right on time.

  • Can I use these to buy V-Bucks?

  • Can I stack up with this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/514298, get further 10% off of iTunes card?

    • +2

Hard no… pretty clear in the description…
The 10% off offer excludes any vouchers or offers or Delivery Saver items, bag fee and crate service fee, internet cafes, purchases of smoking/tobacco products and accessories, Gift Cards (including iTunes),

  • Does anyone know if I can claim Woolies rewards points for these gift cards thanks

    • No, unless there's specific bonus points offered

      • +1

Ok thnx. Time for a little trip to the local Officeworks again. Think they still remember me coming in 2 weeks ago with a physical Coles catalogue :d

  • What do people think? If Apple merges iTunes and Apple Store gift cards like they are in the US… will we (in the near future, or even early 2021 say) be able to use these iTunes GC's to buy an iPhone say? If so, stock up at the 15% off ;)

    • No, any existing iTunes/App Store card can only be used for the original purpose. Only the new apple cards from the time the program goes live or apple store cards can be used for hardware.

  • Not available in Victoria? Can’t see it in the catalogue.. but could be going blind 🤓

  • +4

Weren’t reduced at OW this morning, successful price beat.

    • +1

      same - $100 cards for $80.75 each and $50 for $39.95 (receipt here: https://imgur.com/a/l1mXHBc)

      • +1

Strange they got the price of the $50 card wrong… should be $42.50 not $42.05.

  • -1

Can these be used to buy hardware from the apple site?

    • No. These are for the app store, iTunes music and movies etc. Can also be used for subscriptions including iCloud storage

      • I use this to pay for:
        - Netflix HD
        - Apple Music
        - iCloud Storage
        - Disney+
        - AppleTV+ (currently free trial)
        - Movie rentals / purchases
… buying gift cards this way saves a good $150/year. Would be nice to get hardware at 20% off also, but sadly no.

  • Thanks. picked up $200 worth for 170

  • Do you get Ooshies? Buy $100, 3 ooshies!

Then get Disney+ with the vouchers!

    Disney winning!

    • Not with purchases of pre-paid credit or gift cards

  • +1

itunes gift cards will be 15% @ Big W starting tomorrow.

  • Price matched at Office works with free delivery. I had to wait 15 minutes on the phone but I got them cheaper and delivered so I’m happy 😃

  • Is there a limit on how many you can buy from either Woolworths or Officeworks?

    • Woolworths use to have a 10 limit per transaction, but I'm not sure now.

  • +1

On the phone now to officeworks they say they can’t price match as for some reason they say Woolworths is only in store so can’t do as officeworks in vic closed

    • Try calling again later.

Officeworks usually price-match iTunes Gift Cards, but it depends on the employee.

    • You shouldn't have issues, I agree to hang up and call again. The person I spoke with when I said I was calling for a price beat on iTunes cards, she said "ah, you're probably wanting to beat Woolies"… yep! No issues and processed on the spot, super friendly.

  • I wonder who buys Event Cinema cards these days.

  • Got the price beat at Officeworks yesterday
Called 1300 OFFICE (5 minute wait), another 5 minute wait while the price match was being validated.

Limit of 2. Free delivery (ETA Next Business Day: Monday)

  • +1

Tried to go into Woolies this morning to grab a $50, but it wouldn't scan the 15% discount — tried 3 or 4 cards and none of them went through.
