  • Personally don't really like Gaming Laptops they tend to run really hot and cost a lot more than a desktop with similar performance

    • +1

      I work FIFO, so a desktop is a luxury I don't have..

      • Yeah in situations like yours where desktop gaming isn't viable gaming laptops definitely would fit your needs better.

I pulled the trigger as well on Vapor Pro 15,

I love it so far!! Been using it to do work and the battery is amazing. Price to performance is great.

What I dislike about the Vapor 15X is the numpad and the off centred mouse pad 😅

    • +1

      Glad you're loving it!
For the last 3 days I've been going between the pro and the 15X. Love the black aesthetic on the pro, and the 94wh battery!
Ended up going with 15X solely on the Intel 10th gen and the super Max-P.

      • The 10th gen sure will last longer (future proof) :D
I got mine early January, didnt know they will come up with the new 15X version

    • What is the battery like? I heard it's not great with the later models

  • Recently got a 15x, battery is quite poor (might be faulty?), however really great design just wish it was black and not grey

    • Haha don't say that, I wanted black! How long are you getting on the battery with the 15x?

      • Only getting bout 1hour-1.5hours whereas reviews been mentioning 3-5 hours. This is with battery saver/30% brightness and just general browsing.

        • Yeah the reviews I watched were claiming around 4-5 hours on 50% brightness. Hopefully just a faulty battery. Half tempted to ring and exchange for the pro, especially if that's the battery life

          • @bustedcustard: I got a problem as well with the battery when I purchased them, then ring them and brought it back to their store and pick it up few days later. I would say their service is awesome!

            • @froddoog: How long is the battery lasting after returning it? Thinking about returning but i would have to ship it as im in NSW.

              • @Kaotic: The only problem I had was, it couldn't charge to 100% and it only last around 4 hours (battery saving mode on, 45% screen brightness) programs opened were Microsoft word, excel and note and Mozilla. (with breaks in between)
After they changed the battery, it could last me from 8am till 4pm (with breaks in between).

              • @Kaotic: Read mixed reviews on the 15X battery life. Found this thread, has some good info.

Edit: @froddoog didn't see your comment, glad the battery life improved!

        • 1.5 hours battery? Even for a gaming laptop thats garbage lol

I thought it was marketed as having decent battery

          • @Freestyle: decent battery for the Vapor 15 as it has 94wh battery…

the 15x is slimmer and got less room for battery…

They are releasing Ryzen variants within about a month, going to hold of for those

    • Oh really? That sounds interesting. Guess it ont be something they "developed with Intel" then :p

      • I heard back from them and they've said at this stage only for their 17r lite I believe

These are just rebadged whitebook laptops. The ODM is Tongfang. I think Aftershock is just using the Tongfang QC7 chassis on this one. Similar companies using either Tongfag or Clevo in Australia are Infinity Gaming, Metabox and Allied Gaming PC. Metabox and Allied are selling the Clevo laptop chassis which accepts a desktop Ryzen CPU up to 16 cores and a 2070.

    • Problem is they are THICC AF

  • Pre-ordered for a month from these guys for a 15x then i noticed that they started stocking them (no longer showing as pre-order) but still had no ETA date when i asked about when they will start building my order, so I ended up cancelling which they gladly helped.

Price on website is for payment with Bank Transfer. Any other payment methods (obviously cash not possible since they are in VIC) will attract surcharge.

If you guys wanna ask questions from them, better send through their chat system on their website and leave your email there as if you just send an email to their inbox directly you may not get a reply at all. Phone call is not possible atm.

Vapor 15x has better specs than 15 Pro but smaller battery. There aren't any reviews of the 15x, you may find enough of the 15 Pro but the closest to 15x is the Max 15 by JarrodTech.

Overall there are a lot of good feedbacks about the thermal performance of Tong Fang chassis and I was interested in this since they have a shop in Melbourne which where i am so thinking this could be a better option than other TongFang chassis brands out there.

There aren't many 15" laptops out there with 2070 Super Max-P which is on par with 2080 Super Max-Q:
    - AW m15 R3
    - AS Vapor 15x
    - Zephyrus 15 (2020)

The rest of them are Max-Q variants.

In the end, after alk the researching above, I got myself the R3 instead. B-)
