      Good TV, hass the DLNA sharing (Allshare) and USB playback, although none of the SmartTV stuff.
      Although I paid $998 with a 'free' Blueray (sold for $150) so this is only about a $100 less in 10 months. I did get stung for overpriced wallmount though so I'll give it a +

    Why is the series 8 model so much more expensive? The specs look exactly the same when using the compare funtion on Samsung's website.

        On samsung site, it doesnt say the glasses included by default

        So you packing one to be imcluded?

        Bigbrownbox have the same model for the same price, except free shipping to syd

        But theirs dont include glasses, so if you can ship free to syd + glasses than its a deal :)

        Also please clarify refresh rate

    What would be excellent is for those of us that got stuffed around with Myer & the other deals, would be the TV without all the extras, but free postage. You'd sell a fair few, I reckon!

        Yeah mattwalker, I see where you're coming from - I'm in Orange, NSW, and went into my local Myer store and they said that they couldn't match the prices of the Sydney stores (even though the same chain!) and refused to budge at all. Was ready to buy it there and then, but no :( Joys of not living in a major metropolitan area :(

        I'll still give you a positive for the deal anyway :)

      (ignoring the fact they don't do LED in 50", or 51")
      50" LED for $800… it'd be a good price for a 42"!

        wouldnt surprise me at all to see LED TV 50" for less than $800 in christmas sales.

        everyone has tv now, they need to come down to encourage more purchases. I want a 50" for my room.

    Hmmm maybe time to upgrade the 40' Sony LCD.
    Both deals look good, it depends on your situation. Matt has a good reputation on all forums I have seen him come up.

    Bought this 2 weeks ago and am very happy with it. Only concern is the screen is very reflective and hot. otherwise it gives a very nice FHD image. Connectivity is also good, although not smart, I hooked it up to my wifi router and with imedia share on my android phone, am able to stream youtube on the TV. no bad for $799!

    Just to clarify, what is the refresh rate? I know it says 600Hz sub field, but does that really mean 60Hz for normal ness?
    I'm looking to hook this up to a gaming pc in the lounge room, so obviously refresh rate, response time and blur are major factors to consider.

    This is a fantastic price. Great TV (i have), annoying EPG though. I press the "guide" button, and it's slow and freezes. There's a preview of the current channel you're on, but it keeps cutting out when you move through the guide. No idea why, doesn't make sense to me.
    Mayve there's a firmware update to fix it.

    Good playback of video files off network computer.
