      Great phone great deal

I gave one to my technology inept mother, and she loves it!

If people want to know about her monthly bridge classes, then good on them hahahahaha

      • hahahahaha

I have this phone from a previous toby deal. The screen and battery size have been a revelation coming from the old iPhone se.

Only regret is that the note 9 pro model wasn't available when I purchased it cheaply otherwise I would have got that instead.

The cia hiding under your bed is a bigger worry.

Why is no one talking about the Kremlin in the cupboard?

        To the OP……good find.

      • Um. I don’t get this. Is your mother working for the cia or something ?

      • Why is it just under his/her bed??

Another new variant of Redmi Note 9 family! Xiaomi you never cease to confuse us!

    • +7

Unfortunately Note 9S doesn't have NFC. Xiaomi really screwed up with names this year.
Note 9 Pro (India/China) [No NFC] is Note 9S (Global/Europe) [No NFC].
Note 9 Pro Max (India/China) [NFC] is Note 9 Pro (Global/Europe) [NFC].
Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global/Europe) has NFC.

I dont know if we would follow this either.

      • Dont forget the two versions of the global base model RN9, one with nfc and one without.
They both have the same name but different model numbers just to make it more confusing.

  • NFC for $20 or save $20 with no NFC hmmmmmmmm

Depends if you use NFC or not.

Get 1 with NFC. It will come in really handy 1 day if you are not using it already.

  • Would be interested to hear feedback from members that have actually used a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on Xiaomi phones?

    • +1

Was wondering the same. The back mounted seems so convenient! The side mounted would take us back to those days if pressing the power button to unlock - haven't done that in like 4 years now.

    • +4

I've had the Redmi Note 9 Pro for a couple weeks and I've had no issues having the sensor on the side.
It's pretty quick and you don't have to press the button.

      • Any issues unlocking when in a car phone holder?

        • +1

Can only speak for my car phone holder and it's fine, but would definitely depend on your holder.
You could setup double tap screen to wake and face unlock if there was an issue accessing the button.

However, I'm talking Note 9 Pro - not sure if the 9S has the same features.

        • I ordered a Redmi Note 9 Pro and am wondering the same. Also, I don't want those HD cameras at intersections in Sydney identifying me holding a mobile phone while driving, but actually just unlocking with its fingerprint sensor. It looks setup face ID unlocking should be the first thing once getting it.

    • If you use a full cover case then the sensor on the back is covered when it is open.
Problem fixed having it on the side.

From past experience, make sure you message Toby Deals first to check stock to avoid disappointment in shipping delays.

  • Camera is better on the S model compared to the Pro imo,I'm gonna cancel my pro order and try and order this
