lol what's the point if lounges are closed and only water on flights

    • +8

      Sydney to Melbourne

      Economy - 7,800 + $34.39
      Business (Sale) - 10,800 + $34.39
      Business (Normally) - 15,500 + $34.39

For 3,000 pts an extra bag, a bit more legroom and maybe a bit more space from other passengers?

      • and I guess its a chance to use points before they get watered down further - seems inevitable to me.

Not really, it's more likely a chance for VA to basically retire their debt (which is what FF points are).

It's likely that they're not filling all J seats on these flights anyway, so in a sense, for them, it's a very cheap way of retiring these FF points which otherwise would have been used on much more expensive flights later on.

agreed "We're currently offering complimentary water and a snack, irrespective of cabin. Complimentary meals and the purchase of additional food and drinks will not be available on board." it is not worth the points etc unless you are going from the east to west coasts (good luck with that) where the better seats would be worth it for a longer haul imo

Even east to west coast, with the A330s now no longer listed as flying; it's a tough sell.

Virgin catering, east-to-west A330s, lounges and good service used to make Virgin business worth it. Now three of those are gone. :-(

I'm of the opinion all 4 have gone.

    Virgin is still around?

    • You can never be a virgin again. Unless…

You embark from the rear of the plane?

        • I’d rather board, but each to their own.

      • you skid off the runway and plow into the brown patch at the end?

Best business class seat for us Victorian's is our couch!! sigh

  • Lol glad I redeemed most of my points

J seats in the VA 73H aren't that great. you're only getting more legroom and a bit more distance from your neighbour. Recline on those seats are pretty terrible.

    • At least 1.5m from your neighbour I would hope.

  • I personally wouldn't bother with Business Class on a domestic flight (points and/or cash payment).
    Only worth it for long-haul.

Plus, the Lounges are closed so it's pretty uneventful.

Bring on the vaccine and 2021 !

WOW! Great deal for Victorians.. not… sigh!

I would sell my soul for a jar of lube, a sock, and a seat at the back of that class🥊
