  • Good price, i paid $201 on futu just last week

  • Good price, bought off amazon for $198 couple days ago

    • I got one late last year from Amazon for $16x… I still feel it is not good enough even I've pulled the trigger :(

  • Pic is of the old model? But guessing it’s the new one that’s smaller?

    • Checking with CA now, will update when I get an answer.

    • The model number is specifically listed as the newer smaller model. I’d say slim chance it’s the old one and you’d have every right to a refund and return if they tried to give you the old model

  • There's a $10 bonus cashback today too, isn't there?

edit: oh wait that's only if you use the party21 code

  • PIP10 code is for eBay Plus only from what I can tell. Should title state that?

      Thanks, just updated.

      • All good. Thanks for post! Signed up for ebay plus trial just to get this deal.

  • Thanks OP, another piece for my new build ticked off!

  • Good timing for anyone looking to get a new RTX 3080 or 3090 but don't have a decent PSU. This one is a quiet tank and has 4x PCIe 8 pin connectors! A lot of these new GPUs require 3 of those and a lot of smaller PSU's only have 1 or 2.

    • A lot of these new GPUs require 3 of those and a lot of smaller PSU's only have 1 or 2.

      Most 3080 / 3090 cards only need 2.

Asus STRIX, Gigabyte AORUS, MSI Gaming X are examples of 3x8 but those are their top end cards.

More common cards (e.g. Asus TUF, Gigabyte GAMING and EAGLE, MSI Ventus from same vendors) are still using 2x8.

      • I said "a lot of these new GPUs," not most. There are many models that require 3x8 pin.

But to elaborate; if you want a top tier card with the best cooler (that isn't a FE) then you will probably get one with 3x8 pin. Even if you don't need 3x8 pin then you really should still have a quality PSU with some overhead. These cards have a rated TDP of 320 and 350W which is higher than most any single GPU card in the history of consumer graphics cards.

Therefore regardless of needing 2x or 3x8 pin this PSU is still a good choice in all cases of buying any 3080/3090 card if you are needing a PSU upgrade ie have a lower quality, lower wattage and/or older PSU.

        Better? :)

        • I'm just thinking there's a fairly narrow overlap between:

          1) People who are going to throw down $1,000+ on a new GPU and only be willing to buy a card design that needs 3x8
          2) People who don't already have a PSU that will support the above

Your initial statement, while not maliciously-intentioned, can have the unfortunate effect of making people overspend due to thinking they need a better PSU than they have if they want the option to upgrade to a 3080 in the future. I'm not trying to be pedantic, but don't want anyone creating ewaste and losing money by buying a new PSU because they read your comment without understanding the full situation.

  • Thanks, bought one.
I had a failed Evga psu 650w gold bought in 2017 but unfortunately lost the receipt. I contacted evga which accepted my RMA, but has to be returned directly to Taiwan. Cost to ship it alone was going to be $90 by the cheapest method I could find (Australia post international).

    • Speak of cost I checked the prices for some of the top rated PSUs (Seasonic Focus Gold, Corsair RMx, Super Flower Leadex Gold…) on Taiwanese website and the prices are roughly 2/3 or lower compared to here.

On top of the manufacturer warranty, some even offer home pick up when your PSU is defective within the first year.

  • thanks picked one up last night

  • So this stuff is foreign to me, so seeking some opinion before I bite the bullet and purchase a PSU.
I have one of the budget TechFast gaming builds from ~ a year ago. I know in the techfast posts people always call out the PSU as needing upgrading to avoid the psu affecting componenets as a general belief of "dont stinge on the psu".
How accurate is this? Given it is now a year since purchase is it worth upgrading the PSU to something like this post?

    • Which deal did you buy from them? Or can you list the spec and tell us the brand and model of the PSU?

I'd say they would have at least put an average questions PSU, maybe not a well known brand/model but an okay one at minimal.

      • Yeah, the psu is AYWUN A1-6000 (600W)

        Full specs are
        Biostar b450mh
        Ryzen 5 3600
Team group t force ram 16gb 3200 speed
        Asus rx570
Then an m.2 ssd and a sata 2.5 ssd

        • Other than average price $55 and 2 yr warranty there's not much information about the PSU.

If you are not going to upgrade your video card or other stuff, a 550 - 600w power supply is well enough for this system. Try replacing it with one that's from a well known brand/manufacturer, usually they provid minimum 5-year warranty, and just pick one that is 80+ Bronze, non-moduler if you don't want to spend too much.

          • @davidl820: Cool cool, will starting looking into more reputable branded ones. Thanks for the assistance with that.

Great PSU and good price. One of the better choices out there if you need a lot of SATA power connectors. I have mine powering 12x 3.5" HDDs.
