Gigabyte RTX 3080 Gaming PCs [B550/750W Gold]: $1995 [R5-3600] / $2195 [R7-3700X] + Delivery @ TechFast

3731
GIGA-3080-LAUNCH

Party like it's 1995! Kicking off RTX 3080 season with high spec systems through our partnership with Gigabyte, starting at $1998 with the Ryzen 5 3600.

Ryzen 5 3600 or Ryzen 7 3700X | Gigabyte RTX 3080 10GB Gaming PCs: $1998 and $2188 after GIGA-3080-LAUNCH

Here's how allocation works:

  • Limited quantity of Gigabyte Eagle OC cards arriving in September (scheduled for next week)
  • Limited quantity of Gigabyte Gaming OC cards arriving in September (scheduled for next week)
  • More stock is arriving in October for both. Once the "September" cards in the Graphics Card section are marked as sold out on the website, you can purchase the October variants, and your system will ship as soon as they come in.

It is strictly first come, best dressed, no holdsies.

Godspeed.

      • So October shipment looks very unlikely. May as well cancel and wait for Black Friday.

        • Zen 3 will be unveiled tomorrow and rumors that it will be on sale at the end of October. anyone waiting?

          • @ozvictor: I'm pretty happy with my buy as long as it ships by around end of Oct. It will still do everything I need it to.

          • @ozvictor: I’m beginning to consider it.

But then again I’ll probably put the 3700x in my unraid server which currently has a 4 core CpU so that’s a fair upgrade.

Then I’m free to upgrade to zen 3 the b550 board will do fine

          • @ozvictor: I’m not purposely being impatient or difficult lol I bought this when my MacBook Pro was dying (my only other computer). It’s now completely dead and I’m doing my UNI work completely using an iPhone 😂

          • @ozvictor: Not really. I'll just upgrade the CPU further down the line if I feel the need. Since this is mainly for 4K gaming the processor has little effect on FPS at that resolution.

Still the reported benchmarks of the Zen 3 are pretty good.

I emailed them last week regarding some other matters and they said they expected my October build to be finished by Monday 12 Oct.

      • Which card did you order?

        • +1

Ordered the Gigabyte Eagle OC 3080 (October shipment) within 24 hours of the deal going live.

      • Are you a September or October order mate

        • Nvm I can’t read good

  • Hopefully my October build will be around the same time.

  • Hi guys

I purchased a PC from another ozBargain deal (the infamous CGB solutions) in June. I only just received my refund for the 2220 dollars that I paid - more than a whole 3 months after placing my order. Now the time has come for me to finally place my order for a PC, this time hoping to actually receive something. Now I don't want to fall into another trap again. This deal from techfast looks irresistible to me but I'm still not sure if I should go for it or not. I don't want to screw up again. I've read a few of the comments on this thread from people who received their order. So far it all seems pretty good. Only downside is that if I place an order now, it'll take quite some time for it to arrive. It'll take a fair bit of convincing to my dad to make another purchase from a website that's not a Dell or a Scorptec but I can convince him. However, if something goes wrong with my order, I don't know if my dad's gonna ever trust me again for anything 😂😂.

Guys please give me some reassurance..

Also, why are some people I this thread buying the PC unassembled? Is it because it arrives quicker or does Techfast shave off some dollars from the total?

    Thanks everyone!

    • +1

I would suggest you to wait for 2 more days, the zen 3 announcement is at 3am 9th October, wait and see what AMD will bring. If you place your order now you won’t get it until November. Maybe Techfast will have a zen 3 + 3080 deal and that’s the best time to place your order, if you can wait..

      • Ahh yes thanks for the advice

U r absolutely right about that. Only thing is that ive been needing a PC since May 2020 and I just don't wanna wait any longer. If you think about it, we could be waiting forever if we just keep anticipating new hardware releases. It's true that Zen 3 announcement is just round the corner but the itll most likely be a few weeks until it becomes available to purchase. By the time Zen 3 is on the market, RDNA 2 will be announced and then I'll wait another ~2 - 3 weeks for that to hit the shelves….and so on.

Still, I truly appreciate ur response.

        • +1

I'm in a similar boat to you in a way. My GPU is (profanity) and I can't game or the fans freak out. If you've waited this long may as well wait another month or so for Black Friday, Techfast will probably have some even better deals than this. Since the only cards remaining for this deal are November cards anyway, you may as well wait. That's what I'm gonna do anyways

          • @WinstonWithAY: actually….ya'll are right :)

            • @savagext: Shouldn't you be Winston with an I?

              • @Ebaygiftcards: Yeah then you have to wait another month or so haha. There is no perfect time to buy really and most people will be happy with the 3080 builds.

    • +1 on waiting for the new Zen 3 announcement. I received my system 3 days ago i. I scored the September allocation. First order with Techfast and no complaints.

I requested my system un-assembled because I was itching to build the PC myself for personal satisfaction :)

  • +1

How long is this deal for Luke?

    • Yeah I'm curious about this as well….

      • The lack of replies suggests they've gone full throttle building machines.

        • +1

Getting my Oct build started hopefully

  • +3

Just a PSA I emailed Luke last night and the Gigabyte cards arent in the country yet. They are waiting to hear from China when golden week was over (today).

    • hopefully sept cards come through soon!

      • How long after the deal was posted did you order?

        • mate i had an order for 2080 super prior to 3080 release which techfast changed for me. Which was really nice of them as i cant imagine too many businesses doing that. So i imagine itd be front of the queue

i also placed a second order for an additional 3080 unit for sept card about 2 hrs after it posted.

These are for gaming cards btw, not the eagle

      • Yeh looks like no one who ordered the gaming oc card got their September order

        • im sure there isnt any malice on their side and post or their supplier has just screwed them over. given how opinionated OZB community is i would think they'd be as cautious with eta's as possible so as to not cop any flack.

          • @p78p: Suppliers are screwing everyone over currently, but nVidia is largely to blame as well. They have been posting about how the demand is exceeding their supply, and how they arranged for significant supply to be available from the start. Looking at various stores / suppliers, this is obviously not the case. Paper launch.

Just received my pc this morning, haven’t turned it on yet because of work, seems like good protection inside the case, but a bit disappointed that there are a small scratch out of the box

Is there anyone who's had confirmation that their PC shipped still waiting for it to be delivered? Ours was sent last Tuesday 29 September and arrived in Melbourne very quickly the day after. We received the accessories box on Monday with the manuals and cables, but still waiting for the actual PC to be delivered. Lodged an enquiry with Australia Post yesterday and they said it's not usual for it to take so long to receive 2 parts of a parcel. There has been no update on tracking since last Wednesday when it arrived in Melbourne, so that's more than a week now.

I must say I'm disappointed that the accessories box (Motherboard box) isn't even packaged, a shipping label is simply stuck to it. This is leading me to fear the worst that someone put 2 and 2 together and decided to pocket the box with the PC for themselves, as both have the same tracking number on the label. Couldn't Techfast package this so people can't see the contents or include it with the PC? Every day that goes by we're fearing that it's either been stolen or that because it's sitting somewhere forgotten with the backlog of parcels in Victoria, it's been damaged.

What will happen if we don't receive it? Surely we'd be entitled to a refund?

    • In regards to the packaging for the motherboard box, I have to say that it is quite disappointing. There's no real excuse for that apart from laziness on their part. If you don't receive the PC, as per their policy, I don't think your're entitled to a refund. Their policy states that "title to the product(s) passes to you when TechFast delivers it to the carrier and risk of loss passes to you when the shipper delivers product(s) to the address you designate."

I just hope everything gets to you in the end since there's not much TechFast can do for you now.

      • But it states that 'when the shipper delivers product(s) to the address you designate.'. The PC hasn't been delivered, and the tracking shows that only 1 of 2 items has been delivered. I'd understand if it had been delivered to an incorrect address then that would apply, but at this stage, it hasn't been confirmed as delivered, so the risk of loss hasn't been assigned yet.

There was no option when purchasing to add insurance ourselves, so surely Techfast must organise insurance to cover losses themselves when sending $1000+ PCs/computer parts through Australia Post?

I really wish there had been an option to pay more for a courier. The build itself may be good value, but the stress and worry it's caused having this delivered through Australia Post is horrible.

      • +1

Their policy states that "title to the product(s) passes to you when TechFast delivers it to the carrier and risk of loss passes to you when the shipper delivers product(s) to the address you designate."

Ex-(profanity)-scuse-me? No. I am (hypothetical) customer of TechFast. TechFast is the customer of the courier. If my package is lost through a fault of the courier, that is up to TechFast to solve.

Just when I thought these (profanity) clowns couldn't get any more shit.

        • +1

The way that I read that policy is in two separate parts, firstly:
"title to the product(s) passes to you when TechFast delivers it to the carrier" - I don't see this as very contentious…

          …and secondly:
"risk of loss passes to you when the shipper delivers product(s) to the address you designate" - which I think is fair enough if they have delivered to the address you specified? I think they say this to cover situations where people specify their work address for delivery like I do, and reception signs for the package leaving it behind the desk until I get off my lazy behind to get it (which is usually at the end of the day).

Anyone could snatch it in the meantime; sure there are security cameras but the onus shouldn't be on techfast to follow that up, should it?

    • +2

I'm not a 100% certain on this, but I think AusPost split the packages depending on weight/size due to OHS.

I'm in Melbourne also - mine was dispatched 29/09, I received the Motherboard Box on the 01/10 and the PC Box on the 02/10. Although got the notification about the 2nd consignment the PC Box was out for delivery on the 02/10 after I took delivery. The courier just showed up, and then 30 mins later I received - Out for delivery, then delivered.

But I am still waiting on other packages that have been processed at a Auspost Facilities for 2 weeks now. If a refund is needed, you would need to refer it to Techfast as they sent it they are entitled to seek compensation from Auspost, and then refund you accordingly. I have had other packages/parcel 'refunded' this way, Optus just needed to confirm or update the tracking as lost. Within 1 minute of the tracking status update, Optus confirmed the refund.

Hopefully it works out for you, but Auspost is struggling to keep up at the moment.

      • Thank you so much for sharing your experience, glad to see a fellow Victorian managed to get the PC without issue. Also concerning though because it looks like both our PCs were dispatched the same day. May I ask which part of Melbourne you're in? Ours should be going to the Pakenham sorting facility before it's delivered to us, hoping maybe they're more snowed under.

What time did you get the notification about the second consignment out for delivery and what time did you get it delivered? I'm really just trying to gather any hope I can that it might still arrive today or worst case tomorrow.

        • +2

          I live in Truganina.

the second consignment (PC Box) was delivered around 1ish - but the tracker didn't update with out for delivery until 1.30pm and then was marked delivered at 1.35pm - could've just been an IT issue.

I've had consignments delivered weeks apart - frustratingly.

But I agree with previous posts Techfast should provide the option for couriers for those who are willing to pay for it.

          • @Ollies: That is frustrating that some consignments have been delivered weeks apart. Is this isolated to this year with Covid or has it happened previously?

Yeah definitely, I don't see why you'd limit yourself to Australia Post given their track record isn't good even without a global pandemic…

Not arriving today I'd say as just had a different parcel delivered.

            • +2

@kittymtd: Update: Ended up being delivered at 4:30pm today, doesn't seem like any issues so far. That will be the last time I rely on Australia Post for such a pricey item.

    • Hey, so I'm apart of the October shipment and I received my shipping notice/tracking number on Friday afternoon. Did you end up having a look at the tracking early on, because mine just says "Pending" since friday afternoon. Kind of wondering if Aus Post has screwed up a little or it just hasn't been picked up by Aus Post

  • Hey Luke can you give us an idea of what the Black Friday deals would be like? I'm trying to decide between buying this deal now, waiting for the zen3 deals and waiting for black Friday deals but idk if it's gonna be worth it.

Also, when will the Zen3 deals be posted? After the announcement tonight or on the day that the CPUs become available for purchase? I'm curious to know the pricing for the Techfast systems featuring Zen3. Speaking of which, will this system become cheaper after the Zen3 announcement as the 3600/3700x are about to be succeeded by another cpu of hopefully the same launch price?

    • I bought this package in the deal with numerous upgrades including a R9-3900x and since the delay of the GPU And my September shipment not being sent yet I feel I can wait longer probably to change this CPU to a next generation. That’s my thoughts and hopefully Techfast can cater to that.

      • Do you know how much the R9 upgrade was? I’m considering this because the zen 2 will probably end up in my unraid server and 12 cores is better than 8 lol. A zen 3 will probably end up in this rig

  • +3

Just to share a few more pics with my 3700x build. I did upgrade the ram to 32gb and the PSU to 850w. My monitor arrives tomorrow so I haven’t test the system yet.

    • Looks super clean

    • Are you able to confirm if a PCI-E wifi card can still fit in there?

      • Can confirm, I've fitted the ASUS AC88 in mine (although it's tight!)

    • Thats pretty good. The only thing I'm not a fan of is the front of the MSI Mag case.

  • +2

Zen 3 has announced! Available 5th November 2020.

    Price:

    Ryzen 5 5600x $299 USD

    Ryzen 7 5800x $449 USD

    Ryzen 9 5900x $549 USD

    Ryzen 9 5950x $799 USD

    • The claimed performance of the new Zen 3 lineup look so good! But honestly, my 5 3600 just does everything fine, I rarely see it hit 100% usage.

      • The real benchmark for the majority of people will be performance vs price on 5600x vs 3600 or even 3700x, especially when/if zen 2 prices drop after zen 3 release.

Will it really be worth paying $299USD (circa $500 aud when tax is factored in??) if you get most of that performance for half or less with 3600?

        • +1

Yeah, I don't think that zen 2 prices will drop that much due to zen 3 pricing. So it will be interesting to see how it sorts itself out.

I'm not an AMD fanboy, but its just so nice to be able to purchase such good CPU's now. 2 years ago I paid $280AUD for an i5-6500. Right now you can just buy a 5 3600 for $280 pretty much. Insane!

          • @okei pokie: true, healthy competition is always good for consumers!

  • Ordered on sep19. Anyone else got their order around this time yet?

    • Same, but nothing yet. I'm in the MSI October tranche. What did you get?

      • I got the gigabyte OC October batch

Info from Luke in the intel/3080 deal

Sharing here for people if they missed it and waiting on their orders.

Existing RTX 3080/3070 Order General Information
The handful of remaining September Gigabyte orders will be getting nice little notifications in their inboxes later today 💪
From all information from manufacturers and suppliers, we're looking great for October arrivals for Gigabyte and MSI cards within the month as scheduled. As per September cards, October systems will be built as soon as possible after they arrive, so I can't give any firm dispatch dates just yet, although I know you want me to.

    • Yep just saw that, hoping for mid-late October arrival of cards (waiting for the Eagle). Then late October/Early November delivery would seem most possible.

    • Yep I just got the following confirmation from a techfast sales rep:

"The October cards are currently expected to arrive to our warehouse within the next 2 weeks. Based on that information their respective systems should be arriving by the end of October, or into early November if we encounter some unforeseen delays."

      Fingers crossed guys 🤞

  • +4

So I was one of the ones who bought a Gaming OC card, and was wondering why it was taking so long even though it was in the September allocation, however just received an update from Luke, stating they are aware of the OC gaming shortages from golden week in China and as a result got the following email:

"I hope you're well. A final update for you - earlier this week some
Gigabyte Gaming OC cards came in as expected, but not our full
allocation. Gigabyte didn't get their full Australian supplier shipments
processed in late September due to the logistics backlog before Chinese
Golden Week at the start of October, so those cards are likely to arrive
in around a week, week and a half. We acted quickly to source
alternative, upgraded cards at no charge to the remaining customers, of
which you are one. As a result, your GPU has been upgraded."

Keeping the card they are upgrading to hidden, however the card they are upgrading to definitely makes up for the lost time and really shows they actually give a shit about the people who bought one on these systems.

Also, just adding to it, I did jump on the deal 30 mins after it was posted so milage may vary and this may not apply to everyone who bought an OC gaming.

    • TechFast quickly building a solid rep on multiple channels. Nice work Luke and team.

    • Nice one. Did your order ship today ?

      • "Assuming you're OK with this significant upgrade, your system will be
stress testing over the weekend to ship early next week."

    • I got this email too, jumped on it too

    • Upgraded to what?

      • Random question: Shouldn't you be Winston with an I?

        • Probably not. There's a chain of blind stores in the sydney area called "Wynstan" and their slogan (or one of them) is "Wynstan with a y"

          • @Flamexio: Thats my point. It should either by Wynstan with a Y, or Winstan with an I
            lol
            anyway

  • SO I'm in the November build, Gigabyte Gaming RTX 3080 OC, you guys reckon it will come by November ending??

    • +3

No one can answer that question. I don't think even Luke can. Don't be surprised if you're waiting into December for the computer to arrive, but hope for earlier. That's all we can say.

      • Ohh damm ok, yea lets hope it comes before December :))

        • If you're that anxious to get it quickly, why not just switch to MSI Ventus? They're supposed to come October.

          • -2

@fundidadoowa: But it costs 100 dollars more.

But how come the MSI one sells for 1379 and the gigabyte eagle sells for 1399?

  • ALSO IF ANYONE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE THIER BUILD, PLSSSS POST HERE <3

    • Yes plzzzz

  • Friends and I all got some 3080 systems on the way. cheers for the great deal Luke. Second time ordering from you guys and has been great. Is there a chance I am able to hold out on my order and swap out cpu and pay the difference for a 5800x.

    • We can put orders on hold, yep. Please email [email protected] with the request!

      • Thanks for quick reply, cheers

      • Hi Luke

Do you have an idea when the November drop of Gigabyte Eagle 3080 cards are to arrive.

I know it can a short while after to build and ship the PC .

        • +1

Can only say November at this stage mate.

  • +11

Just a PSA for anyone ordering this system. Mine arrived great assembled ( 3080 + R7 3700X ) in Perth and runs fine but I was having occasional UI freezes while installing games / copying large files to the included PNY CS900 SSD. Speed would be fine at the start but after 10 seconds would drop to 20MB/s and disk utilisation would hit 100%

Disabling MSI mode fixed it https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/3083595/task-manage…

After doing the above and restarting all good. Hopefully that helps someone out.

    • Hi, that's good news, thank you for the update. I am also in Perth, just wondering how long the shipping was (from send out to receipt of delivery) for you?

      • +3

Came a full 6 days (4 weekdays) early than the earliest date mentioned on the AUPOST shipping docket. Completely unannounced at 8am (didnt even know it was in the state). Was happy it came early of course but would have liked a heads up, but in post COVID era can't complain.

Edit: Whoops didn't actually answer the question. Got shipping notice on the 1st of October, arrived 8am on the 7th. Pretty good :)

        • That's good! Thank you for replying

    • Thank you so much for this info. Might need it in the future….good to hear that the PNY ssd is doing good

    • +1

Is ur PNY ssd 480gb or 1tb because I'm wondering if they use the same ssd for those that order the 1tb sata ssd upgrade

      • +1

        480gb

  • People who have received their systems, what brand was the RAM? Someone on this thread said they got Hyperx Fury but when I emailed support they said theyre currently putting in Allied and XPG in the systems. They said it hasn't got heat spreaders even. Heat spreaders apparently don't make a difference but i mean all ram sticks have heat spreaders these days.

    • I upgraded to 32gb and the ram is PNY, so does the 480 ssd

    • Yep I ordered 32gb and got PNY as well. Pretty sure it’s these in case you’re curious: https://www.amazon.com.au/PNY-2x16GB-Gaming-3200MHz-Desktop/…

    • Thanks for the info guys…..really appreciate it

    • +1

Any chance of a reply from Techfast on this on what will be used for 16gb ram (October and November shipments specifically)

I just talked my mate into ordering a November system and one of his concerns was the unbranded(cheap) parts but I assured him I received Kingston hyperx and it wouldn't be. He may cancel if it's allied or xpg or whatever and build his own branded system.

Also got two others that may place an order as well and it's the branded parts that helps me recommend to them and give Techfast repeat service via word of mouth.

      • +1

Also interested in this as well have an October system, hoping for the HyperX as I have used that in a few systems before and never had any issues. Have heard the 1TB NVMe is the Kingston A2000 (not sure if that's useful)

        • +2

Where did u learn that the 1tb ssd is the a2000? I'm glad to hear that.

Thats a pretty good deal except that it costs 150 bucks to upgrade to a 1tb nvme ssd. That's how much the Kingston a2000 Tb costs anyways so u could order the base spec 480 gb PNY ssd and buy ur own 1tb Kingston a2000. Only thing is that you'll have to get it installed which isn't hard at all tbh. As long as the process of configuring everything in the BIOS and moving the OS to the Kingston drive goes smoothly, its a much better option.

          • +2

@savagext: I think it was asked in 3090 or the 3080/3900x deal they have running, saying the last shipment of SSD's was Kingston and specifically the a2000, I'd imagine they use the same parts for both but who knows.
