I've used the Galax 3080 because that's the lowest price available on PCPP - but our deal is still cheaper factoring in the lower EVGA price. No Giga PSU pricing either so I've used the lowest priced one.

this is a killer price, even if you are to sell at the PCPP price, I would still recommend my friend this

feel bad for the people that bought this last week

      B450M vs B550

      650W vs 750W

      240GB vs 480GB

if you take out the GPU price of $1300, they are the same price and you would get the new GPU before the new year

      • +9

Yep - I was one. Up late last night trying and failing to secure a 3080. Feeling a bit sorry for myself

        • +2

Hindsight is 20/20 right? You'll get one eventually.

    • How much extra if you add a Ryzen 9 3950X?

      • +4

Just buy this, take out the GPU and sell the system for $700, don't think you'd have too much problem at that price for this spec

        • +1

Looking at it this way, I can gift the system to a family member that's looking for a new PC and keep the GPU for my PC build.
For $700 it's a great system, well above this system offered for $699.
This new system can even run off the onboard GPU which the other one couldn't.

          • +7

@Crownie: 3600 and 3700X don't have integrated GPUs … You will still need a graphics card of some description.

    • EVGA….nice.

    • +2

Posts are killer man, keep it all up!

    • I'm trying to place an order but the site won't let me enter discount code. Can someone help me?

    • I have concern for builds containing Gigabyte P750GM 750W 80 Plus Gold fully modular power supplies. After watching Gamers Nexus video on these PSU's.

"We spent MONTHS evaluating Gigabyte's GP-P750GM & GP-P850GM power supplies to determine why so many users reported DOAs, failures, and "exploding" MOSFETs."

Also another video concerning these psu’s here.

This deal is insane, if for no other reason than it's probably the only way you'll actually get an RTX 3080 this side of 2021…

    • +9

2 days ago i was thinking "maybe i'll try get a 3080" and right now i'm trying to justify buying an entirely new system just for funsies…..

      • Me too…

    • +2

Lets see about what it it will be like for people to get a card this side of 2021. There will be all the usual retailers coming to the party including Amazon. Reality is they are just released and I can count the deals listed on one hand. Everyday you will see more and more competition.

  • Wow. Nice job Luke.

  • That's a great price considering how much the 3080s for are going alone right now

  • Lucky to those who waited and can jump on this quickly. Nice build and priced super sharp.

  • +2

Will the card come with watch dogs legion?

    • +8

      Working on it.

      • Cheers legend

        • +15

          Legion*

      • @luketechfast Now that the GPU's are here, any update on watch dogs legion?

        • +2

Nothing from NVIDIA yet, unfortunately. Still trying.

          • @luketechfast: Luke, came through this deal via your latest Intel deal.

Have you had any break throughs on this if I want to grab this system today

  • +1

    what a great price!

  • +1

Eagle Vs Gaming differences other than a 50mhz clock?

    • I see extra 1 year warranty and dual bios on gigabytes page.

      • Not worth it for me. I'm only going to keep the card until the next update so the extra warranty doesn't mean much. $100 saving it is.

        • Yeah $100 isn't justified, but also the gigabyte eagle looks so (profanity) ugly 😭

  • If the X570 motherboard upgrade is selected, what board is it likely to be?

    • +6

I've just dropped the B550 to X570 upgrade to $49. It is most likely the Biostar GTA or GT. The WiFi version will be more like an Asus Tuf Wifi or MSI Gaming Edge, around that mark.

      • I went with the WiFi version because it looked like the other ones were unlikely to have usb-C ports which I need :)

        • I didn’t upgrade my motherboard and didn’t know it doesn’t have WiFi, can I still upgrade to WiFi version ?

          • @ozvictor: That, or there's always WiFi cards if you don't care about some other motherboard features :)

            • +1

@wondertroy: what other benefits of upgrading to a x570 motherboard? sorry I am not good at PC don't know much about this, but thinking of upgrading to wifi, is the Asus a good wifi card? thanks

              • @ozvictor: If you aren't super technical, there aren't too many benefits to X570. It might be a little more upgradeable in the future, but if you just want a PC which works great for the price, you can do without the X570.

For a Wi-Fi card, the most important thing is the speed - Asus do some good Wi-Fi cards, and as long as it's at least an AC wireless adapter, you should be good!

      • +1

Hey Luke, ordered today and realised the same as the guys that there is no usb-c on the b550. My order is for October. How, or can I, change my order? TIA.

        • +1

PM him with your order ID and he will help you adjust it

  • +3

1995…spent many hours playing doom on the 486.

    • +8

      Now you can RTXIDDQD

      • +2

        and RTXIDKFA

  • +1

Remember everyone freaking out a few days ago because some $1600 placeholder prices for the RTX3080? Fantastic deal Luke

    • +7

Computer Alliance actually sold a few at or over $1600 yesterday

      • +12

Poor suckers buying at that price. Shame on greedy retailers for price gouging

        • -1

not really, there's a market for that, like the people that bought 2080 Ti on launch, money is no issue and instead of trying to burn their finger refreshing at PLE, you can buy like you normally would at Centrecom or Computer Alliance. If I have more money, that would be worth the premium

just like how Bill Gate doesn't pickup a $100 bill on the floor, an hour trying to get it for slightly cheaper is probably not worth it for some people

          • @ln28909: I suspect some bought out of FOMO. I still don’t agree with such practices.

            • +1

@FireRunner: Like personally I like Centrecom the best after yesterday, sure they were like 10-30% more expensive but it was available and the webpage load so smoothly. When I have more money, and there's a new hot product that I want, they would be my first stop

              • @ln28909: Never mind.

                • @Vita85: Gaming X Trio is the top tier card atm and it was $1599 I think, so only ~$150 more expensive than other stores

          • -1

@ln28909: I guess if you're using the free government money you wouldn't have an issue.

          • @ln28909: and the other option is, every retail card sells out and ebay sellers list them at $2,000.
high margin retailers have a place in the eco system.

          • @ln28909: I have the money, I could've bought from stupid Centrecom easily but I rather wait and save $400, its not like i need it immediately lol

            • @Freestyle: did you try to buy it from PLE yesterday?

              • @ln28909: yeah got the EVGA one on backorder

Could've gotten the Zotac one at launch probably, had it in the cart but I dont really know that brand so just opted for EVGA rofl

                • @Freestyle: yeah so like I said, you were probably not the target audience here, you spent probably about an hour yesterday and are still uncertain when you would get your card in a reasonable manner, but that wouldn't be the case if you were to just buy from Centrecom

I aslo got the EVGA on backorder and just received an email from PLE saying that I was unsuccessful in acquiring a card for launch so it'll be a long waittttt so yeah that's the difference I guess

                  • @ln28909: Waiting is fine, not like my current GPU is dead or anything lol

        • MSY didn't sell any of their first allocation through their retail, they re-sold them through their 'gaming' branded eBay account for $2000+

    • +3

Some PC stores actually had the balls to charge that (e.g. Centrecom) last night https://i.redd.it/oh3fd5g8jpn51.png (this was after the 11pm release with low stock showing - not just 'placeholder prices')

Thankfully there were other options like PLE and this deal.

      • I purchased the Giga OC @ PLE last night as it showed in stock at my local.
        Paid. Invoiced. Stoked.
Arrived there this morning to be told come back on the 24th for sure. An email an hour later told me the 28th, but no guarantee! Lunchtime, PLE website reduced ship date from 24th to 23rd at their warehouse for new orders!

Bait & switch like white on rice.

What can I do? I wish I'd paid the Centercom-fool price, at least then I'm choosing to be a fool, not just being treated like one.
What's another $150 on the already $350 over the inferred $1139 launch price anyway?
Who knows when I'll actually get the card I paid for, not pre-ordered?
Fcuk PLE, they're no option, they're dodgey.

        • +1

Centre com was the same mate, I paid 1600 for a GAMING X TRIO, which was paid and said expected delivery September, then today I ask them when it should be come and they manually cancelled the order.

          • @arbie911: Man, that's exactly why I'm treating PLE as lightly as possible until i get the card. I'm sorry to hear that btw man, but understand, we're at the mercy of retailer's, regardless of price.
Might just grab a 2080ti for $1000 & be done with it.

            • +2

@Unsafe: I've seen new 2080 ti's for 950 in the Central Coast I'm sure you could get a used one for 850. At that point it's almost half the cost of the top of the line 3080's at only 20-25% slower. 🤔

              • @arbie911: Be silly not too at that price.
The 3080's blew out of bargain territory, straight into standard Nvidia rip-off town as soon as they surpassed the alluded to & BS $1139 FE price.
Thanks for tip, I'm all over that.
I just may have a Giga OC 3080 for sale, maybe, in a week, or 2, or who knows when PLE will deliver lol, not lol.

  • +1

nice one. Great to see retailer like you stick to the msrp and not taking advantage on the hyped market. respect!

  • Are you going to have a 3090 + 4950 Ryzen combo? Cos I'm down for dat

    • If that's under $5000 I'd be surprised.

      • +2

I've got 6k ready to drop

        • Sounds like you should just private message luke and get a deal that way.

          • +3

@gunnerz: sounds like he is full of RGB air

            • @klownvandamn: Truth be told I'm eyeing off PCCG / Aftershock PC.

PCCG I've gotten stuff from oodles of times no issues, and Aftershock have some tasty looking builds as well.

Just curious what Luke / Techfast will be offering for the price / cost etc.

After the space heater which was the 10705h in my M17 R3, I'm VERY reluctant to go back to Intel for my new Desktop build. Kind of hoping AMD can bring it home with their new 4950x (or 5950x depending on what name they go for).

I would totally drop 2k on a sealed water cooling look at Aftershock PC, if they didn't need yearly maintenance… Ain't no one got time for that.

      • I'd get it for 4k.

    • +1

Email [email protected] if you'd like to discuss. We can do it at some stage. Will take me a while to get back to you.

  • +5

Keep in mind Ryzen 4000 is just around the corner, probably best to wait still. Black Friday and Christmas season sales will net you savings on components, if you wait just a few more months. This hot hype and demand for 3080s will also probably fizzle out in November/December, you'll also want to wait until 3070 benchmarks (that might be even more in demand than 3080) and AMD 6000 series release, which gives some more options and will hopefully kill some demand on the Nvidia side/give better price-to-performance ratio albeit for slightly worse performance.

    • +1

CPU generational leaps arent that massive mate

      • For gaming it will be.

The 4000 series are rumored to have 8 cores on 1 CCX (vs 4 cores on 1 CCX in zen 1 &2 )

This will do away with the latency issues which keep AMD underperforming in games vs intel. When you add generational performance improvements, we should see a 15% jump in performance at least (and an even bigger jump in price)

        • +1

I think they will be skipping 4000 to 5000. 4000 is already in use

          • +1

            @Dezeption: No that is intentional.
OEMs want to be able to sell the iGPU chips well into 2021, so AMD calls them 4000 series to line up with the desktop numbering for 2021.

    • +3

Might as well wait for DDR5 😅

  • +2

    Wow. Great price!

For those that aren't sure. The card alone is worth $1200.

This is a FANTASTIC deal for an entire system.

    • +1

It's worth $1200 but retailers are selling it for more like $1300 plus.

      • +1

$90000 on ebay auction right now lol.

        • WTF!

        • +1

          +$15 postage lol

          • @Freestyle:

        • Wow, this system is a real bargain then.

        • -4

Some moron made bots to bid up the price. He was salty he couldn't secure a card at launch so decided to go after anyone trying to resell their cards on eBay.
Majorly petty of him, hopefully the sellers can restrict bidders with 0 feedback from bidding somehow.

          • +3

@Agret: even more morons made bots to snipe cards when they went on sale and relist them on ebay at exorbitant markup.. lets hope more fake bids teach the scum scalpers a lesson.

  • should I get the R5 or the R7? sorry i never purchase a destrop computer before, which one offer better value? thanks ,

I recently bought the xiaomi 34 inch monitor so i want a destrop

    • +1

what will you be doing on the rig? any editing or productivity work (By the way the 3080 is blowing all 2000 series cards away in productivity and especially 3d work)? … i personally would recommend the 3700X with the new CPU's about a month away but it is $200 more and for gaming at this stage it wont make a difference, in the future if games utilise more core's then 3700X will probably age better…

i would say in the next year or so 8/16 will be the norm for a mid range :) but yeh if you don't have that $200 and are ok with upgrading the cpu down the line save your money and n a year or 2 if you feel you have to upgrade the cpu to the next gen that is coming out in a month or so.

      Hope that helps

      • Thanks, I just bought the 3700x, cuz I never upgrade any part of computer, and planning to use my computer for next 3-5 years so I spends a bit more hope it’s a good choice thanks for your advice

  • Sent you an email Luke, hoping if my order from https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/565740 hasnt started yet to pay the difference for this system

    • +2

Checking now. If it hasn't shipped it will be fine.

      • Another in that boat. No shipping notfication. Also emailed

      • Save me a September one Luke!

  • +3

Holy cow. Everyone who bought a PC within the last months will now feel bad about it.
