Update: Some new titles added - Hogwarts Legacy, Lego Star Wars, MXGP 2020, and Riders Republic

    These prices are ridiculous, especially when there's no appreciable leap in asset quality in these games… It's all just upscaling, framerates and HDR so far.

    Amazon has put Spider Man up to $94. I cancelled my $79 pre-order though, not paying that much for an expansion.

          I'm keeping a level of optimism that these prices will drop by release time. But also, I do have a $79 pre-order. I just bite the bullet on Amazon with no upfront payment, then I just cancel if I change my mind.

    Prices are ridiculous yes, but if most people refuse to pay it the prices will come down. They are only charging that much to test the market. It's up to us to show them that we wont pay that much for games.

      Exactly. Publishers are making an absolute killing on their initial price and micro-transactions, all the while their workers struggle to put food on the table and have awful working conditions of crunch and poor pay. I'm not going to pay them even more so they can rort us more.

      Ubisoft aren't listing any date to end the program, I'd expect it to run through until early next year at the least.

      Cheapest option is to buy the PS4 version. Only negative is you have to download the entire PS5 version compared to the disc version having the game on disc to install.

        Do you know if the upgrade downloaded game needs the disc to play? And whether the upgrade is instantly available? There's been so little info on it

          You will need the PS4 disc in the drive to play the PS5 digital copy, basically a licence check every time you start the digital game.

          Most digital upgrades are at launch, Watch Dogs got pushed back 2 weeks for next gen sadly.

    Prices are crap but thats pretty normal with new console launches and I want to have new PS5 games to play on my PS5.
    Want spider man but might grab that when I pcik up the console.

    FYI, these are not final prices. For context, current $60 usd games are $69 from amazon. Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a $50 USD game and was recently priced at $79 (It's now $94).

    I'm getting Spiderman Miles Morales $79 Amazon (at the time, its jumped up now) and AC Valhalla $79.

    I want Demon's Souls but I'll wait for the price to drop or wait to find it second hand after release on Gumtree or FB Market.

    Never in my lengthy gaming history have I been so keen to wait. Wait until next year to buy a console, wait until next year to buy games at bargain prices because “I wanna be first entry tax” has become ludicrous.
    My tower of shame backlog is finally going to get a dent, and I’ll pick games up when they are $30-$40, and a) I know they’re worth it and b) game of the year packs are out with all the trimmings thrown in

    It’s important for everyone to remember, when the PS4 and XBONE came out, games were on preorder for $109.95 (maybe even $119.95, I can’t remember). They normalised before launch. These prices will do so as well.

    ALSO, for those who preordered Miles Morales when it was at $79 but want the Ultimate Edition, Insomniac have announced on Twitter that there will be an upgrade path, so don’t be hasty cancelling for the $45 more expensive Ultimate Edition.
