    yeah!! 3000 series etc

  • How is this deal compare to the MSI gaming x 2070 super trio one?

    • This is cheaper and comes with a SSD

    • that's out of stock anyway

      • May be there will be similar deal in next week.

        • Quite possible. I'm watching PLE to run a deal next on their MSI GX trio 2070s as they cleared the 2080s already. It's the quietest card in market at 28dBa on full load where some cards can hit that at idle. It is huge though so won't fit many cases

          • +1

@TheLurker: Yep, I am checking OZbargain everyday for good deals either for MSI 2070S or ASUS STRIX 2070S. SHOPPING EXPRESS also has free 500 GB SSD deal for MSI and ASUS 2070S, but I don't need a SATA SSD.

            • @VictorC1227: Same situation, though every day delay increases chances of price drops as more next-gen products build hype in market. I'll share if I find anything decent

  • +74

I'm boycotting SE at the moment for their insulting 3080 pricing $600 over RRP.

My 1 man boycott is sure to show them…..

    • +34

I’ll join you, I wasn’t going to buy anything from them anyway

      • +7

Together, we will conquer the world…

        • not unless you march back and forward with signs outside the head office, with a campfire.

    • +4

i boycotted them long ago when i canceled an order before they shipped it and they refunded me the product amount only and kept the shipping charge… all they offered me was a free shipping on my next order which will never come… (best of all their free shipping was oh put in an order and just email us… yeh right like that would ever work)

      • +3

Wow. That is an insult. I would have gone to the bank and cancel transaction calling it a scam.

        • +1

stuff'm … since then i've bought over 1k worth of parts for my build from various other stores so i feel better about not giving them a cent going forward.. lol

    • +2

I was once complaining about SE(AKA KS computer & futu online)'s customer service and people here all gave me thumbs down, I'm not sure if they have spied here but brave of you and good luck

    • What about SE being partially responsible for Corona?

      • Can you elaborate on that?

  • +3

Doesnt sound very cheap at all

    • +1

AUD 159 for 32GB ram is pretty good.

  • -2

Wonder how many will buy a 2070 for $70 cheaper then a what a 3070 is supposed to be

    • +14

      The 3070 will be $850 - $1k mark so not $70 cheaper

      • +2

My guess is Gigabyte 3070 price around AUD 950.

      • -7

been told by a couple computer stores, they looking at about $700 sale price

        • +10

Link to evidence? Listed as $809 on nvidias website

        • whaaaaaat? You really expecting half of 3080???

        • +8

          Try $900 - $1000 for AIB cards

        • +5

This might be accurate a year from now. At launch expect RRP $810 and higher

          • @FireRunner: With the AUD pulling back a bit, expect it to be much higher than $810. It probably was already going to be anyway.

        • Founders Edition is launching at $810, and we've seen from all the other 30x series that 3rd party cards are substantially more expensive. Where are you getting $700 from?

        • +7

Here's some numbers for why you are dead wrong.

3080 FE Was $1139 @ MWave - The cheapest AIB card I have found of the 3080 is the Galax @ $1300. The average across EVGA, Gigabyte, ASUS etc is $1479 (Based on Scorptec Pricing). That's an increase of 29% over the Founders in price.

3090 FE Was $2429 @ MWave - The cheapest AIB card I have found of the 3090 is the Galax @ $2749. The average again (based on Scorptec Pricing) is $3036. That's an increase of 25% over the Founders in price.

3070 FE is listed at $809 on Nvidia directly. Apply, at best a generous 20% buffer on this, and you'll not see any AIB's under $950 except probably the Galax, maybe the base EVGA and Inno3d etc.

Good luck to your $700 sale price LOL

          • @Pelicannn: eVGA GeForce RTX3080 XC3 Black 10GB GDDR6X $1139 at PLE

            • @whorishmouth: Yeah I acknowedge that, I've based this off Scorptec pricing, noting that the cards at PLE are well sold out and probably have a seriously long back order.

PLE seems to be one of the only places not taking people for a ride here. But really only for eVGA. Their other cards are a similar price to elsewhere so my guess is they got a great deal with eVGA suppliers to offer those prices. They are very competitive and kudos to them!

      • -2

https://press-start.com.au/news/2020/09/02/heres-australian-… they say $809 on here, but i'm sure there will be cheaper versions

        • +1

If you can even buy one over the next 2 months. My guess is, supply to AUS will be limited :/

          • -1

@equinoxxx: Well good luck with your 2070 since you are keen to buy at the above price :)

        • clearly states they will start at $809, most will be considerably more. That page also states the 3080 will start at $1,139, most AIB 3080's are priced well above that after release so I think you're dreaming mate

        • A highly in demand product which has been selling so fast that vendors are in constant struggling to get any is going to be substantially cheaper than the RRP even when history shows that AIB are more expensive than founders editions RRP?

  • +7

Any 2070/2080 post is actually funny just reading the comments….lol

Personally waiting for RDNA2 release which can compare with 3000 series , not in a rush. If you are so desperate and can't wait for a month then enjoy best price and happy gaming :)

    • +1

I'm holding out for the 5050 or even 6060… should be a bargain

      • been holding out for an amd card to compete with nvidia for like….5 years now….even if it competes with it there is no way they will better nvidia, it will run hot, heavy and suck up tons of juice

  • Gigabyte 2070 Super and it’s great if you are gaming at 1080p. I play warzone 144hz monitor, high settings and get 160+ FPS

  • +6

Oh man that 2070 Super is really tempting. I'm a tight arse and always buy last gen when a new one releases to save $$$.

    • It's not wise to do that for the next few generations of GPUs given the performance leaps we'll be seeing in specific areas on the card.

Better to just go down a tier or two in GPUs if you have no intention of upgrading your monitor.

      • Very happy with my 27" 1080p monitor thanks.

        • Then best to be looking at 3050 and 3060 models, though some of them might be releasing in Q1 2021.

          • @jasswolf: Yeah I'm looking to upgrade now.

            • @Clear: [shrugs] then enjoy paying double until the 3060 Ti and/or 3060 are announced.

              • @jasswolf: So I'll be able to get 2070S equivalent for about $300?

                • -1

@Clear: I would describe either a 3050 Ti or a 3060 as being equivalent, yeah. Perhaps pulling past when DLSS 3.0 launches down the line.

  • Can someone explain what 5100 sp means in amd graphics card language? Is it like cuda cores..

Ahh hope not please say it's not true please ರ_ರ
    (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ

    • I think you're referring to an AMD Chipset, which has naught to do with cuda cores.

    • they are AMD's kind of Cuda cores. But you can't compare the architectures of two manufacturers. Wait till the cards come out. Heck, you can't even compare two generations of the same manufacturer.

  • +1

    Pretty decent deal

Other retailers are selling this model for this price

  • From all the comments I'm focusing on the wrong thing, but is there a way to tell if this RAM is compatible with my Dell Inspiron?

  • +1

Anyone else holding on for the 3060 announcement? 3070 is still a little overkill for my needs, and I wouldn't want to jump back to last gen if the new card is priced reasonably.

    • +1

They intentionally kept it i guess till AMD RDNA2 release IMO , maybe not correct. Nvidia wants to have a card to counter that.

      • -1

Kind of sounds silly. I would just release the whole line up and make everyone in the market for a new GPU (and even ones on the fence) just settle for an Nvidia card before AMD releases anything!

When AMD releases something, I would bring the super lineup at the same price and kill AMD again by appealing to the ones who were holding off until AMD outed their cards.

        • Apart from the bottleneck at Samsung fab making them prioritse lines, you're pretty much on the money for their strategy afaik

        • sounds very logical but clearly not their plan at this stage.
You need to also remember , they'd never play all their cards in one go! if RDNA2 hypothetically beats them (highly super unlikely) they will have no counter measures. Not saying 3060 will be the response but you need have something ready for that IMO.
market is thirsty and if RDNA2 ffffs up , everything is lined up for them ready to finish Radeon.

        • Nvidia always releases the top end first, and the rest months later.
However this year is different, the samsung fab they have making 3000 series is saving them a stack of $$, so we might actually see a 3060 before next year

  • Not bad, would wouldn't sell my MSI RTX 2060s I paid $500 for to buy this

  • Would you guys rather this or Galax RTX 2070 Super for $30 cheaper https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/565224 ?

    • +1

This one definitely it's a higher tier brand plus comes with a ssd.

      • Thanks that’s what I was thinking too.

        • +1

Plus 3 years warranty with Gigabyte compare to 2 years with Galax

          • +1

@kodoq: Haven't people complained about their GB 2070s fans? Or is that specific to windforce?

            • +1

@gmail92: I've got other gigabyte parts and had major issues this month. Their support has been terrible so that's one black mark imo.

On the fan issue have a read of the online flames in forums, even on their top aorus card. Some revving issues can be adjusted through fan profiles, but at cost of performance. Others say it's to do with their fan hub design so the fan can rattle.

I have also read some people don't have these issue, so maybe it's a quality control lottery on their cooling. When this was $585 on ebay plus with 30 day returns it was almost worth the risk. I suspect there will be more ebay plus deals on gigabyte soon.

If you're only after a card for gaming with headphones on and use RTX voice, fan noise might not be an issue.

Usual caveats of waiting a month, but the deal is good value if you need an ssd or new ram.

Don't forget to register at Nvidia to get Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Seige Gold on redemption for any 20 series purchase until end of next month (from memory)

  • +1

I am tempted but I had a 2060s go back to umart and got a refund so now I will run my 670gtx untill RDNA2 is out and stock comes back to normal.

  • Had a 1080 and then went to a 2060S and honestly wasn't worth the upgrade. Sold that and sold the 1070 for $300 so now thinking if i should get a 2070S or wait for a 3070 which i think might be a bit more than what i need.

    • +1

3070 is definitely going to be around $1k for AIB models, stock might be as shit as 3080 and 3090 regardless of what NVIDIA says also. These prices on the 2070 Super are good if you want an 8GB Card that's going to last you a long time through the future of 1080P gaming. You could wait and see what a 3060 and a potential 3050 will offer you at a similar price point but the 2070 Super is a good buy.

There were people spending double this price on a 2070 Super only 2 months ago on brand new builds.

      • Yea I'm hoping to grab a 2070S for like $500 but might be a bit soon or wishful thinking..

I'm running a 49" Sammy which is basically Dual Full HD so my fps drops about 20-30 in games compared to a normal FHD 27" hence looking for just a bit more juice.

That said, I believe the 3xxx series had some nice tech that does the upscale but not sure if I'll benefit from this as my screen is just 1080 (and no not going qhd or fhd as i use it mostly for work and not paying 2.5k for a new 49" lol

  • pcbyte has the same deal. Was hoping someone will have this deal but use Humm.. then you get $100 off :) sell the ssd for $80 then this 2070 is super cheap haha

    • I don't see any option for Humm when I go to checkout at pcbyte? I have no idea how it works though since I don't use Humm. However, it does come with free shipping so that's a plus.
