Note: I noticed the S2721DGF 2.3 rating via the dell website. A majority of low ratings are due to shipping delays. The initial deal was due to 2 coupons which weren't meant to stack, Dell chose to honour this but it caused shipping delays. Please update and/or leave accurate reviews via the Dell site pertaining to the product quality and your experience using it.

I'll do my best to answer any questions via comments. Enjoy :D

Possibly laster next month, according to op

      • +1

        Putting in a vote for a S2721QS (27 UHD)! =D

Also great work on the deal, and good luck sorting out this thread haha.

    • +1

This one would be your best option unless you want 4K for some odd reason then the S2721Q

      • the truth is i do not game on pc, my office grade laptop won't even support 75hz. missing these bargains actually made me sad. i should just walk away and wait for my s2721d to arrival next month.

        • I have that monitor and it's really nice in its own regard.

        • +1

Ahh, didn't know that you had a deal on the S2721D, I was just basing it off the current price without any discounts my bad

          • +2

@HaveANiceDay: Lol, op is too nice to organise so many deals for us here. Make me always want to BUY BUY BUY.

        • You can get the S2721D direct through Dell for $300. I got my account rep to drop it down to that, and was quoted around 9 days delivery. I needed a new one ASAP and missed the deal so decided to just go direct.

      • If you're looking to hook up to a PS5 then probably the S2721Q better for native 4K

  • +2

@LiMaaa Anything on the U3818DW by any chance? I've been waiting so patiently for this beast and ready to drop the cash for about 6 months now.

    • Sameeeeeee

      • +1

The 34" goes on sales every now and then but the 38" hits the spot with regards to real estate. And I have a new 1800mm ergo-curved desk just sitting there with a 27" Dell monitor looking a little bit insecure about it's size lol

    • +1

no U line deal as i remember OP commented on another post.

      • Dell has advised me multiple times that U and P deals are off the table, corporate line up.

  • So now I have a 3080 I'm not sure if I should get this or a 4K high refresh rate screen. 4K 144hz monitors are approx. $1500+ and this is $510~

The performance gains between a 2080Ti vs 3080 isn't as large at 1440p because the CPU bottlenecks the 3080 quite a bit more at 1440p vs 4K. What to do??

    • +2

get LG CX oled 48 inch ;)

    • I'm in the exact same boat. We have under an hour to decide….

    • It depends how much you want to spend tbh. 4k gaming is coming with new gpu, but the monitor market will take a while to reflect fair pricing. If you want latest tech be prepared to pay for it. Ultimately can get this and upgrade and resell down the line.

  • Can you get the $430 deal again for the alienware 240hz https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/392773434945

  • Two of these or a good UW. What is a comparable UW?

  • i have a lg 34uc79g (https://www.lg.com/au/it-monitors/lg-34UC79G-34-inch-curved-…) Does it worth to change to this one?

  • Ehhhhh, I got the xiaomi one and returned it, just couldn't match or beat my Acer Predator XB241YU, wonder if it would be the same case with this one. Had some greyness and shadowing when fast movement, maybe because it was a 1 to 4ms opposed to predators 1ms.

    • lmao no

      xiaomi panels are trash

      and stop buying into '1ms'

    • Once I received mine, I was blown away, no bleed, no shadowing, top tier panel and I think it will out do your predator.

      • I bought a "refurbished" one last night S2721DGF - I'm worried it will have bleed, shadowing etc. Do you know much about the refurbed ones? (Got it for $484) but with this deal on a brand new one I'm wondering if my chances are better?

        • No personal experience. If it's through Dell they do qc on refurb so it should be fine. If there are issues return and grab this on next end of Oct deal. $30 more for brand new kinda seems like a no brainier.

          • @LiMaaa: Yeah. Thats my thinking, fingers crossed. Cheers.

  • Wonder if the dell website will break.

  • how long before it gets ozbargained you think when it goes live? I'm betting 30 minutes. Although I am not getting one myself as I got it from the last deal.

    • +2

      I bet 10 minutes.

      • will still be better than rtx and consoles at least

    • +3

I want to get in on the bet, 8 mins. ;)

  • +14

I'll just put this here so I don't have to reply to everyone. I have been advised by Dell U and P deals are unlikely and rare, it's a corporate thing. S2721Q monitor is being looked into, nothing confirmed. S2721D will be back, no ETA, possibly in a week or 2. S2721DGF will be back toward end of OCT. I'll inquire about S2421HN, it's not at the forefront of the deal train but may come. Happy buying. :D

    • -7

      And the U3818DW?? :-)

      • +6

"I have been advised by Dell U and P deals are unlikely and rare"

        Read.

      • +1

It starts with a U haha, but I will inquire.

        • Thank you! I actually didn't realise what you meant by U and P deals but makes sense now. Cheers!!

    • +2

      Any chance for the S3220DGF?

    • +1

      How about S3220DGF, S model? :D

      • Bought the s3220DGF alongside this s2721dgf monitor. They go great together, but the s3220dgf has much better contrast, and looks way better for movies and stuff. Gaming wise they look pretty similar, but the s2721dgf has way less ghosting

        • That's why I'm hanging out for it! Heard great things about the S3220DGF. Heard of the ghosting issues though, do you find it inhibits your gaming? How bad is it?

          • @JSONBourne: Yeah it definitely ghosts a fair bit, and as I have it next to the s2721dgf, the differences are pretty clear. But in a sense, that's only when I'm looking for it. Haven't noticed it in a game ever if I'm honest, and the display has way more contrast so it looks better in my opinion. Once you use the S3220DGF, the 27 inch looks tiny, and way less immersive. The thing you'll most notice is the PPI difference, not the ghosting. But gaming on the 32inch is unreal, hard to go back to the 27inch now haha

            • +1

@Torch000: There is a review which suggested to put the dell dgf ms to second highest to avoid over blur. Try it.

    • +2

having a deal again on S2721Q / S2721D would be awesome!!!

    • +1

Any info regading the S2721DS variant with the better ergonomics ?

    • +1

      Love their Ultrasharp (U) Series.

Currently own the Dell U2715H with a Dell S2721D on the way (to use a secondary).

Now trying to decide if I should get this, and use the U2715H as the secondary…

      • I've got 3 of the 27" ultrasharps and they are a rock solid monitor.

      • I have the U2715h, this and the S2721D match and surpass it.

    • +1

      Promote this man!

    • +1

Would be very interested in a S2721DS deal if possible :)

      • More likely a S2721D deal, but will see what I can conjure!

  • Does freesync work like gsync with nvidia cards?

    • +4

Yes with 10, 20 and 30 series gpu with latest drivers!

      • I have the gtx 770 ( i know its old) and it has g-sync so will I be able to utilise the refresh rates? The max it will do is probably 120hz but not sure if it can because its older than the 10 series. No gaming, just media, browsing and office work. I just want to have 1440p and future proof in case I come back into gaming later on.

  • Is 144hz a noticeable improvement on 75hz? Is the higher freq only needed for gaming?

    • +1

From the YT vids I have seen it is. Linus did a thing on it.

    • +6

It's noticeable and effects the smoothness of motion, so gaming benefits greatly from this as does some media consumption.

    • +4

Honestly it's night and day. One of the best upgrades you can make.

    • +2

100%, especially if you play fps, literally the difference between life and death

for normal use though, it is still noticeable but doesn't really make a difference to my experience

  • +1

Best monitor at this price point. Can't go wrong with Dell.

    • +1

      I agree!

  • Not a gamer … running a Chrome / Visual Code Studio @165Hz wouldn't make much of a difference I guess, so have to pass. Would like to see the same deals as last week (unfortunately missed out on those ones).

    • +9

You'll get your chance workaholic ;)

      • Writing it down into my calendar … 5pm next Friday, haha :D

      • Ooh, disappointed I missed the last one. Just looking for a secondary so don’t want to pony up for this deal, as good as it is!!

        • The S2721D will be back on deal and couples nicely with this.

  • Tempted to get 2 for my home office set up…even though I'm not a gamer. Not sure if worthwhile..!?

    • Non gaming, honestly the S2721D is capable for your needs. This would be overkill but if you want premium go for it.

  • +1

Currently looking at this post on this screen. It's so nice (took around 60 days to get it, but that's ok).

Highly recommend for anyone looking at a QHD 27".

  • +5

1600 clicks before the deal is even active - this is going to be chaos

    • Lol yep goodluck to everyone

  • +1

shame its not 32 inch or id jump on it.

    • there was a 32 inch variant 144hz a while back for around 500, unlucky

      • Damn, guess i gotta wait for it. Cant game on anything less then 32 now.

    • Shame it's not 100 inch or I'd jump on it

      • +4

Then you'll have a broken screen, what a waste of a screen and $$

  • More anticipated than an eBay plus deal.
    Fingers crossed.
Cashback available as well I think.

    • Depends if the coupon is listed on CB site

      • +2

        Thanks , good point.
        Logged in through cashrewards.
No harm no foul if it isn't listed, but a nice little bonus if it pays off!

        • Someone should contact tight arse and ask. It's a custom coupon so they'll either get on board or not.

  • +1

Got mine earlier this week. Going to open it up this weekend

  • +9

Saw this post at work, noticed the starting time of deal, gave a BS reason to leave early so I can be home before 5 to buy it. What have you done to me OzBargain…

    • +3

      Username checks out ;)

    • +1

I laughed. Worth it, when u receive it you'll understand.

      • +2

Got one! Thank you for organizing this OP!

Hopefully this gets delivered soon so I can verify whether it was worth risking my job

  • Is it better to use cash rewards or shopback for this deal?

    • Very likely the coupon will not be listed, so it cashback isn't going to work

    • None of these will work unless they list the coupon.

  • So tempting…

Something to nitpick, is HDR400 terrible? Will Dell eventually make a HDR1000 variant of this and who knows what the price will be…

    • +1

It's all a price thing. You're getting a super fast IPS for $500. Seems great.

  • i hope everyone has a chance and this is not as bad as the ebay promo that item gone in seconds

  • This would be pretty good to use with new xbox and PS5 yeah? Any one know how easy it is to switch inputs on it?

    • Ps5 does not support 1440p. Only 1080 or 4k. Xbox does.

    • No need to switch inputs, ideally the monitor should be able to display 4k output from the PS5 as 1440p

  • Is the extra Hz really worth the money? Wil the 75Hz deal come back?

    • +1

      It really depends.

For non-gamers, the answer is a definite NO.

If you are a gamer then it depends what kind of games you're playing and type of system you are using. If you have a lower end system, then no because it probably can't run most games at high fps unless you run it at like 720p. If you have a high end system then sure

If you like shooters, yeah the extra frames is definitely nice, if you are more of a single player type gamer then probably not worth it but at the same time, if you can justify the extra cost then I'd get it.

      • I would totally debate the definite no to non gamers. I have an S20 Ultra phone and going from 60hz to 120hz is gamechanging even for just scrolling through Facebook. The smoothness upgrade can seem minor, but you absolutely cannot go back once you've made the leap.
