No harm in trying cashback also via your favorite partners, although the coupons aren't listed so they might not pay out.

Note: I noticed the S2721DGF 2.3 rating via the dell website. A majority of low ratings are due to shipping delays. The initial deal was due to 2 coupons which weren't meant to stack, Dell chose to honour this but it caused shipping delays. Please update and/or leave accurate reviews via the Dell site pertaining to the product quality and your experience using it.

I'll do my best to answer any questions via comments. Enjoy :D

For me personally, I don't see a major difference on my phone.Yeah, scrolling is smoother but thats about it.

Paying an extra $250-300 for extra frames so Facebook looks 'smoother' amongst other websites is something I personally couldn't justify.

However, maybe 'definite no' isn't fair and I'd say 90% leaning towards no and maybe there is 10% who could justify it.

    • not only that it has a higer refresh rate, it is significantly brighter as well at 400nits, and the 75hz is 350, but both are bright enough

    • if you are gaming (paticularly FPS) and your computer can handle over 100hz on 2K, definately.

For daily usage… it depends, 120 hz and above is definately a better experience even on Word.

  • hey OP, is Dell planning on releasing portable monitors anytime soon?

  • again! Awesome….

  • Is this a good buy for Nvidia GPU's? Or would a G-Sync monitor be the better choice?

    • +2

This one is G sync certified by NVIDIA

    • FreeSync is supported on nvidia 10, 20 and 30 series gpu via latest drivers.

  • Will this be very small to use if I'm sitting 4 metres away? Or am I better off buying a 55" TV?

    • +1

Too small - buy a TV

  • Do we just put in the TBA code twice?

    • +2

      Dude read the post again…

      • +3

Haha, thanks. I thought the code was literally TBA, instead of being a placeholder! Too excited for this deal.

        • Dont worry I kept copy pasting TBA in the box for 3 minutes trying to figure out why it did not work, then came back to OZB and saw the actual codes, I was lucky to get one monitor 5 minutes after 5 pm.

    • +2

the code will be announcement at 5pm

  • +1

Aweosome deal. Wish they had deals on the Ultrasharp series.. wink wink @ OP.

    • Me too.

Bought this to go alongside my Viewsonic VX2758. Just a heads up, there is virtually no difference in any scenario when I put them against each other, images look the same, brightness is the same, and the results from the UFO test are near identical. The only thing this dell has on the viewsonic is ergonomics, but if you use a stand, both will practically be the same thing, but for a bit less money. Both real good

    • +1

Ugh im on the fence since i have the Viewsonic already… I think i'll just wait for a 4K monitor deal :D.

      Thanks for the info/comparison!

    • +1

I just bought vx2758-2kp-mhd an hour ago and was having buyers remorse when this popped up. Glad it's similar I'll stick with it!

  • @LiMaaa Hello, Is there any deals going for monitor arms? I recently recieved my Monitor and was needing one and thought that a Dell one might be worthwhile for 2 27" monitors.

    • +5

I'm in the same boat. Dell monitor arms are way too pricey for our needs, I want to try organise a North bayou f80 deal.

  • +1

Great monitor! Good thing its on sale again, there are a lot of reselling on marketplace marking up thei price for this monitor. There's one in VIC selling it for 810AUD lol

  • Missed the previous deal https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/566872.
Could any one please recommend this monitor good for office work ??

    • using it for office work and casual gaming so far it's been good.
Its connected on my work laptop thru HDMI, then connected on my PC thru displayport

      • Thank you

    • +2

Prob overkill if your use is purely for work, the last deal for $239 is better value for work use

  • +1

    good luck
    i already have two.
    nice monitors

  • +1

Is the 5yr pro support worth it for $89??

    • even I am in the same boat, can someone please give their expert advise thank you.

      • +1

My advice is dell have really durable and quality monitors, I have one from 5 years ago and no issues. It comes with 3 year panel guarantee and exchange by default, as always if you want peace of mind, decide if the price for extra warranty is worth it for you.

  • +1

woohoo going to grab 2 if i can for a dual setup

  • A good monitor for next gen consoles? Or should go for a 4k 60hz?

    • Can next gen consoles output 2K? if its 1080P or 4K than best to get a 4K monitor

      • +1

        Xbox support 1440p

    • 1440p is not friendly with Sony, maybe you should go 4k, Microsoft is fine with 1440p

  • For those that have this monitor - what's the contrast like in games ? I already have an IPS monitor, but looking at adding a main gaming screen - was considering a VA panel screen which has a lot more contrast, but this deal is pretty cheap.

    • I find the contrast to be very good even at 80% it's really personal preference.

  • rtings recently did a review of this monitor for those interested.

    https://www.rtings.com/monitor/reviews/dell/s2721dgf

  • +2

Looks like my deal's been superseded rather quickly

    • I'm sorry <3

      • +1

Nah bro, thanks for your service. I'll actually be able to afford this

  • Can you daisy chain this monitors via displayport and use the hdmi port to connect to a MBP?

  • 乁 ˘ o ˘ ㄏ

  • +4

3700 clicks and 500 units, I better pour a drink and prepare for the funny "missed out" comments, lol

  • Does dell ship to auspost parcel collect locations?

    • +1

Dell use StarTrack for Tassie, so I assume they will deliver to Aus Post Parcel Collect since Startrack is owned by AusPost…

      Edit:
      https://auspost.com.au/delivery-options
      Fine print:
Terms and conditions apply. Collection time limits apply. Fees and charges will apply to carriers other than Australia Post and StarTrack to lodge parcels under the Parcel Locker and Parcel Collect (Post Office) services. This cost may be passed on to customers.

so yep, it seems there's no issue with StarTrack deliveries to Parcel Collect..

Have had my eyes on the XG279Q or 27GL850 for a couple of months now until the 3080 came out. Ordered the 3080 last week and was going to purchase the XG279Q in the next couple of days. I'm thinking now that I'll pick this deal up today (saving $460 on the ASUS), then selling it to upgrade when VA technology hopefully improves in the next year or so. My real wish is for something like a non-curved version of the Samsung G7.

    • Sounds like a smart move.

  • Damn…just got the S3220DGF delivered two days ago. Should have waited for this.

    • forgive me if im wrong but isnt yours better?

      • +2

It’s 32” VA while this one is 27” IPS. Depends on ones own preference so I wouldn’t say either is better. I myself prefer both 27” and IPS

    • whats wrong with the s3220DGF? its a great monitor, and I assume you got it at a great price :)

      • The S320DGFs are very good monitors and I got them for a very good price but I personally prefer IPS over VA.

  • Hey LiMaaa,
Just wondering whether you have any insight on when the delivery on the late Oct deal would be shipped as I'm buying my pc parts at the end of November (Black Friday) and want everything to come roughly at the same time. Also, any potential Black Friday deals on this monitor in the future :3

    • Initial deal on this monitor has been shipped. Later deal stock has been shipped (received mine) and will have all shipments out within a week. This deal will ship out around oct 15th, late oct shipments should be shipped out within 2 weeks after that sale. I would assume you'll have it around your parts arrival, but wait for next deal for more specific information.

      • Alright awesome thanks so much! Will be subscribed to your profile so I don't miss it :))

  • +1

i am not buying, but i am here watch how long it will take to end the 500 units

    • +2

      6 mins.

I ordered this last time and got a $60 Dell Advantage coupon. I wonder if it will work on this!

    • +1

Rather than go on wondering, why don't you try it and let us know?

    Thanks OP!!!! 🙏

  • +1

    Legend - thank you OP

  • +1

Got one! Nice! :) … this should be a good replacement for the XB271HU.

    • what happened to XB271HU.. specs are close..

      • +1

This is just an "IMO" but I have found that Dell monitors always have a sharper image. I don't like the anti-glare coating being used on the XB271HU that I have. It looks a little washed out and nowhere near as vibrant or sharp as my U4919DW.

Also this has 1ms response (vs 4ms, big deal I know), 400cd/m brightness (vs 350) and finally HDR certification (vs no HDR). :)

        • +1

I agree with your points. ocau? Your name is familiar. Surfs good this time of year ;)

          • +1

@LiMaaa: Ahaha yeah you may recognise my avatar as the ballchinian from MIB. ;)
