1. Download and install the free version of AOMEI Backupper Standard 6.0 on your computer from the AOMEI link page
2. During installation, select Try Pro for Free to install a trial version of AOMEI Backupper Professional.

    I currently have the same deal with 5.8, downloaded 3 July 2020 but this will supersede it. Before that, I had an earlier v5 release. That seems to suggest AOMEI do this regularly. So, use the trial version and keep an eye open for an update. When/if you find it fully uninstall then install the newer version.

    Glary Utilities do something similar.

    Word of caution: If you obtain Glary Utilities, don't go nuts on the cleanups and understand what it is you are cleaning. Do not clean Registry. Registry is an indexed database, deleting stuff won't make your computer faster but there is a risk, next time you try to start your computer you'll have a problem.

  Can this license be linked to an account for long term use? ie. if something happens to my current drive and I have to restore some of these backups, will I need to purchase their software to do so?

    As far as I am concerned, the more online accounts you create, the less secure you are from hackers gathering enough information to begin a profile on you for whatever purpose they want. You don't need an account if you keep an offline copy of the install file and licence key. If you want an account ask on the AOMEI website about registration. They'll love you for it.

        Not necessarily as they could suspend the key and in turn prevent future registrations. Its not very clear other than one can download now and register it.
