  • Already have 11th gen?

    • +2

yeah it was launched around same time as the 3000s GPU so no one talks about it lol

    • Yep. Looks like they're the first available.

  • +1

The 11th gen 2-in-1 Inspirons are also available

    • I'll add to the descriptions

  • Edit the New XPS 13 Laptop (Silver) looks good but not getting your pricing…$2370.71 in getting here with both codes

    • Have you selected the lead in model?

Actually i'll answer that for you. You didn't.

  • Isn’t that linking to the US website and pricing?

    • the price shown are AUD

      • When I first clicked “go to the deal” the page returned XPS 17 as well and they were all US. Shrug.

here's au link for an Inspiron with 11th gen i5

very cool device looking at the specs

with the two codes above comes down to $1300+

    • Just wish they allowed a RAM upgrade to 16GB at the price. Such a deal breaker.

      • true. well, it's an early adopter bait at the moment since these are BTO and are designed to attract funds for the product yet to be built
wait around and prices will come down gradually, cyber monday black friday etc.

the panel is really good on these, looking at the specs. full sRGB coverage 270nit IPS with ultra low power consumption (Dell quotes 2W for the whole panel which is impressive)

    • is thats why dell laptops have been discounted heavily recently because 11th Intel has been released?

Nobody: "I love the new Intel 11th Gen naming scheme. It's so easy to understand."

    • aw who cares
      nobody is who

CPU names have never been clear, and without looking at spec sheet and benchmarks it's impossible to figure out which ones are more powerful and by what margin

well apart from ambiguous i3-i5-i7-i9 that kind of gives you a hint, but then i5-H will most likely outperform i7-U, and both will suck compared to i3 if i3 is paired with a faster dual channel memory and so on

      • Have you seen the Intel product launch video. Even they couldn't pronounce the names. They landed up saying their competitors, AMD, product name more than their own product. Marketing matters and a bad product naming scheme creates confusion, just like it did with 10th Gen, like the i5-1035G7 actually being better than the i7-10710U . It also leads to satirical videos like the one from Gamer Nexus being created.

        • This bad naming is nowhere close to Xbox And Wii

      • these H or U series are really doing my head in. Back then an i7 was always better than the i5. Now you have an i5 better than an i7? Very misleading by intel, pure deception really.

For anyone not getting the prices, if you go to https://www.dell.com/en-au, choose laptops "For home" not "For business" There is a $100 extra for business due to windows pro. Home laptops give you windows home.

Wow … 11th Gen in XPS now … Tech is moving fast … Hope they come with AMD in xps 13 line someday …

    • +1

Maybe one day with USB 4.0, I don't think the performance difference is worth it to sacrifice thunderbolt ports currently

      • Agreed, I think its the only thing really holding the HP's AMD based Envy line back. Once AMD incorporates USB 4.0 into their laptops, going to be pretty difficult justifying increased cost of Intel alternatives.

  • Gaming laptop coming soon?

  • only 2 USB ports in the XPS 13. That's tight.

  • Everything is good but the battery in this 13 2in1 series always so lacklustre. Already replaced my battery within a year and now that replacement needs to be replaced. Official battery purchased through Dell Online.

  • Still can only get $1444 even when choosing win10 home

  • Nothing comes below Dell Australia customer service. Its is just way below the standard.
Try online chat or just give them a quick buzz to know more about the product and you will see.
Was going for similar deal they have and wanted to clarify about the shipping times. 5-6 minutes wait before each response over chat. Called them and after the initial rep who transferred me to the sales team got hung up after ~17mins wait. Twice!!!
Saying that dell does really have a reputation of having a sturdy laptop so am going for it anyway but just wanted to put this out there. Hope I dont come across any product issues.

    • Yeah sale reps are pretty bad, support reps are much better

    • Don't know about sales, but as far as support reps in my experience they were excellent. They came out to my place within a few days and fixed it within an hour

  • Hey chaps, I’m looking at getting a new laptop to run Rekordbox while DJing off a DDJ-400 I just purchased. Will this do the trick or do you have other suggestions?

    Thanks
