    • Catch Connect (Optus) has far better coverage. Using a $9.90 3 mth deal from last Kogan offer and the coverage outside built up areas is pathetic.

vodafone is so bad. telstra and optus are best in aus.

Nooo, just bought the $14.90 two days ago. Think what I could have done with those five entire dollars!

      The KFC $4.95 Fillup Box!

Bought this last night then found out for new customers only. Any chance to cancel the voucher with Kogan for a refund?

    • Once the deal finishes, sell it off on classifieds as I am sure someone would have missed out and want to get their hands on one of these. Otherwise, you can check with Kogan about cancelling the order because of their unclear listing and get a refund

New account/new phone number. Not new customer.

  • I'm confused with the New Customers comment. Does this mean it's only new when you port after being out of the system for 30 days or is it new with a new account created with a new email?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • Pretty sure you need a new email each time AND you can only port back a number previously used with them after 30 days

      • Darn. Not worth it the hassle.

        Hands in my OzBargain licence

      • Unfortunately I used my existing Kogan email. I was going to get a new number anyway, so hopefully it will work.

      • +2

You don't need a new email. I always use the same email to buy and activate a service.

    • It means new phone number. You can't port the same number out and in within 30 days. So you either port out, wait 30 days, port back in…. or you activate the new phone number on the SIM pack immediately.

  • Guys, what's its expiry date (the date before which the voucher should be redeemed)?

I am using Boost now, so "limited to new customer" is not an issue to me.

    • answer my own question:
Voucher expires at 11:59pm AEDT on 15/11/2020

  • Got one, will use it as test in car GPS tracker…

  • I got in contact with the Customer Support and they will refund once the voucher has been deactivated.

  • As I can't recharge, was looking for a cheap 30-day port-out SIM from 16th-Oct to get me to 15-Nov when this voucher expires.
    Anything better than these?

    $10/15GB $20 Coles starter
    $14/50GB $40 Vodafone starter

    • Yes $2 Telstra SIM from the supermarket. Port out using the Telstra SIM, don't 'recharge' any value onto it, then port back after 30 days. Or just do this to solve this problem forever for every new SIM deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/9416326

Or get a Kogan $4.90 SIM (activate its new number) for 30 days.

      • Thx, went the $3 1.5GB x4 renewals Amaysim deal

  • +1

Pathetic service. Used a few of their sim cards speed test max 20mb yet Optus and Telstra 100mb+

  • Ordered. Thx OP..

Misso's Amaysim ran out 2day so excellent timing…

  • So I assume we could sign up at 11:58pm AEDT on 15/11/2020? Porting would not happen until at least the next day so service would then be activated on 16/11/2020?

    • +1

Your service starts right away with Kogan even the porting is not completed. There'll be some days loss if porting is delayed.

You have 31 days to use the first 30 days plan, including the day on which the service is activated.

  • I'll get one of these in a few months if I'm going back to work in the Melbourne CBD to supplement data on the $150 with 84gb Woolworths12 month BYO phone plan I ordered yesterday. I'll get my wife the $150 Woolworth 12th SIM as well. The plan bonus of 10% off two bigger family shops per month (with two plans running) after the first 60 days of the plans will save about $60 per month or $600 a year, in yr 1, netting us a $300 profit minus $20 for a couple of Kogan SIMs for me for the data. Gotta love a dual SIM phone.
The great value 90 day Kogan SIM deals come up regularly. Thanks OP for reporting this one.

  • Thanks, just grabbed one. Will use it on holidays in a portable modem. Cheers!

  • Anyone knows what happens when you exceed the 20G/mth?

    • +2

      Nothing happens, it's prepaid.

I think there is "auto recharge" that you need to turn off so it doesn't recharge after the 90 days though.

      • +1

Thanks. So after if I exceed 20G in any month and want to continue using, I will have to top-up my data for that month?

  • How long does the sim take to arrive?

I am only at my current address for another week. I know that I get the activation code immediately in an email.

If I have that code and no sim someone indicated that I could just pick up a $2 sim at a 7/11 and could then use the activation code with that sim.

    Can someone confirm?

  • My sim card is taking so long to activate. Apparently it said should port within 3 business hours. Is this the norm?

  • Still yet to revive my sim

    • Me too, nearly 2 weeks now…

      • Said the sim was dispatched on 9/10 but I have yet to receive it in the mail.

        • Same. Still waiting and mine was supposedly dispatched on 12/10/2020. I have bought a few Kogan sims in the last 6 months and they have generally taken 2 or so weeks to arrive so hopefully it will arrive by the end of next week.

          • +1

@Rodo: Update: Just got mine in the mail today so yours should come soon hopefully.

            • +1

@Skinny Mocha: Thanks for letting me know. Mine also arrived today finally.

  • anyone else getting invalid voucher error upon activating this or is it just me ?

    • activated today, voucher went through with no issue but still can't make calls…Sigh

      • my code is invalid for some reason. did you port in from different provider ?

        • Yes I ported in from Vodafone.

    • Yes getting invalid voucher error

  • All done, took less than an hour to port from amyasim..

  • Anyone know if I can activate tonight, and port my old number in a later date such as December?

    • +1

You mean 2 different numbers? Yes. You can.

      • Yes 2 different numbers. Like having a new number today, and replace the new number with my old number next month.
