Got one, don't even know why I need it. Damn you OzBargain…

    • Good if you have a phone with Type-C OTG and want to connect a flash drive, or perhaps a mouse or keyboard?

    • +1

That's micro b, while this adapts USB C.

      • Oh so it is. Ninja edited my post to include aaaand now gone :)

        • when i see clear i think of chaiyyna dealz

      • Oh, you're right. They look so similar.

  • do these usually need some kind of certification?

    • +1

Nope. You're probably thinking of a USB-A to Type-C cable for charging where in the early days they lacked a ohm resistor. This is not that.

  • I know we usually buy first and ask questions later but what is this thing used for?

    • +2

Converts USB Type-C to USB-A. You could connect a USB flash drive, mouse or keyboard to a phone. Or the same with a laptop that has USB-C.

  • +3

Similar to this but cheaper 🤣…

    • +1

      lol @ apple premium

  • Are these the same as the ones that were included in phones /tablets when usb c was becoming the standard?

I could of made 40c instead of throwing them away :(

  • so it'll stack with cashback.

    How much casback?

    • There's a handy little button underneath the thumbnail called Cashback with the providers. I'd recommend Cashrewards or Shopback who both provide 5%.

    • $0.01

      • 5% is $0.0135. So who gets $0.0035? My statements round it up to cents…

        • No one unless you buy a few.

    • +1

AUD0.01 tracked in my Cashrewards account. Woohoo!

Why was my comment removed. It was not a referral nor affilate link.
I was saying that when I click on your Origial link it is taking me to .ru site on a SP3 and .com on Tablet.
More a question if a problem with your link. More a heads up. Amazed it was unpublished.

    Revised Original Comment:
Using the original link above My SP3 (WIn10) goes to the aliexpress Russian site and not the .com one
My Tablet (Android) lands on the .com site.
Using Edge or Firefox: The Link goes elsewhere and to a anrdoezrs site.

Mmmm. Is link stuffed or is it my Surface has Malware (unlikely) but will have to check in the morning.
More a heads up in case others get the same?

    • You must be signed out of OzBargain if it's going through anrdoezrs as that's Commission Factory and OzBargain serves affiliate links to guests. There's nothing malicious there.

      • No was signed in as would not have been able to post this comment.

        • +1

You were signed in on the tablet? OzBargain only dishes out affiliate links to signed out users and if I tried to post an affiliate link the system blocks it automatically as you've seen.

For AliExpress going to .ru would mean that at some point your region was set to Russia and it has remembered it. Earlier in the year there were coupons shared that linked to the Russian website as that's where a lot of them are obtained from.

          • @Clear: Was signed in on both (Web Browsers and not via App). It's a strange one as have never been to any .ru sites on either and both.
The SurfaceP 3 is clean (no malware etc). Just doing some more testing as something is cause it to deviate using the Link. Will need the check Sophos Firewall live logs and do some local network tracing on it.
            Thanks

  • Thanks Clear! Just what I was looking for :-)
Bought for the work laptop, which has 1 x USB-A port yet 2 x USB-C ports (soon I'll be able to connect the mouse and flash drive concurrently)

AliExpress still haven’t shipped out my lightning charger cord that was on sale for 1cent

    • +2

be ready to wait 4 months

    • +2

AliExpress? You mean the store you bought from since AliExpress is a marketplace.

    • Mine was shipped out the following day

  • Thanks!
I've been looking for this! Got a few :)

  • Thanks OP.

Should arrive in about 2 - 3 months with a bit of luck.

  • Most of the samsung devices comes with adapter as well.
I already have about 4 or 5 around.

Dont use too much but very handy to connect to pendrives

    • So you connect a pen drive to say an S10 via this device?

      • yes.
Also, you can get a Usb c pendrive if you are interested to buy one.

If you already have a pendrive with USB A, there are ones you need

        • And copy stuff from say the pen drive to the S10 or backup the S10 to the pen drive?

          • @ihbh: yes you can do that.
I have even tried with my External hdd. Works well

  • Seller is selling a lot of items dirt cheap.. even a car 12v socket 3 usb high speed charger for $0.33 https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000493492352.html?spm=2114.…

    • Thanks! Got the car 12v socket - hopefully should arrive in time for christmas :-)

      • Have you received your 12v car charger?

I ordered one with the adapter in OP but seller sent a phone stand instead (one of the other options in same listing) :(

        • Sorry to hear that - I havent recieved mine yet - tracking seems to suggest it has arrived here long ago, but hasnt turned up yet. Will let you know how I go.

          • @Dealking: Same thing here. Tracked in an “Australian sorting facility” close to a month ago but nothing since then.

Until today when my local Australia post depot rang me to notify of the package. Good thing the posties know me as apparently it has been there for more than a week. I would check your local Australia post depot.

            • @Chickfilo: Hey mate - I am on call with Auspost, they are asking me for an australian tracking number. Do you know how I can get that? What details did you give them to be able to track your parcel? Thanks!

              • @Dealking: Perhaps give them your name and address you provided on the order ?

Aus post rang me as they know me and noticed it has been sitting there for more than a week.

                • @Chickfilo: PM’d you my details. Thanks In advance!

                  • @Dealking: I spoke to my postie just now. He knows me alright since COVID. Said he will keep an eye. Fingers crossed.

      • +1

Some of these don't work on my Note 10.

        • Bummer, I will have to try to see if it works when the item arrives.

  • USB 2. Ain’t nobody got time for that.

  • Its showing no stock in china and no shipment from usa store :(

Should mark as out of stock?

    • Yep always report as out of stock. The OP gets those notifications as well as the mods.

Dear friends, due to the impact of the epidemic and the overweight of the goods you ordered, the express delivery costs have risen, but our store has been marketing with the lowest profit, so I need to ask you to make up for the shipping costs, can you? Its cost is about 1 usd. Or you need to apply to cancel the order, choose other reasons for canceling the order or do not want to buy, we will process your refund as soon as possible. At the same time, can you leave us a 5-star review? Thank you for your support, best wishes

    • +1

Seriously? Damn that sucks big time. Time to leave bad feedback!

    • +2

      I got it too…

    • +1

The audacity to ask for a 5 star review given this poor form. How about we all give them a 1 star review!

    • Got the same message too.

  • Haven't received the good news here yet.

  • +1

Cancelled the order after being asked to pay US$1 for shipping. No deal!

  • +1

Got the message too. Is it still worth it to pay US$1 extra. I ordered two. I have a feeling I will be charged 2 x $1.

  • +1

Extortion. After you pay the dollar the seller will probably ask for another dollar to cover some other fee? Vote revoked.

  • +1

Canceled my order after receiving the news, but now there's a tracking number allocated to my order. Interested to see how this plays out.

    • +1

Not hard to provide a tracking number that has nothing to do with your item?

  • +1

Once the order is paid and confirmed, they can't simply ask for more money. I will leave it for a couple months before I cancel the order. Though this should be reported to AliExpress customer service, but I reckon it's not worth the effort for something worth 20 cents.

  • i totally forgot about this order and when i logged into aliexpress saw the same msg too about paying for delivery!

  • I almost forgot about it but today found these delivered in my letter box!!

    • Did you pay extra like they asked?

      • No, but I checked my Ali express account and I did raise a dispute which was eventually marked as invalid. There was no option related to more money being demanded, so I just selected invalid tracking.

  • Received my order today too. I initially got the extra US$ message, as others did, after placing the order but I ignored it. I was going to wait a little longer and if they didn't turn up lodge a refund request. Glad I don't have to go down than path. I'm happy with my item at the advertised price.

  • So far the actual order has a invalid tracking on it, the seller gave me another invalid tracking number in messages after I paid the "shipping fee" and the "shipping fee" order has a tracking number on it that says delivered to NSW when I'm in WA.
