@PrinceOfWhales: LOL I told ya. submit the info, call them to expedite the request as it's prime day. your gift card order probably will get cancelled so can't use the code anymore but just talk to support and they'll credit you after you place a new order

            • @skido: When I try calling it just asks me to log in and then goes to the webpage saying to wait for them to process
              Got a number?

              • +1

                @MatrixM: 1800 571 894

I called midnight and they were online

                • @skido: Thanks. They made a note but the concerned department isn't available by phone. They want a billing statement that has my card number's last 4 digits and address etc. Unfortunately 84600 doesn't supply that in one document. Hopefully they'll accept my barage of screenshots as a substitiute.

my e-gift card is arrived, but my promotional credit hasn't, what is going on?

    • +1

Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within 2 business days

      • -1

oops soz thought it applies to physical card only

  • +2

I was able to get my promo code through amazon support chat

  • still works for me, I am using chrome with PC.

  • Wonder why my payment won't go through?

  • The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase

  • 2:07 AEST. "offer redeemed" before clicking through purchase. On a side note, my prime renewal email appeared, for the 16th. How convenient haha

  • Why the heck Amazon kept cancelling my gift card order after it was place successfully, blaming Amex. Amex said nothing wrong on their side too

  • -1

How exactly are Amazon able to stipulate a December 1st 2020 end date when all gift cards are meant to be valid for 3 years? Is this legal?

    • +4

guess everyone's too excited and up late at night can't think or read properly (yes me too) but it's

Promotional credit will expire on December 1st 2020.

      • +2

facepalm Thanks for that - definitely makes sense now. And yes, I think the Prime Day OZB onslaught interspersed with sleepy eyes and a fuzzy brain after working 10 hours has seriously impacted comprehension lol

        Thanks again!

    • +1

Maybe the credit expires that date, the gift card expires after 3 years

    • Its not the gift card that expires
its the promotional credit that does…. so no law is being broken.

    • The $10 is a promo credit, not a gift card.

  • Redeemed the code, thanks OP

  • Out of interest, can anyone tell me how long the $100, once transferred to Amazon Prime account, can be valid for.

I have received the email code already.

Just in case I don't decide to buy anything today.

    Thank you.

    • +2

      Amazon GC do not expire.

      • Thank you.

Is it better to "add" the $100 GC to my account first, or can I add that code directly to a cart?

        • +1

I add it to account first and then at payment options, choose to use GC as payment method. I usually do it this way. That way i don't have to search for the GC email when i am trying to place an order.
If you have sent the GC to yourself, then clicking link in that that email would directly add the GC to your account (so don't have to bother to copy/paste the GC #)

          • @bajirao: Cheers. I will do as you suggest.
Just cannot decide if I wish to purchase straight away or not.

  • Oh it gets emailed to you later

  • I just checked my invoice and it doesn’t say anything about the claim code. Does that mean it didn’t work?

    • +1

Good question - how do you know it worked?

I put the code in and it said it was accepted, paid the $100. Received the $100 gift card, but no mention of the $10 one anywhere. :o/

      • Same here, how long does it take to send?

        • Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within 2 business days

  • Cashback on gift cards?

  • +1

Says code accepted, no idea how to tell if still less than 5000 claims :/

    • +1

I think you can tell if you are still within the 5000 claims. Before you place your order, at Step 3 "Review Items and Delivery", you will see this message if you qualify.

      Qualifying offers
Congratulations. Your purchase qualifies you for a $10 promotional credit. You will receive an email confirming when the credit has been automatically applied to your account*

      • Didn't notice..
Got the 100gc but no sign of the 10 dollar one yet

        • +2

Got to wait a while for that.

Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within 2 business days after your order is shipped (for physical gift cards) or the order being completed (for electronic gift cards)

          • @bluesky: I can’t recall seeing that message. I used the Amazon iPhone app, entered the code, it asked me to confirm my credit card details and I made sure to enter the code again and there was a green tick with code applied or something along those lines.

I just wish there was a mention of it on the purchase email or order history.

I guess if it doesn’t appear in 2 days I’ll contact them.

            • +1

@Graffin: I was using a PC browser, so the displayed messages could be different from what you would see on the app.
But yes, just contact them if you don't get the credit - their customer support is pretty good, so it should be fine. A green tick typically means accepted.

              • @bluesky: The weird thing is, I just tried it on my desktop PC, and it says I qualify for a $10 promotional credit. You'd think if it was 1 per customer, and it was applied successfully in the app, it wouldn't show that now.

I contacted them via chat, the agent was clueless and I had to send her a link to the promotion, they were just quoting things they read in there like it's only available to prime customers, only for the first 5000, blah blah, but in the end, manually applied a $10 promotional credit which I can see is there when I try to make a purchase.

I wonder if everyone will get their $10 as promised. Guess we have to wait and see.

                • @Graffin: Yes, that is weird. My guess is they will give all accounts that buy any gift cards the credit in the end. Good that you have received a good outcome :-)

    • +1

      Promo credit received

  • +1

my code was not accepted, does that mean it expired?

  • Correction worked :)

  • Just tried then and it worked…..

  • I’ve really stuffed up, forgot to enter promo code

  • +1

Has this ended already? I'm getting: "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase."

    • I did it around 10 mins ago but haven't received my code yet.

  • +1

Just expired by the looks.. :(

  • Hi, I just ordered and it is still working. Didn't work until I joined Prime.

    • I signed to Prime just to get the Picard series lol. 🖖

  • Worked.

  • Thanks Op. Worked. After applying the Code, got the message that I am eligible to get the $10 credit.

  • +4

Worked initially. Then accidentally closed the window. Added the code again and failed. Then deleted item and started again. Just get can't be applied. Sigh.

    • same here, have you worked out a solution?

    • It's because you've already applied the code. Go through check out again and, just under the code section, should be:

      "Qualifying offers

Congratulations. Your purchase qualifies you for a $10 promotional credit."

      It's applied. Just check out.

      • I hope you’re right. I didn’t have a message but did enter it then closed the window but checked out anyway….

      • got it

        • the $10 Amazon promotional credit?

      • +2

Didn't see that as was on the app, but yes it showed up on desktop. Thanks.

      • +1

Thank you. Had the issue with the code not applying in the app. Worked Perfectly in desktop browser mode.

    • +1

This was me too. worked on my phone, then moved to browser, but then it says, 'congratulations. your purchase qualifies'. So hopefully it is what it says.
Also, seems like this works with the AMEX deal.

    • This happened to me after I changed my billing address… chatting to live support now

  • Gift card order can't be cancelled, is that right?

  • still working

  • +3

I reckon the 5000 limit is there to make us panic buy

they probably have a limit of 5,000,000..

    • +1

      5000 gone first hr . 99.99% sure .

  • +2

btw you can order smaller denominations at least the total in one transaction is $100

    i.e. 2 x$50, 4 x$25

good if you want to split it through multiple accounts (once you redeem a gc, it's locked to that acc)

  • . A confirmation email will be sent confirming that the promotional code has been applied to your account.

Waited 6 hours and still didn't get that. I was able to apply the code at check out so I'm tad confused.

    Well no loss

    • It's applied within 2 business days.

      • I thought the email will be sent confirming, then in two days the credit applies.

        • No, the email is sent to confirm that the credit has applied (within 2 days). So you'll receive the email once you actually have the credit applied.

  • Redeemed it just now with success

  • +1

    The first 5000 seem gone

    • Some of us were on at midnight so not surprised.

  • damnit I spent $260 last night

  • Worked for me. 6.20am WA

  • Just redeemed. Thanks!

  • Worked.

  • So any confirmation you get the $10 credit? I added the promo and it said it applied, but just wanna know.

Or has anyone checked out and bought something with $10 deducted?

Edit: I’m currently checking out and no $10 promo credit being applied, it’s been 2 hours since I purchased the gift card.

  • The only deal worth getting

Code applied was fine but not sure if I made it to first 5k there are more than 5k clicks on this deal

    • Not everyone checkouts.

  • The code applied and worked for me.

  • don't see any place to enter promo code?

edit: tried to add it again and then could see promo code. First time, it asked me to verify my card details and there was no place to enter promo code

  • Am getting a "The promotional code you entered cannot be applied to your purchase." but it weirdly stills says "Qualifying offers
Congratulations. Your purchase qualifies you for a $10 promotional credit. You will receive an email confirming when the credit has been automatically applied to your account"

    • same, i took a screesnhot and placed the order anyways. lets see how it goes

      • +2

I contacted them via chat and they told me that I'll still get the credit even if I wasn't able to apply the code due to the error.

  • Code worked for me, thanks

  • anyone got the $10 credit yet?

    • Should be in 2 days

  • Worked for me. Woohoo.

    Thanks OP.

  • Can I buy x1 $100 twice and end up getting two 10 credits?
Then used today? In theory on one transaction?

Will it let me stack like that

    Thanks in advance 🙏

    • +1

Negative. At least how I understand their terms and conditions: Limit one promotional credit per Amazon.com.au account

  • Code still worked at 11:40am AEST.
Thanks OP. Took a screenshot anyway just in case

  • Just got one then - code still working according to the notification just before payment. Thanks OP!

  • Notification prior to payment told me I qualified with the code when ordering at 12:10 AEST. Thanks OP!

  • Still working as of now

  • 1:22pm AEDST - promo code was successfully applied.
But 1:33pm still no gift card by email… (status is still "scheduled")
