      It depends on if there are any delays with your order. It can take as little as five minutes like it did for my gift card order.

    Doesn't this mean it's only 2 days for physical gift cards?

    It's "order being completed" for electronic gift cards - I assume once you receive the $100 gift card then "order is completed".

    Is that not the case?

      No - it applies under either scenario.

      If you bought an e-gift card, the easiest way would be to read it as this.

      "Your promotional credit will be automatically applied to your account within 2 business days after your order is completed (for electronic gift cards)"

      So expect it by Thursday COB.

          Well considering that they know the people will be spending anyways, why not try to shift some of that spending outside the peak times.

          A $10 credit might get somebody to buy something that they never would have bought.

          Amazon is not in the habit of giving away "free" money. That is not the reason why they are a $1.7 Trillion USD company.

    so according to amazon customer service rep "shubhangi", you don't even need to enter the promo code to get the $10 credit.
    any thoughts?

    my first order got cancelled so obviously i couldn't use the code again to order another gift card. they were adamant the credit was already applied to my account and that i'd see it after 48 hours. if that's true, then wouldn't people just cancel their gift card order knowing they'd get the credit anyway?

          You need to verify the payment method first. Then enther the code. You will see confirmation that the code has been accepted. Then click Pay.

    You will not find the gift card in your account under gift card balance section of Amazon, it will only be seen on items from Amazon.
