    • That one was only 3200 not 3600.

      • Yup, I did say slower

    • if going for more shine, then 4x8 would be the way to go

any more have their orders cancelled? called Amazon looks like some department cancelled whole orders directly and they need to investigate what happened

    • Mine wasn't canceled.

    • I had mine cancelled as well

    • yep mine was cancelled

    • Mine was cancelled. I bought it about 10 minutes before it went out of stock on their site.

    • Let me check, nope, still there, for now………………

    • i got mine cancelled got told stock issue :/

  • showing as $125.80

    • it's out of stock…

      • looks like in stock but at $125.80

        • $119.80 if you change it to the stock from Amazon US.

  • Building a pc for the first time and have little idea of what parts to get. Can't believe I choked on this deal as it looked pretty good.

At what point does RAM like this become overkill (eg what parts might bottleneck it, why is this better than cheaper ram)?

I've seen some midrange builds use RAM like this, w/ Ryzen 5, but the clock speed seems low?

    • 3200 CL16 is probably the most common speed and the best balance between compatibility and speed. 3600 Cl16 is one step up. For a few bucks extra it's worth it. Any higher it becomes diminishing returns.

3600 is the economic sweet spot for Zen 2 via previous Micron Rev E die iterations, but this can overclock further and would turn itself into a premium option for Zen 2, and likely be a good option for Zen 3.

The thing you're looking to determine is the infinity fabric clock for your processor, which in the case of Zen 2 is typically 1800-1900 MHz, with the goal of matching that 1:1 with the single rate speed of the memory. DDR is double rate, so you're targeting 3600-3800 MHz with Zen 2.

You can see the benefits of doing so here: https://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/3508-ryzen-3000-memory-be…

This stuff is a no brainer at around $100.

      • Those are AU amazon stock. The deal was from UK Amazon. Not the same. Easy to see the difference.

  • Damn, missed out - and I had my eye on these over the last 2 days.

  • I got the wrong items sent, instead of the 2 kits I received some cleaning brushes. Great. Can't exchange it either because its from Amazon UK. sucks.

    • Same thing happened to me, but not with this ram? So all you got was a refund? You got to keep the items?

      • Got to pay to send it back to the UK and then they'll refund me after. Crap situation.

        • Will Amazon not reimburse you or pay for the shipping since they got the order wrong?

          • @Tavisophical: They'll refund me the shipping after I send it back. I'm just annoyed with missing out on the deal. Hopefully it won't take that long to get back to the UK.

    • Hahaha. The deal was too good to be true.

  • Ah fair enough.
Yeah, it was a great deal indeed.
Better luck during black Friday sales
