For Secret Santas, Perhaps? Bowler's Run Wine - 6 Bottles for $15.00 at Dan Murphys

80

These were advertised today in the Daily Telegraph at 2 bottles for $5 and on the website as 6 for $15. If you do a search on the Dan Murphy site you can see all the varieties. I saw Shiraz, Semillon Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Merlot and Chardonnay.

I'm no wine expert, but I've had the reds and like them.

  • What the? $2.50 a bottle?!

That's gotta be quality plonk. I'm in!

    • it's their normal price… has been all year…

Cheap enough to be sure, but $2.50 in any 6 is the regular Dan Murphy's price for the Bowler's Run range.

    • "the regular Dan Murphy's price"

it sure is… and only $2.90 per bottle… it's probably overpriced too

  • I thought that was about the usual price for Bowlers Run… $3 a bottle tops.

  • seems like a good deal, and I like the idea of using it from Kris Kringle…!!!!

    it's an ordinary drop…

    • +1

would expect that for 3 bucks
however had one called cock and bull
that was like 3 bucks, i think the 2008 drop was quite nice
guess just need to try adn see if ya like it

      • Agreed. If the booze didn't make you go blind or cause brain damage, at $2.50 a bottle, that's very cheap.

(Note… Just realised, drinking in excess can cause that anyway… Nevermind…)

Also, note that this wine is Woollie's own 'Home Brand'

"Like many other ‘home brand’ products made by the supermarkets they are often made to increase the margin of the supermarkets at the expense of their suppliers – which often leads to the use of inferior raw materials."
"As a mater of principle and to show our respect and support for genuine hard working Australian wine makers, we do not review these wines and recommend that you avoid purchasing them."

If you want to contribute to these supermarket chains destroying our primary industries, go ahead and buy it…

    • Who would neg this??

It's the same deal with many imported labels in Dan Murphy's. You will find that if you go to the respective countries you would have an extremely difficult time finding some of them

      • "You will find that if you go to the respective countries you would have an extremely difficult time finding some of them"

Sounds a bit like Fosters. No-one here drinks it.

        • No what i was trying to say was the big retailers buy the wines, slap their own labels on there and sell it as an 'italian/french/spanish' wine. Many labels sold here are not sold in their home countries - they dont even exist

    • Also Woolworths seem to be the worst offender in this, their home brand products suffer the most to increase profit.

  • About 35 cents a standard drink… Unless ur on ur way to schoolies I wouldn't touch this stuff with a 50 foot pole!
