This deal is back on. I've had my FR935 for two years now and I still love it. Sure, there's no Garmin pay nor onboard music but those don't bother me much anyway.

Mod 27/10: Available again for $374 (Original deal post was $369), deal edited as the price difference is minimal.

OP 27/10: Also available from REBEL for the same price - https://www.rebelsport.com.au/p/garmin-forerunner-935-gps-he…

      And this is relevant because…?

        It's old. He's saying it's old.

  • Anyone tried running with one of these / Fenix models with the metal strap?

Also how well does the ForeRunner work with Strava - can it record sessions without an internet connection or having to carry your phone?

    • Metal strap probably wouldn't give you as good wrist heart rate but if you're serious about HR training you'll have a chest strap anyway.

In regards to Strava, you don't need internet or your phone, the activity saves to your watch then will sync with your phone / Strava when you get home.

    • They have quick release watch bands so if you like the metal bands just get the watch you want and also buy a silicon band off eBay and change it for activities.
The Fenix 6 quick release are awesome.

  • This watch doesn’t age, less of a smart watch more an amazing sports watch with notifications

  • If I hadn’t just pulled the trigger on a Venu I would’ve jumped on this. Agreed - awesome watch and a bargain of a price.

    • How are you finding the Venu tkotk?

      • +1

So far so good. The oled screen is very nice and the overall build/fit is great. Definitely recommend it

+1 for the venu. I've had mine for about 3 months now and I cant fault it!

  • I’ve just upgraded to the 945 which I love. However I had the 935 for 3 years and it was a rock solid watch. Absolute steal at that price.

  • Approaching 2 years with my 935. Don't think, just buy one

  • +1

Would buy a new one at this price just for a fresh battery, but after 2 years still no need as I'm still getting incredible life out of what I've got.

Just jumping in here to raise an alternative to those considering their options. The Coros Apex. I bought the Garmin 935 last time at this price and returned it and went the Coros instead as met my brief better being - build quality, battery life, accuracy of altimeter and a cleaner app/os with less bloat.
Happy to answer questions if anyone has any given the Garmin does have some advantages too in ability to control music, a larger range of watch faces, cheaper, better exercise plan management options etc.

The newly released Coros Pace 2 is similar price to the 935?

    • @drprox I note that neither Apex or Pace 2 have oxygen sats monitor? Do you use the sleep tracker? Also do you have to pay for exercise plan with Garmin/Coros?

What the GPS tracking like? Some of the reviews of Pace 2 appear it has a lot of errors although overall it appears to be better than Garmin
      cheers

Firstly mine is a 46mm Apex. I don't believe it is vastly different to the new Pace but the key items I love are being battery/build.

I don't use sleep tracker and by default the watch isn't really heated towards it with HR update every 10 mins (when not exercising). This can be changed but I personally don't much care for sleep tracking.

I haven't spent much time looking at plans but coros seem to have a number uploaded by people which can be saved to the app for free .

GPS is ace and certainly every bit as good as the Garmin was in the time I had it.

Overall I would recommend this device to people focussed on an exercise companion (more than say an activity tracker in general or smart watch). It had a particular focus on those in the ultra running/hiking/trails space. The battery life is frankly insane, the screens, detail and clarity of information I all find better than the 935 (along with aforementioned build quality).

Looks to be expired again. Showing as $560.81 for me.

    Cheers.

  • Deal is back on. Price $374.

  • bought this 2 years ago for $350. it is very light which I like. quite happy with it. wouldn't mind upgrading to a fenix (or marq if I won the lottery) one day for a more premium and dressier watch.
