Just saw this on Press Start. Maybe useful for those going next gen.

Between the 3rd of November and 9th of November, if you trade in your old console towards your next-gen preorder, you’ll also get double trade bonus for any games and accessories traded in as well.

      Mate, Google it or ask EB Games. There's like 4? different Xbox versions you can buy, and each will have different trade-in values.

      EDIT: So after 30s of reading the linked article:
      The Xbox Series X will be $329 when you trade in your Xbox One X (Level 4)
      The Xbox Series S will be $259 when you trade in an Xbox One S (Level 4)
      The Xbox Series X will be $509 when you trade in an Xbox One S (Level 4)

        I did look at the article which doesn't say what they give you for a 1tb og one. I figured someone might know what % they give like when you trade games, but hey, at least you got to behave like a gigantic phallic symbol.

              I didn't mean to cause offence, but it really didn't require much reading to find the trade-in values. And you'll still need to ask EB because that'll change depending on what you trade in, cables, attachments, games, controllers etc.

      I believe the percentages are for games, and there is a fixed amount for the traded consoles- if the memory serves right you can get the new Xbox series x console for 399 with the trade in of Xbox according to EB

        No, there's usually a trade bonus on consoles as well. I think level 4 gets you an extra 20% trade on consoles.

          Someone used my key barcode for five years and I didn't know about it until I checked my account online and in my history I had seen it had been used in stores I'd never been to. However they got me up to level three though.

              @pinkybrain: EB staff don't normally check. A lot of people don't bring their cards (they can lookup your membership by phone number).

                    how would you tie your new console purchase to your existing EB world account purchase history?

                    or does that mean on this same barcode account, there is gonna be like a quite lot of console purchases in it's history..

                    and what is the consequence of not having the console purchased in your own EB world account purchase history ?

                      @pinkybrain: Honestly, I agree with you, it is not going to work. You need to already have pre-ordered and there is no way you would let someone else gets the ability to pick up your PS5 or XBsX by paying the remainder (after you already paid the deposit and traded in your old console).

                      Also, I reckon EB could be lowering trade in values of some, if not most games prior to the event.

                      Another part is that the pre-order deposit paid won't have the carrots added until after the transaction is completed (i.e. new console paid for, collected). This means, if you are < 200 carrots short to reach next level. Would the trade-in credits also be held until the whole transaction is completed? Basically, you cannot enjoy part of the benefit while the whole transaction is in pending state.

                          Your EB world level is determined by the total number of carrots collected.

                          I am 70 carrots short of reaching level 3. However, technically, given that I already paid for the deposit for next gen console upgrade, I have 200 carrots yet to be added (which won't be until the entire console purchase is completed). My point is EB is smart. You cannot use parts of the carrots / points collected in a pre-order on that pre-order transaction, even if it is carried out in parts.

                          The main point is that you get at least 770 carrots / points from PS5 or XBsX. It doesn't make sense for most people not to collect those. If you do want to save, find a friend (your friend, not a stranger) with L5 or L4. What's so special about L3?

                how would you bind the new console to your own ebay world account purchase history, since we are using another account barcode/ID?
                won't they bind the purchase history to other person's account for the new console purchase?

                And is there any negs about doing this?
                Can't another person pick up your console, since the new purchase will be bind to their own account?

                do you increase your own levels, based on your own purchase history + amount?
                so you are going to not going to get this benefit?

                  @pinkybrain: The only neg to using someone else's account is you don't gain the points/carrots. Accounts don't require verification to get the bonus and phone number or email address will suffice.

                  To pick up your console you still have to verify your id.

                  PM me if you'd like to use my level 4 email, it has 20%+ trade-in and priority pre-release pick-up.

                  @pinkybrain: It'd be the same as you using my Everyday Rewards card or Flybys card. I'd get the points, but in this case you'd get the extra % towards your trade in.

                  I wouldn't be entitled to your console, as it'd be under your name. I was just putting this offer out there to help people, and I'd get the points.

                  On a side note, why don't we all just share one EB account so we can all get the benefits of this deal?

        As far as I know, there isn't a specific time limit. And there isn't a penalty, just their discretion. I.e. if you trade and buy back the same stuff too many times, they might say nope.

        It's subjected to stock availability though, so if they don't have it in stock, then you can't buy it back.

      Agreed with your edit, not worth it at $150. I was going to trade mine in along with my PS4 Pro for extra credit towards the PS5 but ended up just trying my luck on FB Marketplace, sold it with an extra controller and a bunch of games for $300 within an hour of posting it. Timed it right by the looks, lately there’s more of them going up for sale here at even lower prices and still not selling.

      What EB level are you on? You can get up to around $210 if you are a lvl 4 if traded towards an XSX or PS5.

      You won't get that much for an OG Xbox 1 through a private sale.

        I don't trade in things so I'm level 1 I guess. Just have a habit of never selling things. I still have xbox and xbox 360 and probably 100+ games. For $5-$10 for games I figure i might as well keep them. New consoles + games really aren't unaffordable, if you have a full time job. I guess people today are minimalist, but I come from a family of hoarders lol

    The PS5's preorders are sold out already, anyone know when it will be pre-orderable again? I have a PS4 Pro to trade in, hopefully it doesn't lose trade in value any time soon?
