Yeh not the same considering the general public usually will never get a chance to buy tickets to this game.

They don't even go on sale to the public normally.

        • +24

So you agree that this is a deal then? Normally it requires $100s of dollars in membership just to get a chance of a chance to get one.

          • -4

            @ScruffTheJanitor: No. It's not.

Clubs don't need casual bandwagoners who rock up when their team is winning.

Think 2016 and 2017, long suffering Dogs and Tigers fans, why shouldn't their members have the best chance?

            • +13

@scuderiarmani: Who are you trying to gatekeep the AFL? You just sound like some Victorian who's a bit hurt your game is being played in QLD.

              • -2

@richadam: Not hard to see I'm not Victorian.

I don't GAF if I get a million negs. Casuals clearly all over OzBargain.

                Members deserve priority.

                • +1

@scuderiarmani: How many members of these clubs are in Queensland at the moment, or coming from places where they wont need to quarantine?

                • +2

@scuderiarmani: Are you sure you understand the nature of this website and what we do here, or are you perhaps new?

'Casuals' get great deals for stuff I like all the time, that I routinely miss out on because of the nature of Ozbargain. Sometimes I get there first and buy stuff I'm barely interested in out from under someone looking the other way who actually desperately wanted that thing.

This site, like the vastest majority of bargain and coupon sites, is simultaneously the embodiment of dirty pool and 'ya snooze ya lose'. There's no noble sentiment here, nor any fair go. First past the post with their credit card wins.

                  • +1

                    @IPYF:

Are you sure you understand the nature of this website and what we do here, or are you perhaps new?

From their previous comments I don’t think they do

            • +1

@scuderiarmani: I think most clubs would beg to differ, casual badwagoners would more than likely make up a large percentage of their annual revenue. Most of the merchandises at the games would be bought by casuals and not die hard members.

              • @ozaym: Except memberships actually go to the club…

Try backing up the casuals buy merchandise over members please.

                • @scuderiarmani: So you think the 10-20 million dollars a year AFL distribution to clubs comes out of thin air?

I've being supporting the pies for the last 20 years, probably bought a jersey every 3-5 years? but most of the people I take to the game will buy something as a memento with out fail.

        • -1

it's a Victorian GF played in Brisbane, and Victorians are pariahs to Palaszczuk…
It's not shocking that there are free seats.

      • Looking at the comments that other people posted on how many are in front of them and the speed the tickets are sold out, no doubt what you and OP said are validated.

    • -4

Some people actually like to watch real humans play sport, instead of playing make believe sport online.

      • -1

        Not sure your point…

      • It's all entertainment boss. That's just like saying wrestling isn't good because it's not real.

The reason I watch sports is for the excitement, the athleticism, the showpersonship, etc.

Same reason you don't leave a game early even if your team is getting flogged. You might miss mark/goal of the year.

First time AFL grand final tickets have gone on sale for 20 years, I’d say that’s worthy of a post. Certainly more worthy than Switch deals at RRP

    • +5

You realize games have been played infront of a crowd all year in Brisbane right?

There were 29k at this ground last Saturday. Wheres that outbreak?

      • +2

They meant you’ll be infected with being a QLDer.

No one wants to end up as a Mad Katter…

      • +1

There was 37,000 at Melbourne vs Canberra in the NRL last Friday in Brisbane and with Lang's Park ticketing system failing there was zero social distancing when 20,000 were stuck outside, no news of an outbreak so far.

        • For an outbreak to happen, at least one person needs to be infected

  • This will be interesting. I wonder how full the stadium will, actually, be.

    • -7

It has been capped at 30,000 due to the stupid QLD Govt instead of the normal 42,000.

  • Good news is for QLD no 100K + Richmond Members for starters can go so supply should be better :)

  • +3

The scalpers would really be cutting themselves now that Brisbane missed out on getting into the GF.

Will probably be the only chance normies ever get to see a GF, given how hard tickets are to get in most years!

    • Believe me Bubble States would take the public allocation so when 10AM hits its the quick and the dead .

  • -8
    jokepost??
  • +1

Oh I can only wish! Stuck in being loody virus stricken Melbourne- carn the Tigers!

  • +2

What I would pay for this experience .

    $185?

  • Quick tip tablets are better than desktop devices when the congestion hits :)

    • why doe?

    • For streaming?

  • +4

Haha, being a tad dramatic there. Maybe NFL superbowl or FIFA World cup final?

  • -5

Scored two! Now to resell for triple price to some lousy QLDer….

    • +4

I wouldn't count on it, what might seem a bargain to those in VIC could well be seen as overpriced to those in QLD.

      • It is the home of the potato minister so…

        • So….? Are you salty about QLDs hand in the last Fed election outcome? Seems to be some QLD and Lib hate coming from you.

  • +2

I have 12645 in font of me on desktop = no hope there .
    Corporates have them all .

  • Hit go immediately…

    12k infront of me :(

    • 18k me

      • +3

Hahahah there’s a bug in the system. Once you bought you can buy more without re entering the queue!

  • +5

Woohoo, scored one! For one week and one week only, I am a Cats supporter.

  • 2500k in front of me now, think I'm in with a chance…

    • 2.5m people caring about this gf? Yeah right…

      • +1

Good pickup, I'm a bit of a spud with maths

        • You should work for the tax office. I wouldn’t mind a few extra zeros on the end of my tax return…

  • +1

    Anyone want some ? Sec 48 Row AA ? 350 - 351

    • Pm'd

      • Sorry mate - only had 4 mins or so to hit buy. Sorry.

    • +2

Ah well, timer just ran out - thought I could have helped someone on here out as I have no interest but must have been right there early in the line. P.S. I wasn't out to make money on them !

  • -3

For what this is costing Qld taxpayers, the Govt should have pulled an MSI and kept some stock for themselves to scalp and pay back the billions of debt they owe…

    • How much does it cost?

  • Finally get through and cop this bullshit…

We couldn’t find the tickets you searched for
Please change the quantity or ticket type selected.

  • +1

Family member has a crows pass 5 rows from the field, often used there pass despite not really caring about AFL, atmosphere is always great. Feral language from members children is the only negative, homophobia by 10 year olds.
I would go if I lived near by.

    • Those attitudes start at home

  • +2

    Got 2 tickets!

    • +2

      Give the man an upvote

  • -4

The best estimates put forward by each of the states pitching for the match were crowds of around 30k. If this proves to be correct, pretty much everyone who wants to buy a ticket will be able to.

    • +3

Cool so clicking link 1 sec in on 1 desktop and 2 tablets I couldn't get 1 .
      You have no clue .

      • Fair enough. I stand corrected.

  • +2

Jumped on with about 6 minutes to run. Got 4 tickets. Maybe Karma making up for the whole Xbox fiasco

  • +1

If anyone bought excess tickets that they dont need/want - send me a DM, sadly missed out!

  • +1

    I got through to choose your ticket but can't find any trying 1 , 2 , 3 and 4 : (

  • Damn, didn't get a ticket. Been a cats fan for life and noooo bueno.

If anyone runs into an excess ticket let me know, would really appreciate it.

  • +4

I got 2 tickets at 381! I'm a port supporter so I'm soewin they didn't make the big dance but can't wait to see hopefully a cracking game of footy. Shouting a mate who's a die hard Geelong fan and would never be able to afford the experience.

    • Port always chokes. No surprise.

      • Yeah half expected it unfortunately.

  • Looking for 1 ticket. PM me!

  • +4

Didn't get one, but as a Port Adelaide supporter I'd booked a jetstar flight for 23 Oct from Adelaide to BNE, through Sydney, for $470 + cancellation cover + bag + seat selection, just in case. (about $565 all up.)

I figured rather than cancelling, I'd offer the flight at cost to someone who did get a ticket to the game, as flights are currently running a craptastic $821 on the 23rd.

But then I realised that without name change ability (which starter fares don't have), it wouldn't work. During normal times, anyone who could pass as a female could use it, but with the current Border Wars, there's just too great a chance that QLD will check arrivals' names against the passenger manifest. :-( Sorry, all… I tried… :-(

    • Sooo, just have a quick impromptu Brisbane holiday instead hehe.

      • It’ll be packed!

  • OzBargained 😁

  • I hope it’s a cracking game. I’m from Geelong, but I’ve got a friend who is a Richmond supporter.

I prefer to watch American Gridiron, myself; cross country wrestling with Committee meetings.

Best of luck to all and stay safe.

  • -3

Wait do I get paid $185 to watch this? If so, it's almost a deal.

  • See the little master on the grand stage in his final game. I'd pay a mint for this.

  • A final batch of tickets will go on sale in 15 minutes
