    OzRRP again

    • +1

I'd like to see where the RRP is $611.10

      • +3

But it isn't? $611.10 is with the 10% gift card, not the actual retail price from JB Hifi.

        • -1

So do we go by actual retail price on ebay plus or other coupon deals?

          • +5

@Pricebeat: This isn't coupon though and also targeted (Union only)? Or should we list every single item that is eligible for discount gift card.

Example every single item at Woolworths because 5% discounted e giftcard?

            • @Bigboomboom: Do we list every single item coupon can be used on? Not targeted as per rules of Ozbargain.

        • Yeah, anyone can get gift cards

          • @jayboi: I'm now sure everyone has membership with union?

            • @Bigboomboom: There are other websites that offer discount on Jb hifi gift cards which still makes it cheaper than RRP

              • +4

@Pricebeat: Yes, my point is should we make post about everything on JB Hifi because such giftcard exists?

                • +1

@Bigboomboom: My point I posted what I find good use of it. you are allowed to do whatever you like. I would love to see you making same statement on every coupon code post.

                  • @Pricebeat: Because a discount gift card is different from discount coupon. A discounted coupon is marked as on sale by retailer, this isn't. E.g you don't see AMEX statement credit advertised as sale from retailer nor do people post RRP item on such deal.

Also majority of discounted gift card deal in the past is when original price is already lower than RRP e.g Ebay giftcard deals so it in itself is sort of already a deal, coupled with the discount gift card.

Do remember why cashback price isn't allowed as deal for RRP item either.

                    • @Bigboomboom:

                      Not true
                      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/347482

                      And plenty others.

                      • @Pricebeat: Not sure if you read the link you posted.

"As per title, Nintendo Switch currently on special @ Harvey Norman for $399"

It's already on sale not RRP.

                        • @Bigboomboom: My point was about you stating others not posting such deals there are heaps more. Here’s another one from quick search
                          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/460352

                          • @Pricebeat: You are still missing the point those are not RRP. In same link someone comments it was $519.

Anyway I think we can agree to disagree.

                            • @Bigboomboom: While I agree with you, the mods don't, here is their thoughts. (made a report to them to see what they were)

We are not removing deals because they are RRP - up to community to decide if it is a good deal or not.

So RRP deals are "legit" unless the community here votes it down.

                              Crazy for a "bargain" site

                              • +1

@RockyRaccoon: You say bargain site but you ignore the users that are eligible for gift cards. Not every post has to apply to everyone

                            • @Bigboomboom: iPhones are rarely discounted. This is a recent price drop even if it’s a new RRP and combined with gift cards makes it better. Many people wait for new models to be released before buying last gen and if they can use gift cards for extra discount on something which is rarely discounted to that price, is worth posting for me.

            • @Bigboomboom: I didnt talk about the union, but anyone can get a standard gift card online or in store

              • @jayboi: And not everyone can get the 10% off so your point is?

                • @RockyRaccoon: Many others can get at least 5% to 6% off

                  • @Pricebeat: Then why not add those to your post.

eg Him/her cards are available at AGL at 10% off, but not available at Suncorp.

Your deal is based on where you get discounted cards, so let people know as many options as you can

    • +4

      Agree

This is the new RRP for the iPhones as listed 679 and 999
      See https://www.apple.com/au/iphone-se/
      https://www.apple.com/au/shop/buy-iphone/iphone-11

So the deal is based on having access to JBHiFi Gift cards from Union Shopper at 10%. (or AGL rewards) - Him/Her cards

If that constitutes a deal, then it should be listed as Union Shopper 10% off Gift cards - eg save on Iphone etc

im surprised that apple even make 64gb versions!

    • +4

If you're coming from Android, I can understand your statement very well. My wife's been on 32GB for the past 4 years. Going fine.

  • Remember, all iPhones (including existing models) do not come with charger and headphones in the box.

    • but the iphone SE came with a regular USB charger despite supporting fast charging, which the new adapter does support

Thank you to those who have supported this post. Don’t let others dictate for you, what posts you are allowed to see on this website. Because some don’t apply to them. There are methods to hide posts for those that don’t want “OZRRP”

AGREE….Not a bargain, As it is the same as apple store https://www.apple.com/au/iphone-se/

  • Does JB show GST on tax invoice if paid by gift cards? I heard they didn't and store reps wouldn't do anything about it.

    • Why wouldn't they? It's a legal requirement to show GST regardless of method of payment.

    • And did you even bother reading the comments in that post (which by the way is over three years old; anything can happen in three years, like a pandemic …)

      • -1

Yes I did. That's why I asked and wanted to be sure they are doing the right thing now.
