TCL 65" 65X10 Mini LED Android TV $2795 Shipped (+$200 Bonus EFTPOS Card via TCL) @ Appliance Central

140

My first post in OZB. Purchased this TV for $3090 on 6th Oct from Appliance Online price matching Appliance Central at that time. The price has come down even further and apparently I asked Appliance Online if they can refund the difference with price match guarantee. But I was told its valid only for 7 days and hence they could not do anything. Coming from Samsung Plasma TV, I felt this TV is amazing especially the colors and black levels. So far no complaints and hope this deal helps

If it ain't 8k or a Samsung, LG or Sony, then it's almost guaranteed to not have full(or close enough) HDMI 2.1(by that, I mean 4k@120hz). Not all Samsung, TLC & Sony TVs obviously have HDMI 2.1, but they're the only ones I've seen sell 4k HDMI 2.1 tvs.

Some 8k TVs don't even support 4k@120hz either so you'll have to look specifically at the specs if you're after a specific feature or if the manufacturer has promised any updates(like the Sony x9000h)

Quite the premium price for a non-OLED, non-Samsung/Sony/LG TV. But the reviews are good.

Spend a bit more and get an LG OLED when on special, nothing compares! (burn-in issues are a thing of the past (a few generations ago), and should this rare occurrence present itself, then it would be covered under our generous Australian consumer affairs legislation). Not only does LG almost future proof their TV's with all the bells and whistles, but regularly updates its firmware, and its webos in terms of navigation and features is second to none. I've had Samsung, Sony and various other brands. OLED all the way. Crisp vibrant colours, true blacks, and incredibly energy efficient. Just my two bobs worth.

Mini LED is as good as OLED with better brightness and never a chance of burn in.

TV is amazing especially the colors and black levels

Why not get a LG OLED for similar price if you care about colors and black levels? They are regularly on special.

    • Colours arguable.
      Blacks, yes.

    • 65" OLED last year yes… since COVID, looking at another 1k. Not apples to apples in terms of value for the time being but hopefully that returns.

That’s an expensive TV. Must be very, very good.

    • For cheapie Chinese brand too.

      • I paid a little more for an 82” Samsung that’s superb.

The panel on this would be alot better then your Samsung one unless you got the Q950 or Q800 but my bet is that you got the TU8000. At sizes over 80" I find Sony to be the better of them for there upscaling

  • thanks for the deal

  • Think it's TCL's version of OLED… cuz their normal 4k 65" TVs are heap cheaper than this… In this money you get 55" LG OLED… so good deal if you're in the market for the 65" OLED but are on limited inflexible budget….

    • Mini led is not al LCD backlit with heaps of small LEDs for super full array local dimming. It's good. But not OLED good.. next year we will see Mini led from LG Sony Samsung Hisense and another version from TCL

      • What happened to the microLEDs aren't they due next year

  • I don’t get why this is so expensive compared to the US model R635 which is getting amazing reviews and is around USD$1k

You paid over $3k for a non flagship TV model crazy…

I Would have waited for Black Friday sales for an OLED

Doesn't matter what the name on the box is, all TV's can fail well before the 1yr mark or even reduced picture quality over time.

      • What are you on about of course they can fail, but reduced picture quality what 🤦‍♂️ But that's not even my point I was talking about…
