  • thanks, picked up a notebook sleeve

  • Not bad! They are a little thin, but they are still a good protectant if you are going to slip your notebook into another bag such as a backpack. (Bought one exactly the same but in a slightly smaller size a couple of weeks ago…and paid 5x this price :P)

  • still waiting for my survival metal card thingy from a few weeks back :(.

    • I got mine a few weeks ago(1.5 weeks later) ordered same time. Maybe yours got lost in the mail.

    I have one of these.

It is so awe-full. A piece of paper is probably better. Cardboard definitively is. Barely worth 5 cents.

I have one of these for my netbook.

I dropped my netbook at the top of a flight of about 20 stairs. It bounced down hitting the edges of the notebook three or four times on the way (metal stairs). The notebook took a couple of dents, but still works perfectly. It's an Acer E350, so it wasn't some special tough netbook. The sleeve sacrificed itself, it now has holes at all the places it hit.

I wouldn't underestimate the protection that neoprene provides.

      • wow imagine what cardboard would have done then, made it better?

        • +5

Maybe, but it wouldn't have had the cool bouncing.

I own a Thinkpad. If you had said it was a Thinkpad T or X model, I probably would've believe your stiry.

        • +3

          Why would I lie?

Ah well. You can choose to believe me or not.

You don't really own a Thinkpad. If you had said you own a Dell Mini, I probably would've believe your stiry.

I have one and I love it, does the job I want it to, which is keep my Macbook Pro from getting scratched in my bag to and from uni.

Been using it all year, and its perfect.

    Still too expensive…

I see you have got some OzBargain spirit in you ;)

  • Do 15" please!

  • Got the same on for my 16" notebook, fantastic quality. Really recommend this.

  • Glad I held off buying this on ebay months and months ago!!! Second purchase from these guys this week!

  • I have the 15" version of this. I slip my laptop in it before I put it into my bag so it doesn't get scratched/dirty.

Good extra bit of protection for someone as clumsy as me. Cost me $6 or so at the time from ebay so $2odd is a good price.

Air it out though. Smells of pure chemicals when you get it.

  • Does it fit a T400 Thinkpad with a 6 Cell Battery?

The battery sticks out is all.

  • anyone use this for a 13.3inch laptop? i know the sell that size specifically but im hoping this won't be too big.

    • +1

Do you have a macbook pro? The case is slightly bigger than that - just look up the dimensions for your model and see.

      • Lol good idea don't know why I didn't think of that. It's for a asus u36sd

        • hey i brought it for the same laptop the U36SD
it probably fit with a little room i guess.
          and its only $2.19c
          so cant go wrong hehe

how are you finding your laptop?

        • so far so good! the only complaint i had was the keyboard (and missing key strokes) but I'm slowly adapting to it now. Apart from that the battery life is great (getting around 7-8 hours on battery saver mode) and the screen size isn't too bad at all (going from 15.4 to 13.3).
The only thing that worried me was the heat - seems to warm up little - cpu is ~50 on idle) but i've been told this is normal/fine.

Ive installed twofingerscroll (it's a google code add on) which makes scrolling really easy, apart from that no changes, any tips/tweaks?

        • yes exactly the same for me!! missing some key strokes, maybe not use to the chicklet style keyboard outlay. but slowly getting use to it.

yes battery life is awesome on the 8cell. im getting around the same 7hours + on low brightness and the 13inch looks great with the 1366x768 resolution.

yes same at nights the lower left is like a mini fan heater haha. and lower right side heats up a little if the harddrive is in high use.

i upgraded the ram at the bottom to 8gbs. and that heats up pretty hot when over 80% usage. so might get one of those usb fan cooler lay on thingy.

hmmm i had to upgrade the bios and sound drivers. because if you close the lid and the laptop goes to sleep, after a couple of hours you re open it you wont get sound. instructions link here.

and when i use the laptop at home and battery is fully charge i take it out, so the battery life will last longer in the future. and also the laptop is then super light when using it on lap in bed. not even 1kg i reckon haha.

besides all that im loving it. and in the future when the prices are down just going to upgrade to a SSD harddrive and ill be set with this laptop :D

        • I forgot to mention the sound driver issue! had the exact same thing!! luckily the drivers fixed it up. And i also upgraded to 8gb ram and noticed it heats up a bit haha..not too much though i guess being so slim it is expected. I am really keen to upgrade to SSD, there are some guides on the net but you basically have to open the whole laptop. It doesn't seem like there are any void if removed stickers around the hard drive, but i have been told by asus opening it will void the warranty. I'm thinking as long as you keep the original drive and swap it back before any warranty claims should be ok?
But yea waiting for SSD prices to drop and i'll probably go ahead with it.
