Free AirPods with eBay Plus Trial Today Only from 2pm AEDT @ eBay Australia

2290
TPLUSPO

I did a search and I don't see this has been posted yet. Just received this in my eBay messages, only 700 pairs available. Check your account to see if you're targeted eligible.

Here's a link to a screenshot for proof.

Edit: now that I've had a chance to read through the T&Cs more closely, it's important to note that you must have signed up to Plus before 2pm today (see highlight in bold below). Also, according to the actual listing, these are 2nd Gen Airpods so they should be okay.

Edit 2: if you strictly interpret the T&Cs this is not targeted. So, if you already have Plus I don't see why you can't sign up with another eBay account and see if you get the invitation to redeem the code.

T&Cs:

Acceptance. By using or attempting to use the redemption code for this offer, you agree to accept and be bound by these terms and conditions.
Offer Period. This offer is available from 14:00 (AEDT) 26 October 2020 until 23:59 (AEDT) 26 October 2020 (“Offer Period”) or until sold out. eBay reserves the right to cancel the offer at any time.
Conditions. The offer entitles Eligible Customers to $249 off the purchase price (excluding postage costs) on the Eligible Item listed on www.ebay.com.au, up to a maximum discount of $249 per transaction. A maximum of one transaction, one item per person applies. All monetary amounts specified in these terms and conditions are in Australian dollars (AUD).
“Eligible Customers” means Customers who:
Have signed up to a free trial of eBay Plus between 07:00 (AEDT) 26 October 2020 and 14:00 (AEDT) 26 October 2020; and
receive an email from eBay inviting them to redeem the Coupon code TPLUSPO

“Eligible Item” means Apple Airpod item number 123932436002.
Redemption. To redeem this offer during the Offer Period, enter the Coupon code TPLUSPO into the redemption code box during the checkout process. This code cannot be used in conjunction with any other eBay offer, coupon or voucher. You can only use the redemption code once during the Offer Period. The code is provided to you as an eBay User and the limitations on its usage apply on that basis even though you may have registered a number of different eBay User IDs.
eBay rights. Without limiting other remedies and in addition to eBay’s rights under the User Agreement, eBay reserves the right to disallow or reverse a discount or prohibit access to this offer in circumstances where eBay believes:
you have provided false information, conspired with others to gain an unfair advantage or have otherwise been involved in any way in manipulating, interfering or tampering with the conduct of this offer;
a sale or purchase of any item as part of this offer has not been made in good faith, including where eBay considers that the buyer and seller may be related parties (such as family members or parties sharing the same dwelling); or
buyers or sellers have engaged in collusive conduct or any other conduct which eBay considers unfair, fraudulent or untoward.
Active. You must be an ebay.com.au registered member with an active account at the time of redemption (not suspended nor made inactive by eBay).
Shipping. Items will only be shipped to addresses within Australia.
Returns. If you return or seek a refund on any item purchased using this discount, the value of the discount will not be refunded to you.
No withdrawal. This offer cannot be withdrawn into your bank account and cannot be transferred.
Stock. Sellers are responsible for their own stock and eBay does not guarantee the availability of stock. This offer is only available while stock lasts.
Liability. To the extent permitted by law, eBay will not be responsible for any loss incurred by you in redeeming or attempting to redeem the offer or for any costs, damages, accident, delay, injury, loss, expense, or inconvenience that may arise in connection with the use of the offer.
Changes. eBay reserves the right to vary the terms and conditions of the offer at its reasonable discretion by publishing revised terms on ebay.com.au.
Jurisdiction. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the state of New South Wales.

          • @Gubna: you really got the pods?

            • @9hundred: the transaction went through, at least

              • @Gubna: How did you manage to do it? Were you targeted for this promo?

                • @dcool75: not as far as I know I just signed up for plus before two, and then the code worked at 2

  • +1

Standard crowdsourcing marketing method to garner new, additional ebay plus members. Absolutely no hope of scoring those AirPods - they’ll most likely be snapped up by bots.

I can’t believe this bingo bargain, not race to win airpods constitutes a “bargain”. Beyond me.

  • +5

    TAKE NOTES EVERYONE:

sign up for a new account, buy some stuff on it and never sign up to ebay plus.
leave the account untouched for years and hope ebay does another one of these LOL

  • +1

    So it's targeted.

    “Eligible Customers” means Customers who:

    Have signed up to a free trial of eBay Plus between 07:00 (AEDT) 26 October 2020 and 14:00 (AEDT) 26 October 2020;

    and

receive an email from eBay inviting them to redeem the Coupon code TPLUSPO

  • +3

You must have an active eBay account without plus activated, look at the OPs screen shot.

It’s an offer to join plus, it’s no good joining plus and then hoping to receive the offer.

Targeted at customers that meet x+y=offer (no guarantee on accuracy of formula)🤔😂

    • Yeah, I don't think people who sign up to ebay plus without receiving this invitation will get the offer. OP received an invitation to get a free airpods if OP signs up for ebay plus today between 7-2. So, obviously OP did not have ebay plus when he got this email and he got targetted.

  • This time is 10x harder than June Sale.

    Good Luck!!

  • If its targeted no point signing up new accounts now. They are probably looking to 'upgrade' long term users who have not tried the ebay plus trial but do use ebay regularly.

    • +1

      ehh…

I just made a new account and already have the item in my cart.

at 2pm gonna give it a whirl, then cancel my trial, and delete the ebay account

      • most likely not gonna work. To get any ebay plus trial offer, ive been told that you must:

        • have a feedback score of 3 or more
        • have an account that's at least 1 month old
        • who told you that?

          • @tabboo: ebay support when I was querying about a promotion for new ebay plus trials

            • @skido: cheers. either way, ive already created the email, and account, so worth a shot.

              • @tabboo: Check your summary page if you have a coupon code: TPLUSPO

If not, don't waste your time.

  • OP did you ever have ebay plus on this account?

  • eBay had one of these free airpods in August but 1000 as a competition. https://tc.ebay.com.au/plusairpodsofferaugust2020 but no one reported they had won so I'm a bit suspicious of these.

  • So i got the message, long time member, never had Plus before. So do you have to just sign up to the free trial to get the airpods or will you be charged the yearly rate ($49)?

    • Free for first month than yearly rate is applied on the next month.

  • Wait so I need to sign up for ebay plus before 2pm for the chance to score free airpods after 2pm?

    • yeah this is what i want to know.

    • Sounds like it's "have an existing account that's never had eBay plus, receive this email to sign-up today, sign-up today, buy airpods for free

      • But there's no guarantee you can get the airpods as they're different transactions right?

  • I accidentally let my eBay Plus renew a few months ago. What have I got out of it? Nothing! They should be giving me the airpods.

    • +7

Yes you should call up everyone company that ever automatically renewed you for something and demand Airpods from them. Start with insurance.

      • -1

Thanks for agreeing with me. I've had eBay Plus since day one and only recently has everything I buy become void of free shipping so now I have no use for it.

I'm not one of those suckers that exploit trials. Nice try. I also believe loyalty should have rewards but that never happens. It's also why most people shop for their car insurance each time.

        • +2

loyalty should have rewards but that never happens

which is why i exploit trials. especially kogan's.

          • @tdw: bUt ExPlOiTiNg BiG bUsInEsS iS wRoNg as they would say

            • @Clear: then let the CEOs cry into their $100 notes ;)

              • @tdw: With their $20,000 worth of watches.

      • Gas and electricity companies too

        That'll teach em

    • +2

Wouldn't it be better if they offered this for users who have had an active ebay plus account for at least 3 months+ or more

      • Yup. I've had mine for years so it would be excellent.

  • -2

is it only airpod or anything worth 249$?

    • +1

      Just the AirPods

  • +2

Can anyone share the link to the trial with via free pods msg? There could be a higher chance of winning the lottery

  • Simple just give sitewide 20% discount.

  • -5

how good are these version of airpods?

    • +2

Are you really gonna ask that when they're free?!

      • no offence meant.
just wanted to decide whether to use it or gift it to the girlfriend

        • Pretty sure anything Apple will be well received. I've never seen anyone who has declined Apple products.

          • @nightelves: you took me wrong. if they're really good I will keep it for myself

            • @jee: Giving them to gf might earn you Brownie points

            • +1

@jee: Giving to GF and you will end up earning lot of rewards & surprises compared to any other reward programs out-there.

  • Signed up then got an email "The key to free AirPods Inside" and got a really excited!!
Only to see it's the advertisement for the free AirPods - AHHHHHH!!

    • what? were you targeted?

    • +1

      can you post the picture/link

    • +1

      Same

    • let's see the proof

    • +1

nothing to prove here, it was just the advertisement they sent - as it turns out you needed to use the coupon code at checkout, anyone waiting on a "here's your free airpods" email was sadly waiting for something that was never coming.

  • I'm quite sure this is targeted, because when I try to start the free trial it says:

"You have already tested eBay Plus for free. If you sign up now, the annual membership fee is due immediately".

I did not renew my eBay Plus membership in September, so am currently not an eBay Plus member. So this means it's specifically targeted to those who have not initiated an eBay Plus trial in the past.

  • So I signed up to eBay plus via the offer on the app.

Am I supposed to check my personal email or eBay messages for the code?

    • +2

You can have my code, I won't be using it.

      TPLUSPO

  • +3

signed up plus but no email from Ebay?

    • Same here

    • As in you had the message in your Messages, you signed up for Plus (having not had it before)?

I havent got Plus, i already have the free airpods messages, am about to sign up for Plus.

      • +1

how old is your ebay account? trying to understand the criteria they're using to target accounts

        • Probably close to 20 years

        • Signed up, didn't check the home page before hand. Using a year+ old account with 3 feedback score. Didn't get a message.

          • @Flamexio: So did you have the message in your Messages box prior to signing up?

          • @Flamexio: did you get the AirPods promotion email or message at all?

    • Same

  • Anyone received code for Airpod

    • Just signed up, havent got code yet either.

  • Long Version;

If your not a member or have not trialed plus before, if you sign-up to plus today then you may get selected for this offer.
Then if you are selected for the offer, you then get to bid against the bots for one of the 700 airpods. Sure you should have a greater chance, but given you get the "It's not you. It's us. message when trying to join Plus. Good Luck with that.

    • It's gambling. Nothing wrong with that since we promote it on television for our kids to see.

  • +2

lol i got a AU $30.00 off your purchase instead…. oh well :)

    • I too had that BEFORE i signed up to plus

  • What is the code from the deal TPLUSPO intended for?

    • for those who were targeted? that's the code you use to claim your free AirPods

  • Anyone got the code yet?

    • The code is TPLUSPO apparently if succesful?

      • Anyone got the email is the correct question :P

        • Does this email supposedly just let you know if you’re eligible for redemption?

  • +1

why is everyone asking for the code when its literally in this deal post and t&c…

    arghhhhhhhh

    CODE: TPLUSPO

    • In that case, anyone got any email asking for redemption of the code yet?

      • +2

No email on actual redemption. I have the earpods in my cart and am at the checkout page where you put the code. Hoping at 2pm it accepts the code.

        • …..well…..it's past 2pm…..what was the outcome?

    • Skido2, What’s the code?

  • Are we supposed to search for the pods or is there a direct link to them?

  • Not received :(

  • LET THE GAMES BEGIN !

  • Created a new account and signed up to PLUS, got no offer. I have an old Ebay account which I haven't used PLUS before. Wondering if signing up to PLUS using that account will get me targeted.

  • Signed up for the trial having never done so before. We shall see!

    • …..well what hapend?

  • read the post before asking stupid questions. ffffff

  • I just signed up for an eBay Plus trial on an email address eBay has been emailing for a year trying to get me to sign up, sending $5 off vouchers, etc. Within 10 minutes I got a message saying "You've ended your eBay Plus Membership..". Obv I didn't do this, so I guess this was based on the fact I already have eBay Plus on my normal account or something (even though I used different address and phone no).

Oh and now 5 minutes later my new account is permanently suspended.

    • wait they suspend accounts :O?

      • yeah, but i thought they only suspended multiple ebay us/uk accounts. i've got 3 ebay australia accounts and they're all fine.
