          • @Arthur Dunger: Got them to combine as one order

  • Can't wait for my McFlurry tomorrow. And a large thickshake for Xbox launch day.

  • +2

I don't like how they say they 'expire tomorrow' when really they 'expire at midnight' tonight.

  • +1

App turned out to be Epic fail today. Couldn't order McFlurry via app. Cashier had to manually scan the code!!

    • Yep, was pandemonium inside maccas, kiosk also didnt work

      • worked for me via kiosk just then

  • Got my McFlurry 😀

    • Can't decide if I want to go out at 8:18pm just for my $1 McFlurry… the nearest Maccas is only a 15 minute walk round trip but I bet the McFlurry will be finished before I make it back :(

  • -4

Makes me sad that this deal is so highly upvoted. Even if way less that rrp, and even though I often eat it myself, its still a pox on humanity.

If we can have deals like this, and deals for alcohol, then I want my cheap cigarette deals damn it!

  • +2

Anybody else not bothering because the codes are not infinite use?
I mean, I am not sure if I want to bother just to get 1 Big Mac tomorrow…

    • +2

      Hand over your Ozbargain badge.

      • I meant it as a joke, officer! I didn't mean it!!!
        Just a joke! Haha… ha…

I will get the fries though, can't go wrong for 1 dollar.

    • Scan and refresh a new code at multiple kiosks before finalising

      • Yeah I got it figured it out, depending on available kiosk I now come back home with 3-4 meals.
        Score!

  • +4

Revoking vote as the app is worthless so I'm unable to access the deal.

  • +4

Had a lot of trouble using the app and also the kiosk using the code.

Claimed one Oreo McFlurry and one M&M's Minis McFlurry from two different outlets. Both were far from creamy but were very watery.

    mostunpleasant/10

    • how bizarre i also had a very sub par 'coffee frappe' which was way too watery.. silver lining they put a whole heap of chocolate sunday topping on the whipped cream heehee

  • +1

I placed the app orders before I left home, drove to the drive thru but it was still stuck on the "head to the restaurant" screen. They didn't have my order so they just put it through manually, guess I was one of the lucky ones to still get it

  • +1

do deals start at 12 midnight of each day?

  • How do I get 5 $2 big mac?
    Is it one per person?

    • You can't.
      Yes.

    • +1

no they doing 1 big mac for $2

    • +1

Actually you can, just process code once on kiosk. Don't pay with card but pay with cash. The code won't automatically process until you pay for it. Go back and enter your code at kiosk again, exit code of course and click on for new code. Rinse and repeat.

  • +2

Does anyone have the store QR codes for these deals?

It's silly going for just 1

  • -1

If you want to feed your family these deals are pretty much useless.
One $2 big mac big is not a much of a percentage discount off your order.
    Very cunning marketing as usual.

Notice the 20% of the total order that they've offered in the past is nowhere to be seen this time around.

    • +1

      Feed your family

Maccas doing you a favour then haha

  • +1

Have Big Macs always been so small and tasted so disappointing?
    What a waste of $2.

    • +2

      Imagine paying full price

  • The large thickshake on Rewards is regularly $1.00. 30 Day Deals and it's $1.50 .. Gee thanks .. :-( .. !!

  • just came across this deal today, today is big mac day, is there a limit per order? Can I get 5 big macs for $10?

Edit: Just read its 1 per account

  • -1

The limit of 1 is of putting. No point for a $2 Big Mac when the app has BOGOF very often.

    • +2

Explain the logic in that comment pls??

  • What time do the deals expire each day?

For example the $2 big mac expires tomorrow but will the $1 fries be active at the same time the next day or will the previous deal cancel out. Wouldn't mind having the big mac and fries on the same day

    • +2

Yes, restarts at midnight. Got the $2 Big Mac just before midnight and ordered the $1 fries few min later. Separate orders tho.

  • I'm 3 from 3

  • -1

Hmm cheap and nasty processed food….

Even I'm not taking kids there it's not healthy

  • +6

im getting really sick of this. the app is beyond hopeless. uninstalled, reinstalled, logged out, logged back in, doesnt matter, it simply wont allow me to place an order. Really not acceptable for the largest food company in the world

    • same experience here.
at the start of the month, logout/reinstall worked to put in one order, now even that's not working,
have to scan QR at counter 🙄

      • I've found clearing app data and cache works. except thats a massive pain in the arse to do every order then you gotta re login again, reset permissions.. pretty hopeless

  • Sorry ice cream machine broke

  • Had a chicken burger today.

$2 could be overpriced. Dry, small, cardboard like.

    • +3

Confirmed. The same. I had two, just to make sure. They were both the same.
Tomorrow I'm gonna be judging them on 2 cheese burgers with small fries and drink.

      • Sounds like you are going to be judging them every day in Nov haha.

        • And today I'm scrutineering on 18 nuggets and two large fries and 3 sauces

  • +3

i'm noticing that the android version of the app can't seem to put any orders through since this promo has started. checkout just hangs and doesn't give you an order code. have to logout and log back in to get it back to normal then order at the counter with the code.

ios version has its own problems. nearly every restaurant i point the order to is apparently closed although i can still proceed with the transaction.

    • +2

I've got the same issue. Normally I just clear data, sign back in and everything works again until next time.

    • Clear cache or reinstall.

    • +2

Glad I'm not the only one, same here keeps hanging and requires re-login every time, but code works on second try…

  • Note that today's deal is actually a cheeseburger meal with extra cheeseburger — the chips can be substituted for a garden salad.

  • +1

Had a glitch in my app and couldn't claim the $1 fries. But they still charged my card! How to ask for refund? Just lodge credit card chargeback?

    • the pending charge will disappear after a few days, always happens to me. one time it did process somehow and I emailed Maccas support and they refunded my card after some verification.

  • got the small cheeseburger meal with extra cheesy for $4, good deal

  • Todays means to be 2 quarter pounder meals for $8. But the offer for 18x nuggets and 2x large fries for $7 has shown up in my app.

    • Yeah ive got the same, wtf?

    • Well clearly today is the nuggets and fries deal. OP had it wrong.

      • It's now been updated.

        • Now if’s back to two small quarter pounder meals…. wtf

  • +1

Yeh I'm getting two qrtr pounder meals for $8

  • Finally a good 1 I'll make an effort :)

  • +3

Really over the app! What don't they understand about using a mobile app for ordering? I use the HJ's app a bit and never a problem, just gotta say "the apps are better at Hungry Jacks" and the Chicago Burger I had last night was pretty good too 😊

  • +2

    App is trash

    • +1

normally i dont have problems, but today when i needed it to check offers it's stuck on Yella M screen. CBF reinstalling rn, gonna grab some kfc

  • +2

Conveniently the week this started my app won't let me check out. It says "we've got your order, head to the restaurant" forever. Never lets me check-in.
I can force close then use the kiosk to claim my code, but it's inconvenient.
I then need to uninstall/reinstall to actually be able to add anything to my cart but it just does the above again.

You would think a company with millions in cash to splash around that they would invest some actual time in developing a functional app. It's always been trash.

    • Have the same problem.. Told mcdonalds about it a few months ago when it started for me and they said they have heard about some people having these app issues but no idea when it will be fixed.

      • As a developer I find it ridiculous that these things are allowed to go on for so long. It's not some small glitch where someone cannot select an obscure item - it's core functionality.

I've also had some other glitch where whenever I go into an item, I get an error saying "The option of sliced tomato is not available" regardless of whether the burger I am looking at has tomato on it! It didn't affect me ordering, but now aforementioned error has kicked in and I can't order at all.

  • +3

Wow the double cheeseburger is pretty ordinary. I wouldn't buy it again even for $1.
I feel like I got ripped off and as an Ozbargainer that's the worst thing that can happen.

    • +1

burgers are better and hungryjacks, including cb's

  • Just head up, due to QR code glitches around nationwide, you can have unlimited item on what day they offer.

Today I went to Northland / VIC and got a free burger (double cheeseburger) via drive thru. Again, I tried to re-use the QR code again at another Macca in Preston, 2nd free burger.

2 burgers is enough for me a day.

    • Sorry I don't understand. If you reuse the QR code, the deal for today is a $2 double cheeseburger. Doesn't that mean you can reuse, but need to pay $2 each time?

      • -1

I assume they mean that if the app doesn't work the employee says to go through without paying.

Usually they can't find my app orders, they say go through, I get home and cancel the order before they find it.

    • -1

It wasn't free today. None of the deals are free.

      • I was told by Maccas staff there was a QR glitch nationwide.

But today (11/11), they may have rectified the issue.

  • I just saw a TV ad during State of Origin saying tomorrow's deal is actually a $1 Cheeseburger, not the originally advertised $2 Cheeseburger + Frozen Coke.

    • Correct but a frozen coke is only $1 if you did want to add one and get the original deal.

  • Are they actually bringing the mcbites back? Can't find it on the app, seems to have been replaced by the chicken mcpieces or is this location based?

  • Anyone else miss out on a pickle on their Cheeseburger today?

    • +2

nah but 9 times out of 10 I miss out on the fkn sauces/shaker salt i pay for

  • 1am AEDT and still no signs of the double mcchicken meal offer, still got the $1 cheeseburger showing. any clue when this thing gets updated? i'm staving

    • 4am and no current deals showing. double mcchicken meal offer supposedly available after 10:30am only. i'm now starving until 10:30am

      • +1

I just spoke to a staffer who put it through manually - he acknowledged that the deal is supposed to refresh at midnight and apologised

  • is the mcchicken burger any good? compared to the quarter pounder (size of patty)

    • nope not as good

      • +1

Not the best! but affordable 2 meals for $8.00 instead of $19.45.

So I have never try "Donut Balls". Any good?

        • -1

They're no good. They're tiny; about the circumference of a 10 cent coin. $1 should be full price. And not coated very well. Highly disappointing.

  • I have the strangest problem with my Maccas app on my Sony. Recently it started having issues where I need to clear all data and cache after placing an order and completing that order. Before I am able to use it to place another order. Otherwise it goes through the steps for the other order and then just at payment or checkin it falters. I mean even if the second order is place a few weeks later. This issue has been happening for a few months now. On my Apple it still works fine. I am wondering if it's actually phone hardware or software conflict. My phone occasionally has issues with its GPS on maps as well. But that comes and goes and usually a restart fixes it. A restart doesn't fix the Maccas app issue. Only fix is clearing all data and logging back in etc.

    • Same for my wife and I (Pixel 3 and Sony Xperia X Performance, respectively).

I cleared my data and logged back in shortly after an order so the next time I went to order it would be ready, only to find the same error when I tried to order the next day.
I was both surprised and annoyed, but it worked fine after clearing data again. \o/尸

    • +1

Same. Have to clear app data and re-enable permissions before each order or it crashes on the "We have your order - go to the restaurant now" screen.

      • This is my life. Clearing data and such has no effect. Just a continuous loop of telling me they have their order… they do not :(.

  • +2

Some of these offers are pretty average (that is what they should cost everyday) and some of them are dominated by other deals.

Nov16: 10 McBites and Sml Fries - $2 - this should be the regular price, at best. McBites are very small, and mostly breadcrumb, not chicken. Plus a small fries is small.

Nov19: 2 Hash Browns - $2 - this should be the regular price.

Nov24: Big Mac - $3 - this should be regular price, at best. This is more expensive than the $2 Big Mac from Nov3.

Nov28: 2 Sml Quarter Pounder Meals - $9 - This is more than the previous 2 Small Quarter Pounder / Big Mac Meals for $8.

Large Thickshake is still alright at $1.50, but could have been $1.

    • Same reasoning with Apple pricing, if hordes of people are already willing to pay at the original prices which you think is not good value then why would the company be willing to lower it further?

    • that's why i only buy maccas or other fast food when there's a good deal. in the maccas app, specifically, not all offers are good ones; like you mentioned the large thickshake, which is frequently $1 in the app but sometimes fluctuates to see if they can reel in a sucker. fine if you're desperate for a large thickshake and 50c difference isn't a big deal to you, but you can bet there are people out there who don't watch the offers section closely.

can't understand how some can spend $30+ on fast food. i love fast food but i don't love it that much.

  • +1

seems like they can't make a shake whenever they are the deal for the day. The machine breaks that day. Happened on the 11th, happened for the second time today.

  • spewin…missed out on one of the best deals $2 Mac Chicken

  • I wonder if they do this in Nov as they've noticed people lower their junk food intake leading into summer to get themselves "beach ready" ?

    Hmm

    • is this whole "beach-ready bodies" even a thing, or were they just sold on that idea by marketing agencies trying to flog diet products?

the people i knew who were serious about going to the gym do it all year, not just for summer.

  • Despite scanning my code at the first window for payment, as the app keeps freezing if trying to check out and get the app order code, I was told $1.50 (yesterday's thick shake deal) when they scanned it and I swiped my card, to note afterwards, I'd been charged the full $6.
Called the store and was told that I wasn't the only one this had happened to that day. The lad I spoke to said he'd had it happen with others whilst he was serving, a few times before me, they took all my contact details and I was told I have a $4.50 credit at the store.

    • I have tried to place my order through the app. A long time ago.

      Then I got smart.

I go to the store, connect to wifi, open the app and press scan, and then I go to an instore kiosk and enter the code on screen (I cannot even be bothered trying to scan the QR code). And then I check out as normal on the kiosk. Completely avoid the app. Only use it to a get a code.

You shouldn't have a got a credit. They should have corrected the amount. And what happens to anyone that doesn't notice? They just get ripped off?
