Xiaomi POCO X3 NFC 6GB/64GB Dual Sim is also A$332.71 with the CART3 code.
If you can wait till the 11th, AliExpress will have the 64GB for A$282.85

I got the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T 128GB from this website earlier in the year during COVID, arrived in about 2.5 weeks, recommended it to a friend who got it within 2 weeks. The Google Pay works fine in AU, battery has been good, the Poco seems to be +25% than my Redmi on top.
They have PayPal so should be a guarantee of receiving the product, I wouldn't bet on any warranty support though.

Mine came with overseas charger and Australian adapter which worked fine, but ended up buying a local charger for it,
the Poco X3 is 33W so might cost more for an AU charger. The in-box brick did work fine, I just saw the $10 ones in the Kmart thread.

I don't like the MIUI home, but I always use Nova Launcher anyway,
the MIUI settings and theme management are good, I did have the Redmi Note 4X before as well.

Just wait 10 days, ~$285 including GST. TD doesn't include GST so slight chance of customs adding it. And of course assume no warranty with TD.

Well, that deal is for the 64gb version, not the 128 version in this deal - but yeah, waiting for singles day to buy this is a generally good idea.
FYI, the same seller will be offering the 128 version on singles day at a discount if you want the extra memory.

Ordered this last month and didn`t get charged GST.
Just under 4 weeks for delivery.

      • @Bargin boy
        Was this via Ali express?

    • What! From my experience AliExpress charge10% GST at check out long time ago.

    • +3

been using my xiaomi mi 9t for a year seeing not a single ads.

u think android not stealing your privacy for Google or the US gov?

      • -8

        Difference is morals

        • +4

Yeah sure, the US goes to " free" a country, because that country happened to have oil.

While China is doing it openly, the western countries are slowly sneaking laws in, that undermine your freedom.

You only have a choice of which devil suits you better.

          • -3

@bargainparker: But do the Uighurs have a choice?

            • +3

@Almost Banned: But did the Middle-Easterns have a choice at Guantanamo Bay?

            • -1

@Almost Banned: Everyone has a choice, but if humans choose to keep drinking beer and watch footy, then you might as well say, they don't have a choice because they chose to look the other way. If you want a better world, then you can't expect someone else will do it for you, and you can't keep being ignorant as that will not save you. If instead of seeing just themselves, humans started thinking that the whole world is actually theirs to take care of, things would change.

Choice… this is not the place for a debate as it would take a lot of time and one which I find wasted, as the world will not change regardless of what is said here. But as for choice as you so nicely put it there, let me ask you a question. Did you support Australian troops being sent to Iraq and Afghanistan. If you did, fine. But, if you didn't, could you, providing you worked and paid tax say to the government, well I don't want portion of my tax to go for that as I don't support that, you just want that oil that is there?

You know, shit will hit the fan, and what most humans don't understand is that when it happens, shit will fly everywhere, from that beggar on the street to Jeff Bezos. No one will be safe.

For now, enjoy your false sense of freedom and security.

          • @bargainparker: As Australians, I would hope the majority would align alongside the US than with communist China.

            • @jackinyourbox: As Australians, I would hope no alignment with either. Of course that is not possible as Australia on its own couldn't defend itself against China.

It is all a big game in which you are just a very small cog.

              • @bargainparker: This discussion stemmed from choosing between the US or China. You can’t choose neither.

                • +1

@jackinyourbox: Well, you can, but that's another story.

                  • @bargainparker: All you’ve written then is fluff. Filler material. You are unable to made a direct decision between the two

                    • +1

@jackinyourbox: Keep fluffing, won't get you anywhere.

I am, but there is more to it, a lot more and I don't want to start a debate as it would be pointless. As I said, the world will not change, regardless of whatever is said here, so I will stop commenting, regardless of what you might think. As far as I am concerned you can even think you won with your arguments. I simply don't want to continue as this is not the place to talk about it. There's a forum for that.

                      • @bargainparker: Yeah, something, something, cannot answer a direct question because of complexities

                        • +1

@jackinyourbox: This has been talked about for ages and in depth. What do you want to achieve? If most people choose to not engage with reality, but make their own reality and keep being ignorant, then what do you think you can change?

I'll give you two examples which concern every Australian, regardless of whether they pay or not tax.
                          1. Every government was and is paying for changing names of government departments. That is your money flushed down the toilet as it has no real purpose. Them doing it makes no difference to anything, but costs a lot. And it is all freely available to see.
If i was you I would be outraged and demand they stop doing it. I can think of a bazillion ways where that money could be put to a good use. Instead they stole your money, legally might I say, and you just sit there like a good sheep.

                          1. When the end of the financial year is close every government department that hasn't gone over the budget, has to throw perfectly fine stuff, and buy stuff, so they would reach that budget target, otherwise in the next financial year, they will get less budget. Now, again, that is your money flushed down the toilet.

Look at what private companies/corporations do, and yet no one bats an eye.

Humans don't care as long as they have their beer in the fridge, footy on telly, barbie on weekends and Balis to go to.

What most people don't realize is, you can keep taking it. But, you can't keep taking it forever.

If you want to change things, you have to change human nature. Good luck with that.

PS. If you want to discuss things of this nature, I told you wrong place. You need to go to forums or elsewhere and debate to your heart's desire.

                          • @bargainparker: Yeah. Question dodging mentality. “You can never be wrong if you don’t directly answer, then throw in other issues”. There’s nothing to achieve here.

    • Two words:
      custom
      ROM

      • A custom rom cannot bypass backdoors built into hardware itself via memory addressing

as soon as i saw bunch of hidden downvote comments i knew it was CCP related.

    • +1

As soon as you see 'jackinyourbox' I mean 'jackinhisbox' you can safely guess he's trolling or saying bad things about China. He's been trolling on almost every Xiaomi deal lately.

      • -7

You are the troll and a cheap shot too.

I was alerting people to the fact that Xiaomi is a Chinese company. Anything you put on their phones can be accessed by them. There is no privacy policies/laws in place to protect you because they are overruled by the CCP.

You are selling out yourself and your contacts for a “cheap” phone.

        • +1

Remember, Motorola is owned by Lenovo now which is a Chinese company so better not get a Motorola too then going by your logic.

  • +1

I'm assuming this kills the Oppo A72 ? Less the fact it doesn't have band 28

    • +1

Other than B21, slightly better in nearly all specs

      • +1

Plus unlocked unlike the $249 sale from AU Post

    • +1

How this compares to oppo a9?
Edit: This looks much better :)

  • +2

I'm still rocking an OG Poco F1 and am impressed that it got the MIUI update recently and still feels snappy.

    • I got the MIUI 12 Android 10 update at the same time, I like it. I think the battery is also a little better since the update as well.

  • +1

Ordered this an paid for express post, they sent me an email 2hrs later saying it was being packed and they will send out tracking tomorrow. We'll see.

    • +1

Also ordered with normal post and got the same email..
So perhaps it's a generic response..

I had actually ordered from Banggood on the 25th as it said "in stock" "Ships in 24 hours"
6 Days later it was still processing.. So I requested a refund and they did without question

      • +1

Will be interesting to see if my $30 postage makes it arrive sooner, I’ll report back here when it arrives.

        • Update on mine :)

"Please be informed that your parcel has been picked up by courier and left our warehouse.

However, please note that courier could not provide us the tracking number yet at the moment until they have your parcel to be process at their facility or hub."

          • @Megahowler: So I have the exact same email. I’ll be seriously pissed if the $30 of extra postage is a total scam.

            • @[Deactivated]: any updates? wanting to know if I should order it.

              • @Rabz126: There's a better deal from Amazon via Amazon UK on here. And yes, it seems like a great phone. Order it.

                • @[Deactivated]: the Amazon UK deal went back up to $420, while this deal is at $350 currently.

  • +3

Personally I would pay the approx 10% extra to get it from Kogan ($409) so if things go wrong at least ACCC can steps in. Bad customer service & warranty > no customer service & warranty.

    • If things go wrong you can just chargeback

  • +1

    Thanks, just did a purchase.

    Who does delivery? Auspost?

    • +1

      I think it was DHL

    • +1

Just received email with DPEX with courier. That’s quick for standard shipping!

      • Received mine yesterday - around 2pm. Toll guy didnt ask for a signature , just dumped on my front door. wrote ATL for the POD. anyway - all good, bubble wrapped and with power adapter.

  • +2

Ordered on the 1st November.. Delivered on the 9th November with standard free shipping (DPEX)..
Super happy with both the phone and buying experience from Tobys :)

  • +1

    350 now

    • $6.60 cheaper and instead of the cart3 code, good price for 128GB model.

  • +1

    346 now

  • Will this phone work with Kogan mobile (Vodafone)?
