    Cool. Do you have refurbished 3080s? lol

  • Are these any good as gaming comps?

    • +4

      Almost all have decent CPUs , but you'll need to add a graphics card for any decent performance.

      And that's a whole other thing, because they don't fit in the included cases.

      • +4

        I was under the impression that LP cards fit in these?

      • 1650 Low profile fits

      • +1

        Or take the case off. I rarely have sides on my PCs. I keep tweaking stuff.

        • so what better graphics card can you put in after taking the side cases chasis off? Any more powerful card than the 1650 will require an external power from motherboard which won't work for these PCs

      • -1

        And that's a whole other thing, because they don't fit in the included cases.

        Mine fits and works fine…

        Doesn't overheat either.

      I installed at 1650 about a month ago and it works great.

      • yeh but its running at a 10% performance decrease because its using PCIE x4 instead of x16

        • +3

          yeh but its running at a 10% performance decrease

          Big deal… Show me a better PC you can get for around $400.

          • +1

            @jv: HP G1 SFF has x16 slot free. That's what I have

            • +1

              @Homr: I got a Dell Optiplex 9020 SFF (i7-4770 QC 3.4Ghz 16GB Ram 128Gb SSD) a while back for about $300.
              The 1650 at 90% performance is pretty good for Minesweeper.

              May look at HP G1 SFF if I make it to the World Championships…

          • @jv: $520 - Got a second hand Z220 with 32gig for $220 from the auctions and put a brand new 1060 6gig in it for $300. Got a little lucky tho, dont think people realized how nice the z220's where at first as the now go for 300-400+ at the same auctions (they appear regularly lately). Plays games great now I put a good ssd in it.

        • If you really want x16, get the previous model Optiplex 9010.

          The biggest difference between the two is the better integrated graphics in the 9020, but you will not care about that if adding a PCXIe.

          • @bargaino: the 9010 is 3rd Gen intel, 9020 is 4th Gen

            • @Homr: yes, duh. And as I said, the biggest difference in that is the integrated graphics. But I just use a 9020 with x4 slot.

              • @bargaino: and I don't find any more value getting these old PCs now. They were still relevant 2 years but there should be a new "fleet"of refurbished PC's available soon.

                • @Homr: Agreed, but you seemed concerned about the x4, so thought I'd mention it.

                  • @bargaino: I was concerned. Thats why I traded it for the HP G1 SFF which I have now currently.

                    I was not going to put up with 10% loss of performance

        • it's like 4 - 6 fps which isn't a big deal for people who buy these things.

      • @jv, Do you mind sharing the price you paid for 1650, which one you bought ?

        • +1

          I got the MSI one for around $230.

          It works great and is quite, but keep in mind that in only has HDMI and DVI.

          If you are going to use a G-Sync compatible monitor, you should probably go for the Gigabyte model as it also had Displayport. Not sure if it's as quite as the MSI though…

    Not a great deal. Reboot-IT sell a 16gb ram i5 4570S 2.90GHz for $265 or an i5 4690 3.5GHz 16GB 256GB. Both are dell optiplex. Add $20 for shipping and it's similar to this. I'd rather the i5 4690 3.5GHz 16GB 256GB than this

    • With Windows Pro?

      • no , windows 7 which can be upgraded to windows 10. Pro doesn't make a difference for the large majority

        • Windows 7 to Win 10 upgrade is now free anyway

          • @ujwols: Not to Window 10 Pro

            • +1

              @boomramada: so what?
              windows 10 pro is unnecessary

                  @jv: …In which case you really wouldn't be buying this

      • You can buy Windows 10 pro for $6 aud off ebay
