Not bad, unsurprising given the big Navi release coming.
    Still a great card

    • Gonna be even better when its still the best AMD card anyone can get until 2021 when stock goes sold out in 2 mins :P

      • Don’t even… I’ve got my hopes up :(

        • Stock may not be as big as an issue since you wont be competiing with those who are good with thier orders of 30 series cards out of the running now.

But if the price is just unreasonable as we have seen, not MSRP anywhere in Oz, and you cave in, you've have to hand in your OzB badge mate.

          • @dbmitch: I’m hoping either UMart will come through or amazon US (via AU).
Amazon’s been pretty good for the Ryzen chips

  • Price(+ delivery) in the title please. You can also add UMART (at the last) in title

Where’s the 2070 super deals… or they sold out the remaining stocks? Want to get it under $500

    • Not sure that is going to happen, have been waiting a while too….

    • +1

The closest one was during eBay flash sale where they did $589 and a free 480g gigabyte ssd which is rrp at $69-89

      • +14

But gigabyte didn’t honour the promotion and everyone who bought on eBay flash sales did not get the free ssd. Very disappointed on Gigabyte.

Note to self, don't buy Gigabyte for the next year or 2. Dirty buggers.

        • Seems like this isn't uncommon with rebate style promotions.

      • I actually purchased a 2070 super for $510 during that sale! But yes prices are still a bit to steep id say.

    • Nvidia stopped productions of the 2080 and 2070 back in July so I suspect that there's not much remaining stock left.

    • +1

is there particular reason why you prefer the 2070 Super and not this? aren't they pretty much on par?

mwave have the sapphire pulse for $519+delivery

    • a much better deal for +$20

      • Just for my learning .. .why is the Sapphire Pulse better ?

        Both have PCI-E 4.0 / 3 x DP / 1 HDMI 2.0b

                RRP Base Boost

        Sapphire 519 1,670 1,925
        ASRock 499 1,690 1,945
        Variance +4.0% -1.2% -1.0%

The its 4% more expensive and roughly -1.1% slower ?

Can someone please teach me what I am missing out here ?

        • +1

I can't speak for mochariffic, but I would have to presume the value in the Sapphire is down to their excellent reputation with a history of high quality AMD cards.

ASRock are a much newer brand (at least in the west) and seem to aim for the lower end of the market. They do not have such a reputation.

The Sapphire is also well reviewed where as there is little to no professional coverage of the ASRock out there.

Good height card too if that's a consideration. Very handy if you say built a pc into you desk draw.

499 with free delivery and i might bite

    • +3

Let's be honest, you'd then say 479 and I might bite.

      • -1

        TRUE lmao

  • +4

I'd wait for a RTX 3060 to be honest

    • Same. Hoping prices will be reasonable.

    • Anyone have any ideas about 3060 pricing or potential release? Like everyone, I don't want to wait forever, so am considering this …

Do we think Black Friday might have better 5700xt deals?

      • Wait for Big navi imo
They will likely be much better price/performance and even if you still want to go for the 5700xt, you will likely get better deals for them (and much better second prices on 2nd hand ones)

        • 6800 will be close to $1k effectively double the price of this card (for about 35-40% extra performance). Will be waiting a while for 3060 or a lower end Big Navi I reckon.

          • @Yuri Lowell: This is what I'm concerned about. And I guess if the 3060 and lower end navi is around $700, then this would probably still be a reasonable proposition.

@Pyrock Second hand cards tend to hold value pretty well still, but you're right.

            • @somethingguy: while second hand cards do usually hold value, there is sometimes a scramble to sell them for a bit less after every next generation releases as there are plenty who will buy every new generation when it comes and sell off the last gen.

@Yuri 3060 equivalents was more what i was getting at - i would guess that amd would release a stack at the lower end (where they have been typically dominating recently) that should be better price/performance than the 6800/3070 and up cards

          • @Yuri Lowell: you are being generous with 1k

      • i think the sweet spot this black friday will be 5700xt or 2070 supers for ~$500

Currently the 2060 super and 5600xt is mid to high $400, so i think the higher cards are better value.

I dont see the 3060 being priced anywhere near $500. Id guess at least $650 to 700 when it finally does release. But considering a 3070 is currenly 1k now, yeah it might be next years black friday for good 3060 deals.

For 1440 gaming, id personally be happy with a 2060 super as its only ~10fps slower than a 5700xt, but the price will have to be under $400 for me to consider it

    • Does anyone know the performance ballpark of RTX 3060 - is it close to RTX 2070 Super?

      • Oof. Didn't know the issue was widespread

        • -2

          lol like covid

    • it was answered above.

But gigabyte didn’t honour the promotion and everyone who bought on eBay flash sales did not get the free ssd. Very disappointed on Gigabyte.

  • +1

    whoa thats effin cheap

  • I still have to finish AC2 Brotherhood, AC2 Revelations, AC3, AC4 Black flag, AC Unity… plus Yakuza 0, Nino Kuni 1 & 2 playing with old GTX 760 (it runs fine for these games at 1080p)
That would take me about 6-9 months and then mid-next year will grab 3080 at reasonable price for a new build.

    • +23

Ok thanks for letting us know

      • +3

        Comment of the year.

    • Yep, I’m in same boat. Have about 150 games on backlog and my 5700 XT will do them just fine… until a banger OzBargain deal tickles me next year… sigh

  • What price will 5700xt and the 2070s get to on black friday?

    • Do we know there will be black friday sales, isn't this the big AU sale?

      • +1

        It is not.

      • +1

past 2 years, black friday had the best deals by quite a wide margin on these tech stuff. bf was shit before that, and it could go back to being shit this year again, who knows.

  • +2

I don't know whether to wait for the next wave of 3070's to be in stock or the Radeon 6800 series to released or just to buy a previous gen card now, god someone help me!

    • +3

What is the urge for you? I'd wait another 3-5 months untill everything is settled

      • +1

I wanted to do some gaming in the extra free time that we have on our hands during these COVID-19 pandemic days…

  • Shopping Express is selling Galax 2060 Super @ $479 + shipping. That could be a better deal considering the similar performance of the 2 cards plus DLSS 2.0 on Nvidia's side.
    What do you think?

    • +4

I dont know how good this specific card is as you need to check our reviews for some of the 5700XT cards to make sure there were no cooler problems, however in general the 5700XT is more of a 2070 Super competitor and not a 2060S, it has the 2060S beat in most titles. DLSS is definitely a plus but yeh the 5700XT handles 1440p without any issues so it's kind of a moot point in my opinion.

      • You're right, I just saw some proper benchmarks. didn't realise the 5700xt was about 10% faster than 2060S

  • +13

Just bought a ps5 otherwise would jump on this.

Just wanted to brag. THat is all

    • +1

Hope you have fun with it dude!

    • Got my shipping notification for Friday….. c'mon Amazon…

  • +1

This asrock one doesnt have a very high rating on newegg

    • I saw some benchmarks on Youtube, wasn't able to find the link but this sat in the middle of the pack for just about everything. Plus if its any consolation it comes with three years warranty.

  • Lack of reviews for this card. Seems to have been a bit of a latecomer

  • Is BlackFriday predicted to have a cheaper price for this graphics card? I might pick it up now if not.

  • 80 degree on full load scares me a bit …..

    • These cards can take 105C surprisingly. But my TUF EVO 5700XT barely goes above 70C.

  • Just after I bought the 5600xt last week.
Does it come with AMD rewards?

    • I bought the 5600XT for $390 during the eBay PlusFlash sale. I reckon it was worth it, given I paired it with a R3 3100.

  • Shall I settle on this one or grab that $169 RX570 and wait for 3070 price drop…..still thinking

    • +1

if you are going to sell it, then get the cheaper card,

    • +1

What monitor do you have? If it's a basic 1080p 60hz one then you'd probably not even notice the difference tbh. The RX570 is 50% of the performance for only 33% of the price so it'll probably hold you over well.

Would be worth waiting for something genuinely next-gen rather than this imo.

      • Currently running on a 1440p 144hz monitor….but no heavy gaming.

        okay RX570 it is. ta

  • +1

Same as OP, waiting on the 3000/6000 cards supply to get stable and maybe even drop in price a bit. So I got a Gigabyte 1660super as the fill-in card for now.
