    This SN550 1TB or the $135 A2000 1TB in the previous post?

    • +1

Both great value, can't go wrong with either!

A2000 might be marginally quicker in most tasks, but I went with the SN550 because of the A2000 stability issues (which are pretty much fixed by now).

Neither are much of a deal after you've paid shipping.

      • Thanks. Might wait for Black Friday.

      • Looks to have free shipping

    Seagate Gaming Combo: Barracuda 510 500GB NVMe M.2 SSD + 2TB Hard Drive - $169 + Free Shipping + $40 Redeemable Steam Gift Card….. nice…

    • is this super good value you think?

FYI, the Aorus Elite AX at 10pm is the older version. The newer one called "V2" has added a front panel USB C connector (I believe that's the only difference), so if you don't need that it's an excellent deal IMO.

Do you know if that RAM next to it will work with the MOBO. The QVL doesnt list it but lists the X570 version of that MOBO

      • Fairly sure G.Skill RAM has some of the best ryzen compatibility. Honestly couldn't tell you with confidence though the exact answer to that question. Hopefully someone else can chip in.

        • Would you go X570 or B550 regardless of price?

          • @clot10: Well if it was regardless of price, obviously X570 because everything is PCI-E Gen 4. The build I am currently sourcing parts for is going to be B550 though.

    • Def worth it over x570? I had my eye on the tomahawk but saw tonight elite x570 too. I generally dont overclock.

  • Anyone know if that 32gb ram kit is single or dual rank?

    • you cant get 16GB single rank sticks AFAIK, so 16gb sticks are always dual rank.

      • You can have 16GB single rank sticks.

The binning of the popular Crucial Ballistix 3600C16 2x16GB kits is worse now

Some are single rank Micron-B die now. How do I know? Because I have them :(

I bought these https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/578900 and it says BL16G36C16U4R.M8FB1 on the sticker.

Apparently for the dual rank Micron E-die ones, you want it BL16G36C16U4R.M16FE1

        • Hmm that must be a relatively new phenomenon and very unlucky for you, since up until a few months ago single rank 16GB was unheard of except in ECC server sticks. Good to know; I'll make sure I check from now on.

  • G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32GB for $269, cheaper getting the Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4, 3600MHz 32GB for $225
will the Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO size be an issue or should better look at something smaller for ITX motherboard in NZXT H1 ?

    • +1

The corsair are CL18 vs CL16 for the G.Skill. Won't make difference you are gaming and GPU limited anyway.

  • Is it better to get 2x Ripjaws 16GB vs Trident?

    • Only difference on the Trident is RGB lighting. So up to you if you want that or not.

  • Can anyone comment on the HP spectre? Was tossing up whether to get this or wait for next year's surface laptop 4

Thanks OP, just ordered the Seagate combo SSD/HHD.

  • I screwed up and ordered the GSkill RAM kit yesterday. Shoppingexpress doesn't have anyone manning the phones due to COVID, so I can't cancel other than through an email. Would I be safe to reorder the kit tonight and hope the other order gets cancelled? (it hasn't shipped or anything)

  • Not listed in the post, but this motherboard is also part of the 5PM sales:
MSI MAG B550M MORTAR WIFI- $219

Good price, since I don't want a Gigabyte board.

  • Cheers, got the WD Blue SSD
