16/11/20 - RESTOCKED

Hi again Ozbargainers,

Given the very odd weather experienced around the country hayfever meds which are usually slowing in sales at this time of year are still at fever pitch with many generic variants completely sold out at wholesaler level until 2021. Being the closet broden that I am, I've scooped up many of the "odds and sods" available from various pharmacy wholesalers to see me through until the new year.

I've had so many emails asking for a higher tablet count of this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/576188 so I thought I'd put together an unbeatable deal on:

  • 50x Trust Fexit Tablets (Generic Telfast)
  • 50x Chemists' Own Loratadine (Generic Claratyne)
  • 30x Chemists' Own C-Zine (Generic Zyrtec) (REPLACED WITH: 30x Pharmacy Action Cetrelief, Generic Zyrtec)

I don't want to turn into a jaded retail worker (I'm worried its too late since posting on Ozb) - but please, please understand Australia Post is really slow in some areas. Victoria and WA seem to have really slow delivery speed at the moment (exceeding 8-10 working days in around 1/4 of deliveries), lodging frivilous disputes and credit card chargebacks (billed to me @ $30 each plus the value of the claim will ultimately lead to my departure from Ozbargain as 3-4-5 chargebacks per deal posted actually mean I run red despite packing and sending hundreds of packs of meds). My pledge to Ozbargainers is that if your item is LOST I will replace it, if its 1-2-3-5-10 days LATE - then I really need your support in being patient. Express and trackable satchel post is available at a fee at checkout if required (rant over).

  • Honest question, I was told we need to start taking anti-histamine BEFORE the hayfever season starts for it to be effective. Is there any truth to that? I've been suffering this year and have changed from loratadine to cetrine and it did not help. Thinking of changing to hayfexo next. :(

    • I haven't heard that personally, but I have heard during the season you should take one every day whether you have symptoms or not.
Personally I just take them (Zyrtec) when I have symptoms, but different pollens affect people differently.

    • I believe that's true for certain products, in my case it was Rhinocort nasal spray that I tried a few years back. However, I think these over-the-counter antihistamine tablets are generally taken for (relatively) immediate relief. I personally prefer Telfast (Fexo…)

    • I haven't heard that as well. Loratadine never works for me. But Cetrizine and Fexofenadine work great.
But I also had experienced where one year Fexofenadine didn't work but Cetrizine did, and then another year Cetrizine didn't work and Fexofenadine worked.
This year, both tablets work for me.

      • Yea that's why I am thinking of switching as well, I am generally OK with lotaradine previous years but this year has been particularly bad for me.

      • +1

My go to is Telfast/Fexo but I also get that thing where at a couple of points during the season it seems to stop working and I have to switch for a week or two. Normally would go Zyrtec/Czine for this but foolish me forgot to restock, and I'm feeling it now!

Claratyne has never worked for me.

        • same here

    • ask a doctor, but…. i believe this applies to the steroid type anti-histamine like sprays not tablets
tablets i believe just work on the day

    • Someone I know who suffered from really bad hay fever (all the symptoms and couldn’t leave the house), said they ate a teaspoon a day of local honey (must be local for the pollen, & gradually reducing the dosage over the years) throughout the year and their symptoms improved during the season. 6 years later they are still hay fever free. I’m yet to try this myself.

You should see an Immunologist. I did and it's changed my life this allergy season. They aren't too expensive (around $200) and it only took 1 session.

  • If you have two different items in the car how can you apply the different discount codes?

    • +2

Unfortunately craptacular Shopify requires you to check out different items separately to use multiple codes, sorry its a known issue with the platform.

  • +4

Legend, was just thinking about you.

I have to take Generic Telfast everytime I do immunotherapy.

Thanks alot mate - please stick around.

    • Can you give an insight in to how much immunotherapy for hay fever costs? I have searched in the internet, but as yet have not been able to find anything.

Having troubles with your payment gateway? Just sits there at "Processing payment…" with a spinny circle…

    • Hmmm…sorry its a Commonwealth Bank gateway, I will check - you may have to consider using paypal.

      • I had that processing payment issue too. Didn't want to immediately try refreshing as I didn't want to be charged twice. Tried again now but seems to be sold out. Let me know if you re-stock.

This is an excellent deal! Thanks for posting

Op would you add Zaditen eye drops online?

    Hey Op,

What's the expiry for HAYFEXO and CENTRINE large packs? Thinking of ordering for next year as shipping to Vic is ridiculously long.

    Cheers.

    • I'm also interested in the expiry dates but realistically the drugs will still be effective past the dates printed on the pack right?

      • +4

        Hi - expiry details:

        FEXIT 180 - Exp 06/22
        LORATADINE - Exp 04/23
        CZINE - Exp 10/22

        • Awesome cheers! (I had already ordered but long expiry is good!)

        • -8

I'd suggest OP if 4 charge backs are going to get you in the red after 100's of parcels you need to change your business model .

          • +2

@popsiee: Ozbargain (volume) also allows me access to pricing and deals on core products which can be sold at higher prices on different channels. Without a few Ozb deals I’d never get a look in on some supplier promotions - believe it or not several supplier reps don’t even return my calls as they consider micro sized community pharmacies a waste of their time. Many want to catch big fish and not grow small fish to one day be big. I’ve mentioned it in a previous post that I’ll reflect on the year in June and see holistically how Ozb has altered for better or worse the overall business.

I'm just really sorry OP that people are doing chargebacks or complaining when delivery is slow. From what I can see (I've bought your c-zine pack before) - you're doing the absolute best you can to bring us a bargain. Big respect for repackaging to utilise Aus Post letter mail - when prices are this cheap, postage cost could easily end up as an additional 30-40% on top of the item cost but you've put your time and effort to get it as cheap as possible.

Don't be expecting postage miracles for this great price - it's for people who plan ahead. If people need these quickly, buy express post! Or pay RRP. Thanks for these deals, you've saved me a bunch!

    • +6

Couldn't agree more, if you need urgent heyfever relief go to your nearest chemist to grab pack, don't expect Amazon next day delivery.

    • Yeah that sounds awful. What happens when a chargeback is requested? Can you show that the package is still in post and decline it?

      • +4

No. Unfortunately the system provides that if the buyer opens a dispute after 7 days of the transaction and tracking cannot be provided, the dispute is awarded to the buyer by default.

I lost one this week (opened by an Ozbargainer) who actually admitted they provided the incorrect address at checkout. The item was "returned to sender" I re-sent the item at my cost to the buyers correct address - The good man then opened a dispute when the redispatched item didn't arrive within 2 days and it was awarded in his favour.

Its a cost of doing business online - BUT - the issue is, its so hard to offer Ozb type pricing when chargebacks become the norm and everyone is so quick to assert their rights as consumers. At full retail it's somewhat acceptable to "wear" this as the cost of doing business, but such costs really make it hard to offer Ozb deals (or sadly an additional margin may need to be built in future deals to cover these costs)

That's BS. Can we penalty box this guy?

          • @dust: I was actually thinking about posting a forum topic asking if a secret "black list" of Ozbargainers could be set up.

            • @jason101: Pretty sure this already exists to the mods. And if it gets too bad they get put in the penalty box permanently.

        • +1

That's harsh dude, I hate the $30 chargeback fee.
I used to send a lot of untracked large letters on ebay and chargebacks were killer. You lose the product, the money and have the pleasure of being charged $30 by the bank for being the victim of a theft.
At least with eBay they will most likely dispute through eBay before going to the bank, but the 15%+ fees are hard to swallow, but the extra sales and margin should cover it.

Just ordered some Fexo, tried using my card twice but it timed out both times so had to resort to Paypal.

          • @Kegsta: Thanks for letting me know - I've checked the gateway and some transactions are going through and several Ozbargainers have reported the gateway is timing out …frustrating.

  • +1

thanks mate, got some. Really appreciate your efforts.

  • Thanks OP. Bought 2 packs.

I take a Zyrtec 365 days of the year due to allergies and at this price, no brainer.

  • Thanks mate. I never had any allergies until about 2 weeks ago. Now I have to take antihistamines almost every other day… this will help.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered 140 tabs.

    • We're talking about antihistamines right?

  • +2

I've upvoted and read most of your posts for as long as I can remember, now turned into first time buyer. Much appreciated and thank you for all the work you do!

Can't agree more. Just wait. OP has stated he will replace lost packages. Support small Oz businesses and don't ruin it for the OzB community.

  • Thanks OP! Finally got in before the lot was sold out. :-)

  • Zytec seems to work much better than Telfast (last year). Buying large pack of CETRINE!

  • Thanks any Nasel Sprays?

  • Aww…just missed out. All sold out now.

  • Missed out. Will OP get more?

    • +3

Thanks everyone - I always slightly under list the volume available as I dont want to miscalculate and have clients miss out, once all orders are packed I will contact anyone who replies here and advise of additional stock.

      • I'm down for a call back….let me know if you have anymore stock :)

        • Please let me know if any left :)

      • Please let me know if you have more stock thanks

      • Thanks OP, please sign me up for that.

        • PM turned off on your account

      • Please let me know if you still have one, thanks.
I also missed out last time's.

I don't know why I getting negged offering basic business advice . Anyway 2 examples during the pandemic the slow overseas mail was causing PayPal to pay out parcels ( some in the $400 + range ) that were in transit . I copped it and lost around 1.5 % more which did not effect my profit margin much .
Second about 9 months ago a lot of standard mail went missing like 30% . I contacted Aust Post and they had no clue in the distribution where the problem was . Solution was to increase all mailings to track that obvious slowed sales . Hence another option was larger lots of items offered in each parcel which has been the winner .

      • would love to jump on this if you have any spares after fulfilling orders.

        • PM turned off on your account

  • My man, thankyou so much. You've saved our family some serious coin and I cannot thank you enough!

  • How long does the hayfever season usually last?
Very awkward moment here as I've just purchsed a 70pack Telfast… Wondering if I'll need more…
When do your 70pck Hayfexo expire?

    • Currently packing Hayfexo Exp: 03/23 (very fresh stock)
