12pc Gearwrench spanner set with flex heads in their limited edition black. Sizes are 8mm through to 19mm.

No price history on this in the black, but the standard silver 9901D set usually hover at a bit over $200 and once got down to ~$145.

Flex heads may have their cons but definitely have their advantages over 0 offset. If you don't want or have a need for the flex, then the 12pc non-flex are available for $75.54 (now $86.70).

The silver non-flex are usually all over the shop for pricing but sometimes get down to around the same price. If you don't care about the colour or needed the bigger sizes, maybe hold out for another deal on the 16pc.

  • Great find, was watching the silver set

If anyone needs these but don’t want the price/brand, aldi was selling something similar when I checked yesterday. Smaller range maybe only 7 wrenches.

  • Does anyone have any experience with how tight the flex head is? Would be handy but wouldn't want it flexing too easily when you're trying to get the head over a bolt in an awkward position.

    • It's reasonably tight, they don't flop around. They are fit for purpose.

I would get a set of Tekton Dual swivel heads for around $130 instead
Has torx adjustment to fix the swivel so they dont flop around. Also saves space as swivel heads are really a complement to your regular open/box end wrench set.

      • I don't see any torx adjustment on the one linked?

      • I was looking at these but a couple of reviews mentioned the head being a bit floppy. Where does it say it has a torx adjustment which tightens this? I'm not sure if the torx screw actually makes the head tighter or not. My other concern with this brand is a few reports of failed wrenches and there being good warranty in the US but couldn't find anything about warranty here.

Floppy heads issues are a user error. They come from the factory without being tightened.
I have them and they work fine with about 5-6nm of torque.

Warranty is 0 in Australia. Hence why I buy them from Amazon and not Tekton direct.
Amazon CS will just refund if there are issues.

@pegasusx: Thanks for the feedback! I might grab a set as it seems like most that have issues have them from the start.

Good deal although the 12 piece seems to show $86.70 now. Must be Amazons dynamic pricing.
"hold out for another deal on the 16pc" - that's what I am going to do.
That was a really sweet deal

up to 24mm too is handy too

    • ""hold out for another deal on the 16pc" - that's what I am going to do."

Im in the same boat but good luck. I doubt we'll be seeing anything like that again anytime soon.

  • non-flex head have increased in price too

  • Sorry for going off topic…

… but has anyone tried adjustable ratchet wrench and able to shed some experience with it?

    • Could you link what you’re referring to please? I’m curious now.

    • Generally I would use set of Knipex Pliers Wrench which has a large range and replaces a traditionally set.
Works almost like a ratchet. As when you let got a bit to tighten/loosen the nut it allows the head to slide to the next section.
      See here at 0:50

If you're thinking the Wera version 6004.
I've tired these but arent convinced as there isnt any feel /feedback when you grab the nut as it sets automatically.

        Thanks for sharing your insight.

I now think a good set of plier wrench is what I need to tackle various of stubborn bolts/screw-ons
