Does this come with google store?
Does it still get android updates?

Our most popular devices, including the HUAWEI P30 Series, are operating on Android 10 with support of the Google Play Store.

A few of our newer devices, such as the HUAWEI P40 Series, Mate 30 Pro and Mate Xs, run on EMUI 10 or EMUI 10.1 with support of HUAWEI AppGallery. Customers can still access thousands of apps via HUAWEI AppGallery, the app store of the future. If your query relates to one of these devices click here

Its a temptation! And this, coming from a dedicated iphone user.

You really don't sound that dedicated.

i mean he is still on an iPhone 3GS.

What is "Sim-Free Mobile Phone" ?

    •

I guess it means it doesn't come with a sim card.

    • +3 votes

i think it means unlocked, can use any SIM

  •

Does this phone have NFC? I've been seeing mixed responses everywhere.

How does this compare to oppo a52 and the poco x3

  •

Really would love to know the difference between UK version and AU Version? Is it simply the charging plug?

    • +2 votes

Warranty, probably have to go through Amazon but then again, Amazon AU clueless operator would say "oh this item came from Amazon UK, sorry can't help you with that"

@babiguling: oh well, it might come in handy for someone. Still 20% off

  • +1 vote

AU version on sale too. With other colours. https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B07RYXXVW4/

    •

As babiguling noted it's 128gb + 4gb ram. It'll be easier to claim warranty but it is a lower specced phone for more.

    •

That is the old 2019 version. The one posted is the new 2020 edition.

      •

Ok thanks for pointing that out

  •

this or Pixel4a? Just broke my P30 (regular not Pro) and I loved it. Will I notice a huge difference buying a P30 Lite?

    •

Where can you get the Pixel 4a for around this price?

      •

You can't. Just wondering if I should spend the extra to get the Pixel 4a. Sorry for the confusion!

    •

Pixel4a has much faster storage, will feel a lot snappier. Updating apps won't grind the phone to a halt

      •

I think both use UFS 2.1

GSMarena says otherwise, but they aren't always right

    No B28

    • +4 votes

Not a problem with Vodafone customers as they use B5 850MHz for 4G instead of 700MHz B28.

But on the negative side if you are a Vodafone customer you also have to use Vodafone's network.

      •

Yes you are right . I try to stick with the Telstra network or at least be able to choose when I need to.

Another decent looking phone that doesn't allow bootloader to be unlocked.. Stop doing that Huawei and Oppo.

    • +1 vote

With all the Google dramas I was expecting Huawei to open up bootloading as retaliation. I got that wrong.

  •

is this phone getting android 11 and 12?

    •

Too much to ask for Harmony :-)

  •

Looking for a mobile for our daughter pref under $300.

So this looks like a good deal.
The wife and I both have the P30 (Android V 10, EMUI 10.1.0, model ELE-L29)

What would the diff be between the Lite and ours? Same camera? Same size? etc
As this is one of the main considerations for her.
Was think about spending more and getting the Pixel 4a but even though much better cam
the lack of the wide angle is one key point that is a Neg.
And yes you do use the wide angle when you know you have it available!

  •

Does GST get added on top, or it GST included?

    •

Included in price advertised with Amazon

      •

        Thanks.

I thought maybe the UK store was different.

  •

    Just did the same comparison!
The original P30 yes has better optics for camera (Lecia) and is slightly smaller (go figure)
bit better here and there but comparing phone that is RRP $1200.
Pixel $500+ (wish it had wide angle then it might be worth the extra $200, battery poor though!)

She's coming from our old Samsung S5 so anything will be better, and for $280 it's a lot of mobile for a 13 year old!

    •

even the S5 cost more than $280 that time :D
just worry about the warranty, if needed
      I also have bought 1

Wouldn't the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro be a good fit ?
I'm also looking for one at at a good price.
      Any suggestions would be welcome.

      •

        Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro
Yes another good option. But we have to consider size & weight as well.
        Too much choice!

        • +1 vote

The size is a concern but for me the positive being it comes with NFC, B28, reasonable Camera, a tray for 2 x Sims & 1 SD Card and a large Battery.

    • -2 votes

I bought poco x3 for my 13 yo son from 11.11 sales. He is quite happy about the gaming-related features mentioned in the Ad.

      There's always one…

  •

How does it compare to the Nokia 5.3 which comes with NFC with 11nm technology? It was selling at $244 earlier. The downside is 64GB storage for Nokia but it has regular security update for 2 years.

  •
