      Different product.

Locks act as a deterrent anyway. If a thief really wants your bike, they'll get it one way or another.

LPL is the first thing that comes to mind when a lock deal appears here lol

Serious question: Why would you want to wear a bike lock?
(rather than clamping it to your frame)

    • +5

Ease of access. The lock doesnt slap around on the frame of the bike. nor does it weigh you down in a backpack. Spreading the weight across your hips or shoulders is a little less effort.

    • +1

If you've only got one lock and two bikes you'll likely only have one clamp to attach the lock to the bike I'm guessing.

Also I have a really solid Onguard Brute D lock but it's so heavy that even when mounted on the frame it rattles around like crazy when riding. Hiploks are actually comfortable, quiet and you don't need to put your lock in a bag or mount it on your bike

It can also easily be used as a weapon to smack a (profanity) for trying to roll you for your bike and shoes.

    • Since apparently noone either owns one or is giving a proper answer I will.

I own the reflective normal version (heavier, more secure).

The main advantage is, to wear it centres the weight, and it's meant for non-backpack wearing trips.

They also advertise the fact you don't have to "lock it" to wear it, but this is wrong because while the chain isn't locked, the locking end still needs to be locked to work as a belt…

I also liked the lettering was very reflective so it stands out.

I don't currently use it however, the majority of the places I am locking up are inside buildings or for short periods of time.

The normal version is also quite heavy (1.5kg?? Possibly more).

    • I've been using this lock for years. It's great. can recommend

      • i prefer having less weight on the bike because it feels less nimble when riding rough, making hard turns, hopping.
      • doesn't take up weight and space in your bag. this lock is about 1kg.
      • comfortable when wearing; can easily forget that i'm wearing it
      • have multiple bikes
      • easier to use than d/u-locks
      • easy to lend to others

note, locking circumference is 75cm as UFO mentions. this is just often enough to lock front wheel and frame to bike post. but sometimes i think few more links n the chain would be better.

I don't carry a lock with me because it's not aero

  • OP, this isn't your first deal posted. You already posted the exact same deal 4 months ago

He is talking about this haha

First deal posted so I hope Ive done this right!

          • @[Deactivated]: hahah oh sorry! Thanks for the heads up, changed now (copy paste fail)

  • Thanks for the deal. Ordered one for my folding bike and it will replace that flimsy cable lock from Aldi.

  • I'm confused with the dimensions.

Locking circumference is 75cm, but waist sizing is up to 42 inches (107cm).

If the chain is shorter than the waist it's going around, does this mean that the chain sits loosely within a hip sleeve or something?
So when it comes time to lock the bike, what happens with the sleeve- being that it's too long?

    • +2

Essentially it's like a Kevlar sleeve, the chain doesn't sit loose but it tightens by a Velcro overlap.

Think of a hat with a Velcro fastener. It loops through a hoop and back to fasten with Velcro.

      • Gotcha, thanks.

Great idea. Just bought one. Thanks OP
