      If everyone can hold out

    • The 65" inch did not go down.

  • +2

ebay plus members can apply the promo code PLUS3 to get 3% off the price.

Brand new 75" were 2995 a couple of weeks ago.
I managed to get a 75" X9000H from JB for $2600 earlier last week so personally I wouldn't be paying this much.

    • +1

Yeah true. Its pretty much not a deal. Even the price history shows why. It was recently sold for AU $2,673.68

      • Yup agree, have been watching these on ebay and noticed the slight $80 drop today. Would rather it at the $1,750 it was for these a few weeks ago. I am hoping Good Friday gets this even lower.

        • It's a while till good Friday so it's likely lol

    • +1

How did u get that price? Store negotiated? That's a sweet price I'll be willing to pay.

      • EDIT: sorry misinterpreted comment

      • A guy on facebook said he could do deals through JB online, I messaged him some screenshots of receipts I found on Ozbargain that were 2640 from Good guys and one from HN. He came back and said he would do 2600. I bought that night and got it delivered last Friday.

    • haha did you post on whirlpool? i think i asked for the contact from you but he came back and offered $2995? :(

      • Hi yeah I did, I spoke to the guy and he said he was happy to give the deal to others but I have heard from a few that is not the case.
        So a bit disappointing tbh.

  • price on 27th Oct was 2673 only!

  • JB starts their sale tonight at 7pm so maybe hold off.

  • do you guys think 65 inches might go lower than this?

    thanks

…magic 8 ball says - all signs point to yes.

      • lol. fingers crossed.

        thanks

These are the best console TVs at the moment right?

    • +6

Best value, but the LG CX seems to be best if money is no object.

      • My wallet's prob gonna get hammered this week and Monday so I'll keep an eye out for this model :D

55" dropped to $1373 last month so $1400 or lower is my target I guess.

    • Yeah pretty decent at this price (FALD, 120hz hdmi 2.1). I got one for PS5 and movies/tv shows.

      • I was thinking of getting the 55" for PS5 gaming. No response time issues?

        • 4k @ 120Hz - 6.7 ms according to rtings when you use Game Mode.

          • @Cair22: That is awesome, thanks.

Definitely the TV I want for this gen then.

  • +1

Doesn't this have an an issue with 4k/120hz on PS5 and Xbox?

    • Fixed with an update I believe. I don't think it has rolled out the 2.1 update that had the issues in AU anyway.

  • +2

I managed to get the 55" x9000 for $1350 at jb hifi over the weekend.

    • Haggling?

      • Was asked what would I pay and a bit of haggling got the price. Have been told it is pretty much staff pricing…

    • +1

Can you post the receipt so I can go try to match that :)

      • +7

I will post it up when I get home from work tonight…

        • You would be a legend if you posted a receipt!! Thanks heaps

Box damaged my ass, these are returns that are refurbished because they didn't work when first sent. Used to work at sony.

    • Yeah, I'm concerned that these are repackaged TVs that were returned due to minor picture faults that most people wouldn't notice (e.g. vertical banding or a few dead pixels).

    • -1

Holy shit omg really? So many people here just telling others crap and get defensive when you dont like refurbished earphones. Thanks for clarifying!

      • When was the last time you stuck a TV in your ear?

        • +2

That's between me & my TV

    • From description: "AS NEW: This item may have damaged carton. It is an unused & undamaged item in its original packaging."

Any way to check what you're claiming from the TV itself? Ie. if you want to flag it with ACCC, how could you prove what you're saying?

      • +4

Yeh, considering there Sony ebay site has a section for 'refurbished' and a section for 'box damaged' i am calling BS on this comment. I dont think sony would risk people finding out the TV was meant to be new and was actually a refurb.

  • +3

Last month, it was $1995 brand new and ~$1780 box damaged.

    I recommend people wait.

  • the 55 inch was selling for 800 in China not long ago. wonder whats the price margin for this tv…

    • They have a much bigger market to sell to. Superpower countries have these benefits. USA has had cheaper pricing than us for as long as anyone can remember.

    • You can’t compare the chinese market to the Aussie market.

      700 million+ middle class vs around 10-15 million Australia….

  • The 65" are sold out (all sold at this price today)

  • I was doubting between the X9000H and the Q70. I'm still on the XB1 but will likely be upgrading the the XBX in the nearby future. I have a Sony HT-HXT1 home theatre system and we mainly watch netflix, prime, chrome cast and freeview plus. Which would be the best value for money for me? Would appreciate your input.

    • +1

X9000H has FALD and hdmi 2.1, and as I understand it Q70T does not (but Q80T does). So X9000H is better for gaming (also based on rtings) than Q70T, but cannot comment on smart features.

    • +1

No question the X9000H. It's a tier higher than the Q70.

  • If gaming isnt high on my list but more TV/Netflix watching is, would I be better with Q80T than X9000H (other than a price difference) I'm so confused coming from a 6yr old Samsung I am torn btwn trying Sony for a change.

    • Both pretty similar - but according to reviews Q80T is maybe better for well lit rooms and has slightly better viewing angle, whereas x9000h better in darker rooms, has better blacks, and better energy efficiency (ie. less power consumption). So very minor differences. Perhaps check out the stands and remotes too in case you have any preferences.

Thanks appreciate the reply - I've have researched so much on these tv's (coming from setting my mind on an OLED CX then deciding the price was never going to come down to a decent one) I've changed tact & have spent much of today reading up on Sony v Samsung - think I've decided on this one just now to find a 65' for a good price (along with half of OzB by the looks of it :)
