  • Thoughts on how this would compare to this Dell monitor here:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/583020

Grabbed one from that deal but it hasn't shipped yet. The Ethernet would be handy for my new m1 mac pro, since wifi isn't great in the roomvwhere I'll do most of my work.

    • The Dell one only supports USB-C power delivery up to 45W, while the Philips one is up to 65W. Important if you plan to use it as a one cable solution to charge your laptop as well. I have a MacBook Pro which can't run using the Dell monitor.

      • When you say can't run, do you mean the battery drains faster then it charges? Or some other issue? I think 45w will actually be ok for the new macbook that chew less power in combination with my mostly basic tasks.

I am curious about the quality difference in the panel itself though, if you have any insights?

        • Yeah, the battery would drain faster as my MacBook charges at 67w. You are correct, the new MacBooks with the M1 Chips would be fine with the Dell monitor as they consume less power.

        • The Dell panel is really nice I can say, its waaayyyyy too bright if you choose to turn it up. And aesthetically its 100 times better than this Philips. But logically speaking, this monitor is much better value.

    • You might be better off getting this one.

  • this monitor has a displayport input and a displayport OUTPUT, see image 6 on ebay….what's the use for this output connection?

      Daisy chain 2 monitors. Wow.

This. I have done this on Dell monitors. Very handy. No need for docking station. 1 cable for power, 1 cable output to 2 monitors (1 is via daisy chain), bluetooth kb and mouse. Clean set up.

        • would this daisy chain work with the new M1 macbook?

          • @Aussiecash: Not sure. Only tried it on 2015 macbook pro via thunderbolt 2 and lenovo thinkpad via usb c.

  • It's missing FreeSync but otherwise seems to tick all the boxes, including that high 350 cd/m2 brightness. Any thoughts on the missing FreeSync? Plan to play AAA titles with a RTX 3060 or 2070.

    • Its a 75Hz monitor, and you should be able to cap FPS in most AAA titles.
