I have this installed in my garage along with wyze cam inside the garage, best investment. I can check if the garage is open or closed from anywhere anytime and more importantly close it if its left open and with the wyze cam, get a nice view of it.

This garage opener just works, my only gripe is that the Apple Homekit loses connection to it very often, twice I had to re add the accessory and now I just can't be bothered to do it over and over again. Apart from that it is quite good.

    • n00b question, is it because of internet connection? or it is just apple problem?

        Most likely iSmartGate problem.

      • Doubt it is my internet as I have not had any issues with any other devices in the home, and I do have a reliable 100mb Fibre connection.
By homekit issue, I mean the accessory just disappears from apple home. Don't have issues with connecting with it when it is there.

I have this installed and I love it. Unlike bluehalk, I have no issues with Apple HomeKit.

Recently (may have been an update), the Apple connect widget on the car screen shows the status of the garage door when I’m in close proximity (a couple of streets) of the house and I can open/close the garage door using the car screen instead of the remote. Saves me carrying that large POS everywhere.

Same thing when going for a walk in the morning, no need to carry keys, I have an automation which pops up on the Apple Watch when close to home to open the garage door for me. Love it!

  • Will this work with a sliding front gate?
Edit: can see front gates in the pictures so probably yes :)

  • What is the normal price? In process of buying a house but haven't been approved yet, so I don't want to buy it now just in case it falls through!

Just installed a similar device - the HomeKit meross door opener. Cant fault it at all

Did the same, no issues either. https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B07QCTN71J/

+1 Meross kit works great. Does the same job as this posted deal at a fraction of the price.

    • Looks like they have the HomeKit compatible version only less than couple months ago. Didn't know it until now.

Thanks for the info. This is 1/2 the cost of iSmartGate.

  • I have this and I have it hooked up to home assistant. But also keep in mind that there are plenty of cheaper garage openers that can be flashed and loaded directly into home assistant.

THe value of the ismartgate is for people who want a plug and play setup and happy to rely on the cloud to use their home gear.

  • I have their Gogogate which is the older version of this, it's been rock solid for years. Can open/close the roller door by voice using Alexa which is really useful, auto open/close based on location and auto close the door at night in case you forget to shut it. Really happy with mine.

You can buy these from Aliexpress and the like that work with Google and Alexa etc for ~$20. 5 min install lots of you tube videos.

This is the same price as buying it from their official site. Would like to ask if there is any additional benefits to buy from your site instead of the official site?
