  • good price, does HN offer the same price/similar price?

    • You could always try to price match, though it may seem pointless. They are selling the 4GB console (no Kinect + game) for $218.

@All - For less than $100, you can grab yourself a 250GB HDD. Note that the 4GB internal storage is not seen as a storage device when it comes to some things, such as the HD update for Battlefield 3, which can only be installed on a hard disc drive.

Nonetheless, the deal itself is great. I am contemplating on an update, just not sure if I go for this or not.

Not much of a saving. I got the same pack from K-Mart over six months ago for $299. I would've expected the price to be lower by now.

    • its actually a pretty decent saving. $299 was after the original price drop, I doubt microsoft wants to drop the price twice in one year.

These are shipped Xbox's btw, that advertisement says no pick up which makes me question: Is it available in store? If not no price matching at a few major retails (BigW, Target, Kmart, ect). They require it to be an all around price not just "delivered" price. -_-

      • JB HIFI is horrible for pricing. Ever since they launched on the ASX.

      • Is it available in store?

There was a dupe posted earlier that had some details about it being available in-store, so I definitely say it's an option.

        • Pretty sure it ends Sunday, atleast it should at bourke st in melb, forza 4 limited edition was $79 too

      • Yes. Got mine from nunawading and saw it in the city stores too. I think it's a store wide sale

        • Cool. The website print out won't cut it for price matching however so a cataloge will have too.

  • Well then, I think I'd rather get it price matched from DSE to use AMEX and Woolworths Everyday.
    Thanks OP!

  • Would one not be better off getting the
Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle with Kinect instead?

Comes with 2 games and 250gb hdd and bonus live connection and according to GG website its for $399 and might be able to push it a little lower than that.

250gb hdd would easily cost $100 or more if actual xbox brand is used.

    thoughts?

    • First of all, your username is awesome.

Secondly you may be right about the $399 deal being a little bit better, but let me first say that if you consider ordering HD online and possibly from overseas you can get it much cheaper.

Right now in the US you can buy a 4GB 360 with kinect for $199 often with a free $50 from where you purchased it. Unfortunately we live in the shopping hell hole which is Australia so that isn't really an option. That said, a few years ago while still living in the US I was able to buy a used 360 hard drive for $25 shipped. I know it will cost a bit to ship here from the US, but I still recommend considering that a an option when looking to get good deals on electronics.

        Thanks DAK52!

Guys just found out that JBHIFI are doing the following deal.

Same Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle with Kinect(Carnival and Adventures game + 3 months xbox live) for $378.

        OR

        Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle(same as above)with Kinect + sega mega drive + sports 2 + assassins creed $468.

They claim they are losing money but they get it back through Microsoft redemption.

Which would you say is a better deal?

Im thinking $378 is worth it just because of the fact that its 250gb.

The games in either pack id not really be interested in myself and getting the console only for the kinect experience as games I tend to play on high end PCs.

  • Anyone know what drives these slims are running - Liteon 0401, 1071, DG, Hitachi? Manufactured Sept 2011 or later?

  • I just went to JBHIFI and got the following (slightly discounted from before pricing)

    $444
Xbox 360 250GB Holiday Value Bundle with Kinect (same as above) $378 HN and GG doing same
    +
Dance Central 2 $55 (Yes I know I could buy this eg Play Asia for $30 or so but I wanted it now)
    +
    Hive Kinect TV Mount $11

The chap I dealt with was very honest and when he gave me the breakdown of the other "extras" there was no savings to be really had there (depending on your negotiating skills).
