                @deadpoet: I've been on team xbox/pc since the 360 (owned a PS1 and 2 prior). At this point the backlog of PS games is a huge draw. Out of the 15 free playstation collection games you get I'm dead keen on about 6 of them, that alone is a pretty good value for me.

          it's all personal perspective. It IS life changing for me :) I've never enjoyed gaming more in my life. I mean, even the new "worms" was a great joy to play. The R2 trigger feels like I'm really pulling the trigger on that shotgun!!

        Already fixed by Sony

        Version 20.02-02.25.00

        An issue where users couldn't download games because only the "Queued for Download" or "View Details" option was displayed was resolved. If you encounter this issue, update the system software to the latest version, and then try starting your PS5 in safe mode to rebuild the database.

          "Already fixed", but even that patch note still explicitly states that you may need to "then try starting your PS5 in safe mode to rebuild the database.", which the linked to article gives highly detailed instructions to.

          Also Version 20.02-02.25.00 was released on 17/11, while the article I linked to was published on 20/11. And there are even PlayStation focus gaming media outlets still writting articles as if people still may need to do a restart to safe mode and rebuild the database as recently as 30/11.

          Was obviously making a joke about bots (not human) being used by scalpers (probably shouldn't be treated as humans either) to buy much of the available PS5 stock, and that it's currently difficult for actual humans to get their hands on PS5.

      a DISK is a hard drive
      a DISC is a movie or software

      It's a pet peeve of mine and I always like to embarrass people , it's not my best trait

          Software not hardware related. Games were crashing for me first week. No issue within the last week or so.

            @ozbjunkie: People have been getting a lot of HW failures too, mostly the GPU failing causing artifacts. People have been reporting loud fans and loud disc drives not only that but some games bricking their console.

        My launch PS5 Dualsense controller has a button that doesn't work and Sony isn't helping. Luckily I bought a spare though the controllers are expensive!

            @nailsforlunch: They would only do the entire console and controller. Since there's no PS5 stock this meant refunding the PS5. The retailer suggested Sony, and Sony suggested the retailer.

            Ordinarily there's manufacturer warranty on this stuff as well though, even if you have to pay a fee for shipping.
